I was at a local crop last night and met 3 real great ladies from my cricut messageboard. One of the ladies was telling us about Cropadoodledo and how much fun it is. I looked at their website today, and after talking to my friend who loves it there, I'm definately in the "I must go" category.

Who wants to go? Check out cropadoodledo.com for more information on it. Its in Indiana. A not so far of a drive for the Ohio people and nearby states. We could hold a Tagrel weekend crop this summer. You stay in a farmhouse and the ladies who run it do all the cooking and cleaning for you. They have a cropping room with areas set up for everyone. And they even offer spa services. Who wants to come with me? I'm thinking of June 28, 29, & 30 or Aug 2, 3, & 4. Those are the weekends this summer with the most spots open.

Sounds awesome - but a little too far from San Diego!

I've always wanted to do one of those weekend away crops.

You will have a blast. Too far away from Florida, plus I am going to my annual retreat in Orlando in May. You will want to make this a tradition like I have. :scrapbooking: :hottub: :girlLounge:

Sounds like fun Carrie. We have a few of the weekend crops around here but none of my friends are croppers so I never go. If it wasn't a ten hour drive one way I would consider it.

That sounds like a great place but it is 11 1/2 hour drive for me so I don't think it would work out, but it sure tweeked my interest.

Sounds like fun, Carrie! I'll look it up.

edited to say: It's 45 minutes from Indianapolis, and Southwest flys to Indianapolis, the rooms are very pretty, the spa services look great and decently priced . . . on the downside, it's small, all three bedrooms are shared with 1, 2 or 3 other people and the crop space per person looks pretty small.

I don't think that one's for me. I think I'm looking for something with classes, vendor demos and shopping if I have to fly to it. At my LSS I can crop 18 hours with three meals included for $45, (not that I survive 18 hours) and sleep in my own bed. I did 23 pages in 9 hours on Saturday and I was wiped.

Chris, If it's a scrap retreat, where do you go in Orlando?

It is a scrap/crop retreat hosted by Club Scrap. Friends of members are allowed to attend;) . It is being held this year at the Worldgate Radisson Hotel. Here is the link for details.

Before they took their show on the road I went 4 years in a row to the retreat in WI. Talk about being spoiled. While they don't pamper you as much when they are on the road, it is a great weekend. I really feel like I get my money worth. They really strive to provide excellent meals. Lots of goodies provided. Make and takes/demos in the evening. Lots of cropping space. And they have very innovative classes. The classes are on scrapbooking techniques and general paper crafting. The only reason I don't go to the main retreat in WI anymore is because I get too weepy being away from my guys for 4 days. This is only a 2.5 days. Easier on the mommy in me. I just made my committment to club scrap today, and I will call the hotel tomorrow.

ETA: The retreat was at this hotel last year. While not as nice as a WDW deluxe resort, it was by no means shabby. I had a comfortable stay there last year. To be honest I was only in my room to sleep.

I went to the Creating Keepsakes Convention here in Tulsa a couple of years ago and it was very fun. There were several classes to pick from over 2 1/2 days and two huge crops which contests and prizes. The salesroom was huge and they had several make and takes that allowed you to try out different applications and products. I only stayed one night in the hotel since it was withing 20 minutes of my house but it was fun to overload on scrapbooking for a weekend. Hopefully I will be able to attend this year but my work seems to schedule an event the same weekend but I am hoping to either put in my vacation day early or get them to avoid the dates.

I went to the CKC in Charlotte, NC last year. (My sister lives in NC). We are planning to go again this year. We had a blast. The evening crops were a lot of fun - though not super productive.

There's a Memories Expo in Orlando, November 16-17, and A Creating Keepsakes University in Orlando, October 11-13, if anyone's interested.
