A couple of people have mentioned wanting to learn how to do this in the coming year. I have picked out for you the following two basic resources that I think would be very helpful to you.

First is a free PDF file booklet. It's very thorough and a good first-read.

Go get the booklet at ScrapGirls (http://www.scrapgirls.com/store/product.php?id=5301) (Registration will be required at the site--they have an excellent newsletter and it is worth doing. I have never gotten a single piece of spam on my scrapbooking email address, so don't worry!)

The second resource is so close to the page I'd have made up for you that I'm delighted to recommend it. This has links to the best of everything you need to get started--tutorials, free supplies, a current listing of all the best stores, plus forums and galleries.

See the Resources Page at Simply Clean DigitScraps (http://www.simplycleandigiscraps.com/resources.html) (And while you're there, check out the stuff she's giving away free--it's pretty good.)

I am happy to answer any questions with more specifc information :)

MissB would you link to a digital scrapbook you think is a good example?
I have a mountain of travel photos and a little spare time.
I don't really know what a digital scrapbook is though. :)

They're out of order, but you can see the Mousefest ABC book I did at this link. http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b78/snowleopard55/MF%20ABCs/

I'd like to think it's a good example; it's varied anyway. There are lots of styles, kind of depends on what you like.

Thanks for the info, Miss B! I am in the process of learning how to digiscrapbook after years of traditional paper crafting. I just was finally running out of room for all that paper! Once my stash is used up, I will be mostly digital.

There are real advantages to digital in the mess department. But of course the materials for traditional scrapping are so much fun to touch and tear and get kinetically involved with.

Linda, too bad you don't live closer. I would go over and help you learn some of the software. It can be somewhat hard to teach a person over the internet when you can't see their screen or software settings unfortunately.

Thanks, Miss B! Those links should give me a great place to start. I take so many pictures, that I can't do really fancy pages that use only only use one pic per page! I really just want to be able to do simple stuff, because that 's all I have time for, but hopefully I can develop a style of my own that will be fast and look good, too!

BTW, I love your ABC's of MouseFest book! I only wish I had the time to do something like that!!!!

Well, Brian, maybe we should make a trip to see you and help you teach us to digitally scrapbook! Linda and I have been considering a scrapbook retreat!:)

I am already planning to attend a SB retreat in Orlando during the weekend of May 18th-20th at the Radisson Worldgate Inn in Kissimmee. The retreat is being sponsored by Club Scrap. They are primrily a traditional paper craft company, but they do digital kits as well. I don't think they are planning to do anything digital, but if someone wanted to an impromptu class (hint, hint;) ) in the evenings on their own, it would probably be ok.

Hey, I just may need to join this retreat. Brian, I must admit, I can be pretty handy if I am inspired to be with working around a yard, and know how to use a hammer. I myself dug up the roots of a pine tree, and 5 large shrubby bushes trees when we moved into this house because I did not like them. I also helped demolish an old shed and deck when we took those down.

Hey this could be fun.

Hmm I never thought of using you all as labor... You can all paint, spackle, and hammer and then we can scrapbook.

I'm in! Just tell me when and where! :D

Oh and I can't work on anything over my head.....bad for my bad neck. Oh, and I get migraines from paint smell. And I have asthma, so I can't be around spackle dust. Hope that doesn't disqualify me.

I can cook! :D And I have smoothie maker.

I'm a great project manager tho. I love to direct things. :D
