I read on another site that not only is POFQ closing,but that Riverside is too.It said that they are not taking reservations for the near future.MMM I am sorry for those that want too stay,but I hope that it will mean good codes for July!

I thought the original report said they would be closing all of PO both FQ and Riverside, but in stages. Since they are doing that they probably don't want to take any more reservations so they can accomodate all they have booked already.

This is just my guess.

I know that these are moderates, but do you think the closing of both sides at the same time - and at this particular time - has anything to do with openiing up Pop Century soon? Do you think they will try to funnel people there, after of course the other moderates fill up?

No I don't think so because I heard they were going to shut parts of All Stars down and that would make up the difference in rooms. My DD heard this from someone that works at Allstars before the formal announcement came out about Pop Century, so it sounds like it could be true.

I don't think they have done any major rehab at Allstars for awhile, so it would work out good. They can close the rooms, but still have the same amount of lower end rooms available.

I think they were doing work on the roofs of the buildings in the Mansions.

What I had heard was that Riverside would close after French Quarter is finished, so I would imagine that it will be several months away.

All I know is that my DD just left this morning for ten days at POR (actually I got up at 4 am to drive her to the airport and she is in the air as we (sort of) speak!!) Hate to admit it but I wish it were me. Of course, she is trying to strong-arm DH and me to go with her and her fiancee in early December for a few days at the Poly. To that end, I just noticed that she added a trip counter to my posts! The little stinker......!

No,No No... they just can't close POR... my so very favorite place... Sadly, I did noticed the roofs this weekend and this did cross my mind. But I quickly pushed the thought right out! Oh, I hope it's not for long... :cry:
