I heard ;) that there was some interest in having a chat for the CMM racers, support team and site supporters.
Other than Tuesday nights - the chat calendar is pretty open. Pick a date and time. So discuss and let us know!

Would this be the party planning chat for people who will be in Nashville, or a general "well-wishing" chat?
D'ya think we might want to have the party planning chat this month to nail down the planning and the well-wishing chat closer to the actual date - say April 23rd? (The Monday prior to the race)

Could we do it the prior week?? This date is better but we're leaving here with the silver bullet and traveling around a bit on the way to nashville. I seldom have internet when we're on the road..:(
Oh I see you mentioned two chats.. OK, take that back..just so I don't miss both..

Until closer to time, I won't know whether I'll be at work or not at that time. Just schedule it, and I'll do my best to attend.

My DSL is getting hooked up on Thursday by 8, so if everything goes as planned Thursday at 9 is good for me.

imo, participants only - meaning people who are going to be 'on the ground' in Nashville CMM weekend, with the goal of figgering out who's bringing what, who's doing what, where and when.
NOT that we don't like "everyone", but it seems to me when "everyone" comes to a chat, seems like more time is spent hello-ing and goodbye-ing than actually making progress on the purpose of the chat.

If the wish of the group is for a "private" chat then it should not be listed on the site calendar and someone will want to set up a "private" chat room to invite the "involved" people.
As it is fairly well known around here I am not all the interested in things that intentionally exclude people, I will not go into that. However, if you all need to have some alone time to figure out details then it may be the only way.
I will not post it on the site calendar at this point, when it is decided then I can post it if that is the wishes of this group. Who will be the point person on CCM chats?

BA remind me please. Don't people still show up in the heading even if it is a Private Chat? Seems like somehow I found out about a Private Chat by seeing the people somewhere. If that is the case, I really don't like the thought of having a private chat. If everyone wants a private chat I bet we could set up a MSN, AOL etc type one. I am fine with an open chat, we may just have to have an in charge person to keep on track.

Personally, I prefer an open chat as not to exclude anyone. We'll just be talking about Nashville weekend things so if anyone wants to hang out, that is fine with me.

Yes MJ - they do show up in the heading on the board. It can be slightly confusing.

Then I vote for open chat.

I vote to keep it open too- we'll just have to stay on task and now let ourselves get caught up in general chatter until we get our work done- (gosh sounds like a teacher doesn't it?)

It is never my intention to hurt anyones feelings.
I have to say i get confused and have trouble following the discussion when there's so much coming and going, which is why I rarely chat. In this case though, I have a reason to be there and sought only to simplify for clarity.

I don't think it's an issue anyway. Our members are very considerate and if they see there's a certain topic underway, I'm sure they'll try not to divert it. :D

It appears my DSL at home has been delayed, so unless a miricle has happened (and after poor Billy waited home all day for the phone company to come), I will not be able to attend tonights chat. I do have a phone now but DSL will not be connected until Monday. I will miss you all.

We discussed where we may want to eat Thursday and Friday. Amy is going to check some restraunts and post options.
Also, we talked about snacks for when we party!!!!

Yes: Demi's. The Greek/Italian/chinese/barbecue place.
Very good, very cheap. My mother and I went here twice in one day!

That was one of the places Amy was going to check on. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I think she was looking into Thursday for dinner and Friday dinner before the kid's races.

I'm so sorry I missed this! Because I train at night, I am rarely home before 8 central and then still need to eat something! Please let me know what's up, and if you need me to do something - anything - to help out.

I think my homework assignment was Friday. Although I am happy to provide suggestions for Thursday, my bet is that I won't get out of work early enough to do anything fun Thursday night. I did suggest that Thursday would be a good night to hit downtown. Tootsie's is great on a Thursday night. If you guys do a late event (something after 8), I might be able to attend.
I'm posting now about Friday.

Then let's go eat at that Demi's place for Thursday night - if DDoll can eat there twice in one day, we all sure should be able to eat there twice in two days!

Sorry Amy, as if you didn't have enough to organize. Yes, you did agree to check into Friday for us.
We can start a thread for Thursday plans if that will help.
