Hi Cindy!
I'll preface this by saying that I haven't been to WDW in 10 years, but let me see what I can remember! We went in June both trips I've been there, so it rained a lot on both trips.
- Duck into a show. I remember one time we went into Hall of Presidents and once at EPCOT we went into one of the countries that had a movie.
- You could also do a ride that has an indoor line. We had a brief thunderstorm that rolled through so we went and got in line for the Great Movie Ride and it passed by the time we were done.
- If you haven't eaten, take some time for an inpromptu meal or snack.
- Shop! You could spend some time hunting for souvenirs and stay out of the rain.
- Or, you could head back to your resort if it's an afternoon cloudburst. By the time you get back to your resort, you can either take a nap or if the rain has stopped, swim.
It is my understanding that most rides continue to run unless there is a lot of lightning in the area. So you could always just get soaked and ride on some rides! :D Have fun on your trip!!!

We stay in the parks. It seems like some don't like the rain, but hay put on that old yellow duck poncho and go on the rides. Just make sure you have dry tennies in the room.If you don't want parks try Disney quest,or resort hoping.

Grab a poncho and hit the Magic Kingdom. People really shy away from the parks when it rains, so there are really small lines. When we were in WDW in December, it rained quite a bit one Sunday (an Extra Magic Hour day). We were able to walk on to EVERYTHING! Yeah, you have to put up walking from ride to ride, but we thought it was worth it.

We were also at the MK when it rained quite a bit one day in Dec. and we went to the shows!! I agree with Ali, you do have to put up with the rain walking between the attractions, but there were no lines. It was hard for us though, because we had three kids, two of which were in strollers. We decided to head back to the WL to dry off for a little while.
It never seems to fail, when we go to Epcot, it rains. It doesn't seem to bother us there much since a lot of their attractions are indoors.

We, too were in MK on a Sunday in December when it was raining. We showed up at about 9 am - walked into CP for breakfast, did all of Fantasyland, and I even got in one final ride on Space Mtn! All in about 2 hours -- The crowds were almost non existent for MK.
We have just stayed in the parks and contiuned touring! I do not like ponchos -- I do not like to feel as if it is raining inside the poncho as the rain is falling outside the poncho (can you say sweating! ) I have been known to use an umbrella and that works well as long as there is not lightening!

Unlike Seattle, where it isn't a good winter rain unless it's more than a week long, the rains in Florida are usually over in an hour or less. So a nice snack and a trip to a shop, plus one or two walk-on rides will almost always carry you through the rain! Then you have the park to yourself while those who left are kicking themselves for being such chickens! :nahnah:

Rain drives heavy crowds into Disney Quest so my advice is stay in the parks with your ponchos. The MK and Epcot work best for me in the rain. Many of the rides are indoors (with covered ques) as is the shopping & eateries.

I've toured on occasion when the rain lasted awhile, most of the day. My solutions have been lazy ones:
Dessert the Weather! :eat:
See how many places you can sit down and have dessert. Buy some postcards, a souvenir pen and sit down and write a few cards to friends and family. Go for a hot fudge brownie sundae, if you can get it. I like to call those Weapons of My Abs' Destruction.
Battle to the Death Arcade Challenge
Most of the parks have a play area. Locate it and be ready to seek it out in a storm. Bribe some kid to get away from your machine of choice. Then challenge your family or DH to a serious game of video supremacy. If you win, insist your prize is for them to fetch you a hot fudge brownie sundae while you rest. If you lose, tell them it is mighty sad for you to lose like that and you need them to fetch you a hot fudge brownie sundae. 8)
Work on your Trip Report, you Lazy Tourist!
Get yourself a nifty little booklet to write in. Give your kids and hubby some quarters and tell them C'Ya! Get busy on that trip report over a hot fudge brownie sundae!

Just grab ponchos and dance in the rain to all of the attractions! I never let a little rain stop me. Not even when my tent was flooded at Ft. Wilderness campground and was floating down the canal! Yep, that really happened! LOL

We too stay in the parks and grab a poncho. Then again, not much seems to stop us on the quest for MAGIC! The only time we really minded the rain was when it was cooler, however, when it is hot, it is almost a welcome site (bite my tongue).

This is a little OT of your question, Cindy, but I ran into rain at Epcot recently and was very unprepared 'dress'-wise. Don;t forget to pack some of the very cheap, almost disposable rain ponchos that you can find for around $1 in the camping sections of most WalMarts. The ponchos they sell at WDW are just as cheap...but they won't cost as cheap. I opted for a Mickey umbrella and at under $10 I thought it was a great bargain that will last me a long time - not so with those $7 Mickey ponchos.
I think everyone had great suggestions on what to do when it rains. Just remember most of the time Florida storms don't last all that long ans the great thing about Disney is they offer shopping, 3-D attractions and dining - all indoors and out of the rain.

CFM,
I'm going along with everyone else. I'm not so sweet that I'll melt in the famous Florida liquid sunshine so we just don our liquid sunshine gear and plod on through it. I work too hard, wait too long for vacation and pay too much to get there to let a little liquid sunshine stop me from enjoying the "World".
