While a lot of people do like the CBR, it appears to be the least popular of the moderates.

According to Screamscape there is a rumor the CBR 'might' add a "a bunch of themed rooms or suites to the resort, starting with rooms themed to the Pirates of the Caribbean".

Whether they are actually thinking about this or not is unknown. I know there have been a few pirate touches in the past, such as the logo on souveniers. The food court/gift shop is called Port Royale and the main pool is themed as a fort.

Here's the full rumor on Screamscape: http://www.screamscape.com/html/walt_disney_world_resort.htm

Allearsnet.com has photos of what the CBR looks like now.

What do you think of the possibility of the CBR taking on a pirate or 'old caribbean' theme?

I think that's a great idea! We stayed there this past Sept and actually thought the Pirate Theme seemed fitting for the resort. We really liked the resort itself. I think it's underpraised.

Personally I love CBR :) BUT, if I had the option to sleep in the Capt Jack Sparrow's suite.. er The Capt's Quarters that is... well, I'd love it even more! :) I had thought of a whole PoTC make-over theme for this resort when Curse of the Black Pearl came out... I would sooooooooooooooo love to see that happen :D

I think it's long overdue.

I have only stayed at CBR once, but I really liked the resort and its theme. I think that adding the pirates theme to the resort - as long as they don't go overboard with it, so to speak - is a completely natural extension of the existing theme that will only make the resort more popular.

I just hope they keep at one section more restrained and not so over the top, because my impression of CBR during my one stay there was that it is mostly a quite, relaxing resort that's perfect as a couples place, a romantic getaway place, or a honeymoon place.

I'm with you, Will--partial theming would be perfect. In fact, that would probably attract all the families, leaving the more "tame" area for couples and oldsters (and those of us who fit both categories).

Maybe they'll do Trinidad South first, since nobody wants to stay there.

Another CBR fan! It has always sort of had some of that feeling anyway, so to add some rooms and/or suites would be fun.

Back when it was new we stayed there about 6 times in a row. It was our first venture away from the Poly and after a day I loved the resort.

Only reason we do not stay there more often is the concern for room location with it being such a large, spread out resort.

Anyway, great idea!

I've heard this same thing from many people and that is pretty much why we don't opt to try CBR (hey...we do enough walking all day in the parks)...that and I've also heard some of the rooms are starting to show their age and need some serious renovating.

I think some renovated POTC themed rooms would be a good idea.

How come, Bill? Is it the farthest out?

Sorry I didn't answer sooner. I've been away from my computer. I'm actually at a convention in Fort Lauderdale with limited computer time.
Anyway, yes it is very far. Some people like it for the solitude, most don't because you have to take a bus to the food court. Well, not really but it is a long walk, especially after a long day in the parks.
