View Full Version : PB&J on the cruise?

In my cruise planning I have run into a snafu -

can anyone verify if PB&J is in fact available on the ship during lunch/dinner hours? My 5 year old has a VERY routine diet and does not eat normal "kid" food - ie. mac-n-cheese, chicken fingers, grilled cheese, etc. Her daily menu is...

Breakfast - waffle or cereal without milk
Lunch - yogurt and graham cracker dippers
Dinner - PB&J (must be on crustless whole wheat, no less), cheddar cheese sticks and goldfish crackers

That is IT - every single day for over 3 years!!! I kid you not. Trying to get her to even taste another food you'd think we are murdering her. She would literally starve to death if we attempted the "when she's hungry enough she'll eat it" routine. Doc says someday she'll grow out of it - HA! I'm thinking obsessive/compulsive thing going on here, but what do I know? Well, anywho, since food is not allowed on the ship, I need to make sure she won't be surviving on ice cream and soda for 4 days. We were able to work around this at WDW but the cruise may be a bit trickier. Thanks for any info...

Belle...
I know they have PB & Bananas on the kids' dinner menu so I expect you'll be able to get PB&J for your little one. But you know....those servers are amazing at getting kids to try new things so maybe the newness of the experience and the attention from your servers will convince your DD to try something different. I do know that when I took my nephew on the Wonder in August, our server went out of his way to get him a Ceasar salad (no dressing, extra croutons) from one of the other restaurants one evening. I would also recommend trying the Cruise board over at the DIS b/c I know someone will be able to give you a definitive answer there.

Actually I would think the yogurt and graham crackers would be trickier. PB&J seems to be a pretty standard offering to WDW, so I would think that would also be available on the cruise.

You could do what I did when I went to camp every summer - bring it with you just in case they tried to feed me something really gross. I'm sure they would have the wheat bread to go with it.

Thanks, Pam and Rosebud :D I will check the other site to be sure. I would be happy knowing I can get a few of her items (atleast waffles & PB&J) - i figured the yogurt would be a bust and I would hope they have some kind of kid-friendly boxed cereal (my usual breakfast fare). I just didn't want to see her eating Mickey waffles for B, L and D everyday either, lol.

Thanks again!
