That looks pretty interesting, Suzy! Are rates for singles double?

SuzyQ
03-20-2007, 11:43 AM
The rates are based on double occupancy. So, say for the Disney Port Orleans French Quarter Resort, it is $282 pp/do = $564 total room price.

:)

Added: That would be for the four nights with all the extras if booked by April 30. :)

Can you use this package deal with AAA or AP rates (if they come out)? Really would love to go that Illuminations Dessert Party again. I need better pictures!

Margaret, Suzy will surely respond, but I can tell you that last yr they did honor the AP rate if it was available :)

As in Bacibecky’s experience with us last year, historically they have worked with us to price protect our rates depending on availability of the AP and AAA rates at the resort on those particular dates.

In most circumstances, we are able to adjust the rates for any of our advertised Mouse Fan Deals, including MouseFest, but there are times when they wouldn’t apply. For example, if the AP rate is blacked out, or or the resort is not available when AP offer is released, etc

So with all this said, we will be on top of these discounts and be checking for you and will proactively apply then as we do with any other discounts that are released.

Please let one of us know if you have any questions on this offer. Feel free to PM or email. We hope to see many of you at the Dessert Party in December!

Welcome to sponsorship guys! I got the package you offered last year and was thrilled with the value you gave us.

I have a few miscelanous questions, which might apply to others besides myself, so I'll ask here instead of via email or PM:

1) Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly - if I am staying at ASMO all by me onsie, my total including tax would be $304, savvy?

2) Does the package require a specific check-in day? Some MFers like to arrive on Wed night and depart Sun, others arrive on Thurs morning (when the cruisers arrive) and depart Mon.

3) Can the rate be extended beyond the 4-night package? I am planning to make my MF trip much bigger this year by arriving on Wed Dec 5 and staying a full 10 days, checking out Fri Dec 14. As always, I'm on a very tight budget, so if I can get the package rate for the whole trip that would be great, otherwise I'd probably move off-site on Sunday.

4) Any word yet on park passes? I'll need an 8-day MYW hopper, and a single PI pass, although most MFers will probably need a 5-day or 6-day hopper.

Willcad,

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Let me see if I can help you and any others out with this.

You are correct that the single rate for the All Star Movies would be $304. This would get you the room for 4 nights and the Illumination Dessert Party on either Friday or Sunday night. Your night of choice will be confirmed first come, first booked basis.

If you need to check in a few days earlier or later than the group, just let us know and we can create a custom package for you. There were several MouseFesters last year that did a 10 night stay with our MouseFest package! As long as you are staying 3 nights you will get the FREE Desesrt party for the first two guests.

To add to our great MouseFest package we have special tickets taht we can offer to you as well. These tickets come with one admission to Pleasure Island. We can offer up to 8 day tickets with these special rates. THe 8 day Park Hopping ticket with one admission to Pleasure Island would be $240 for an adult.

Again, Please feel free to contact us and we can customize a MouseFest package for your MouseFest trip!

Annette,

Would you have a price for a 4 or 5 day ticket and would that also include one entrey to Pleasure Island?

I'm trying to decide if I want to get another AP for Mousefest and marathon or just buy regualr tickets.

Thanks

OK I'm a dummy here but what does the do stand for?

Example: Disney's Pop Century Resort - standard - $185 pp/do

I got the pp=per person

Thanks for posting MFT I'm excited to get started on planning Mousefest! (You did get my email didn't you Suzy? I know you were busy last evening)

DO= double occupancy

Which means if I go, and don't have a room mate it's gonna COST me!

DO means Double Occupancy required.

DO is kind of an old trick in the travel industry to make people think the price is lower. Basically, the actual price of a room or package gets divided in half and called the Per Person price, which fools a lot of people into thinking they are paying less. Of course, there is a two-person minimum, so a single person pays the same as a couple. The Per Person price only has any meaning to a pair of people who are actually dividing the cost between them; for married couples it's a meaningless number.

I wish we could advertise this package a different way, but the mouse has specific rules and guidelines about how we present these special offers. The rate is the total cost of the room for four nights divide by two people. If you had a third/fourth guest you would only need to add tickets for them (if needed) and the cost of the dessert party for that one person.

Hope that helps explains double occupancy and as always happy to help!

So, am I understanding this correctly that the total is $370 for four nights stay at Pop Century? Also, if there are any additional AP or AAA discounts they may also be able to be applied?

If so, that is a great deal! I don't think there is any trickery involved by indicating the prices would be based on double occupancy. Even based on double occupancy the rate comes out to $92.50 total per night, which is the standard rate direct from Disney (including tax) for the dates indicated. Plus, you would get all of the perks of having a travel agent at your disposal and be able to attend the special event they mentioned.

If I do end up being able to attend MF this year I will definitely go with this plan!

Thanks ladies!

Yes, it's a very good deal, especially if they match AP or AAA rates that might come out later.

The double occupancy thing is just a standard way that the travel industry lists rates, at least in the US (I don't know if they do it the same or different in other countries). As long as you understand what it means, you're okay; it's just inexperienced travellers who gloss over the term who get surprised by a larger bill than they expect. It's just always annoyed me that the term is still in common use today. A few hotels and internet booking sites just give you the room rate and forget the double occupancy thing, but many still do it the old-fashioned way.

A question has come to my attention a few times that I thought that I would
clear up in here.

If your travel dates are a little different, say you are planning on going to MouseFest from December 5 - 9, or December 7 - 11; just let us know., we Can usually add on days booked with the same deal (of course, based on availability).

Hope that is helpful! :)

I have a question and a request.

If this is inappropriate to ask this question, then please feel free to delete my post.

I wish that I could participate just to get the Illumination's Dessert Party which is always excellent.

But I am renting DVC points again for the BWV standard view studio.

I was reading this thread and read several times that the package comes with at least two tickets to the Illumination's Dessert Party as part of the package.

I saw that Will is going solo and asking about the package price, etc., for solo or two people per room.

Would it be alright if I ask any single or solo attendees to the package that receive two Illumination's Dessert tickets if they would like to sell the 2nd ticket to me so that I could go.

I was just curious.

If you can, please pm or email me.

If this is inappropriate to post because I am requesting to buy something or for any other reason, please let me know, or feel free to delete this post without notice.

Sincerely, Ray

Annette

Ray,

Unfortunately, this is a benefit to those that are booking into the room block. It is not transferable. As guest book Solo, we are only adding one person into the confirmed space for Illuminations.

I can put you on a waitlist for open space and contact you if we have avaialbile space, but I do want to let you know that we have had a great response to this package.

You can look at this Fantasmic! event at MGM Studios. We are co sponsoring this event and I do know there are a few spots that remain. http://www.mousefantravel.com/mft/fantasmic.php

Thank you for the quick response, Annette.

And thank you for the explanation.

I'm sure that there won't be any Illumination Dessert Meet spaces left. That has to be the most popular meet ever.

But thank you for putting me on the wait list.
