OK we have our dates picked but i can't decoed what resort to do. We are going march 7-15 we are trying to keep it budget s owe can tryto make next yrs mousefest.

There will be 2 adults and our 3 kids (6,4,3) and possiably my mom . i am trying to talk her into it i told her that my father made me promise to take her(and he did) but money is overly tight for her. Shaun (my dh) told her he will pay for her hotel and tickets. she will just have food and souviners to pay for . we drive down so gass and tolls are all on us along wit hthe food on the way down and back.

So any ideas on hotels will help. Preferably onsite but will go off if we have to.

Ty in advance

Hi Buffy!

:?: Do you like to handle all the details or do you like to have someone else handle the big ones?

If you like to handle it yourself : There are some codes out for your time frame. Mousesavors is a great source to look for these codes.

Mousesavers (http://www.mousesavers.com/index.html)

If you like someone to help out: I would also suggest you contact Your Magical Journeys travel agents.

YMJ's Website (http://yourmagicaljourneys.com/)

WillCAD also has some good ideas on offsite hotels as do many others. I think they will be along soon!

Happy Planning!

My suggestion is to get two rooms, meaning two baths at a Value Resort like Pop Century. It is brand new and the location is very good for Epcot, MGM, and Animal Kingdom when you have a car, as you will. You may even be able to get a good rate for that time period at this resort. If you want to splurge, then try two rooms at a moderate like Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach, both located in the same general area.

Ask Your Magical Journeys for quotes and they will tell you what deals are available. Since you are going to Mousefest, too, then be flexible on purchasing an Annual Pass. That can get you a good rate, too. Good luck for a great rate!

We just booked Sleep Inn near the convention center for $59.95 a night and it includes a delux continential breakfast. The internet says its new. Here is the link to that: http://www.orlandosleepinn.com/ It is probably a 15 minute drive each way? Unless oyu can get the all stars for a pretty good price it may be worth looking into sicne your breakfast will be covered. We will go there in August for a couple nights then we plan to move over to the Shades of Green because we prefer on site but if money were a problem I would consider the drive part.

Budget wise, I would get 2 rooms at the All Stars (or Pop Century). This gives you 2 bathrooms, as well as 2 "separate" rooms so you can put the kids to sleep in one and rest/prepare for the next day in the other. When we go with my Dad (we have 2 teens) they take turns sleeping in Gramps' other bed. They both go to sleep in his room and we walk the other one back when it is bedtime. With 3 kids they could rotate the special "treat" of sleeping in Grandma's room. The All Stars are just great-best food court selection anywhere-and my Dad (and Mum) both think they are great.
We always do breakfast in the room while everyone gets ready (unless Gramps needed some eggs or waffles and treated!) Saves loads of time and LOTS of money. If you do afternoon naps, you could do lunch or supper-whichever works-in the room or foodcourt . The portions are huge there and if you are driving you can pack a toaster and whatever else-I know someone that brings a microwave, electric frypan for Skillet Sensations and small fridge! There are microwaves/toasters free for your use at the foodcourts. The portions are huge, and you can save lots with kids just by splitting. I hate throwing out expensive food!!! I know I often split a meal (we only do counter service) with my Dad and it was plenty for both of us. He often spent less than $10/day on food, buying lunch and supper, eating breakfast in the room, and carrying snacks in fanny packs (bits n bites, ritz bits, nuts, trail mix, fruit leather, apples, grapes, baby carrots, etc.) Everyone would choose in the morning what they wanted to have for the day. Our big treat was something frozen-perhaps once a day-tops. Mickey bars are actually calculated in our budget-which I do to the penny!

I'm going to go against the crowd and suggest the Cabins at Ft Wilderness. all six of you can sleep in the same "room" and the kitchen is a great way to save money of food. This is only if you will use the kitchen (I love breakfasts and as an early riser had no trouble getting up and making breakfast for 18 every day of our trip with the GS last summer ) Cold soda/drinks in the room and a full size kitchen with someone else doing the dishes was great. However, if you won't use the kitchen say at a Value in 2 rooms. Only down side is to cabins is one bathroom.

Another vote for the cabins. Sleeps 6 and the price is great. We're staying there for our trip since the inlaws are joining us. With our new baby, the kitchrn will be great.

First I agree with Moley about taking a look at an Annual Pass, if you are fairly serious about going to MouseFest this will be a definite savings. Secondly, I agree with the others who said to look into a Value resort getting 2 connecting rooms. We did this one year with just 4 people; me, DH and 2 sons. It was nice to have our own room, but the best was to have our own bathroom. With your 'crowd' that will be a consideration, too. I thought about some offsite suggestions, like Holiday Inn Family Suites, but the price was similar to 2 Value resort rooms and there is only one bathroom.
Good luck and have a great trip!

Hmmmmm... with your numbers, I think I'd opt for one of the Ft Wilderness cabins :D Lots of space and good economy

The cabins are so great at Ft W! The kitchen is wonderful and even has a full sized dishwasher! Even though there is only 1 bathroom, it is a good size sao actually 2 people could get ready at once if say 1 was shaving and 1 was in the shower? I dunno.
A good place to eat is the Golden Corral, this place is a buffet with everything you can imagine and the price is great as well!
