I was wondering if anybody had experience with the crowds the first week of April? We went in July last year, and it was very crowded. Is Spring Break more packed than the summer? I'm starting to freak out a little that we won't get much done. :?

Cheri - if you have been there in July, you have experienced the levels of crowds that are likely to be there on Spring Break - the only saving grace might be that different parts of the country have different weeks off this year. Some are connected to Easter, while others are simply calculated to balance school days on the calendar - for example, this year in my children's school district we have the last week in April as our spring break. So, that's a long winded way of saying - generally spring break crowds are large, but you may get some benefit from some dispersing of the various vacations weeks!!
I saw that you are staying at Coronado Springs - I think that is a perfect choice for a Spring Break vacation. We did that very thing five years ago. Coronado Springs generally has good transportation, so it is a good resort for taking afternoon breaks. My advice (and I am sure you already know this) is to go to the parks early, get that wonderful afternoon break at the resort and go back to the parks later. It appears that you have young kids - they will go crazy over the pool at CSR.
And remember - look at your vacation as a "resort" vacation - relax a little, take in the excitement at the parks - do your favorites - but don't worry about doing it all - it is clear from your involvement here that you'll be going back - There's always next time!! That's the beauty of it.
Enjoy!!!

It is really hard to tell anymore. October used to be pretty empty. These days, it always seems crowded. In 1994, I went to WDW over the 4th of July, everything was 2 hour waits!! I went back on the 4th of July again in (I think) 1996 and it was literally empty. THe MK was so empty, just about everything was walk on. I think the crowds shift from year to year on particular dates. Maybe a lot of people swore they would never go back on July 4th and that particular year, it showed. Who knows. I would imagine that it will be crowded, but ya never know, you may be pleasenty surprised 8) I bet the weather will be awesome though!!

We have found the crowds to be erratic over spring break. Some years there are lots of people, others it is nearly empty. I haven't figured out what the magic formula is yet. We are headed down the 19th of March this year, that is when our spring break is. I would suggest, plan for the worst and hope for the best, but most of all be flexable.

You got some good advice. Lisa is correct about the different Spring Break times so that may work to your advantage. Plus side is the time you are going usually has longer hours, only down side is that since you live so close alot of Georgians may use that week to sneak down. You know you will have a blast though!

You don't still do commando touring do you?
I'm starting to freak out a little that we won't get much done.
What you don't get done on this trip, just do on the next one. It's not like you know that you won't be going back. You know that you're eventually going back. Relax and plan your trip and what you get done will be great and what you don't get done will wait till you go back.
