I just releases I was also confusing 'Midway Mania" with 'Muholland Madness'. I think the need a name that doesn't sound so much like another ride.

I can't picture the left side, other than if you go all the way to the left (and a bit of a left turn around a corner) you get the entrance to Screamin'. I'm going to have to drag out my pictures and see if I took a shot of the area. I was only there once, so there are parts I probably didn't notice.

Sounds like some major work going on there. JMHO - but I was never to thrilled about the shops under California Screamin, and they never did seem to be very busy. Will be interesting to see how it develops. Great work Alan, thanks for keeping us up to date.

My friends and I have been saying for years (since it opened) that they should take out some of the midway and put in a new attraction. I've never been to the burrito eatery but I did have lots of silly photos taken at the studio. :( It was fun while it lasted. Thanks for the update and photos.

DCA Took out the loop and put in tha new track loop.

I think we are confused, because loop can have 2 meanings.

There is the music loop...music that jus keeps getting played over and over. Alan has said they are changing the music, which is a shame, that's one of my favorite songs from my Disneyland CD. It really has that 'surfer' sound that gives the Pier area a beach feel.

And then there is the loop (circle) of track that goes upside down in front of the giant Hidden Mickey. (If there is another, I didn't notice it.)

I see in picture that shows Ariel's carosuel one the left side, you can still see the loop of tracks in front of the Hidden Mickey. I can't believe they'd remove that, since I would think it would mess with the engineering design of the coaster.

Alan, is there another loop that we aren't thinking of? I only went to the Pier area once, so I don't remember exactly what was in that corner, because after a quick peek I skipped the shops until I got to one over by the restaurant.

Oh my goodness, they took out coaster tracks! Other than parts, I wouldn't have thought they'd remove and entire section.

As for the music, it's a shame they are taking two attractions (Screamin' and SM) and switching to exisitng Rock songs, instead of using their own unique music. :(

Don't worry Robin - they are only switching the music temporarily. I think April 23 is the end and then they go back to normal.

Interesting. Do we know why they are doing the temporary change? It just seems to me they it's a copycat of RnR.

Now I need to go find my CD with Screamin' s theme. :)

Not 100% sure why, but I know on Space Mountain they did a special music track for last years Grad Nights which was very popular and not available to the general public. So maybe this is a way to bring people in during the slower months plus they already have the soundtrack from last year's grad nights.

And anything to bring people into DCA is a plus!

I'm looking forward to it but at the same am glad it is only temporary.

I don't know where they came from, but I thought you all might be interested.

I am wondering if the red marks are for tables or the seats for tables, so they can be bolted to the ground.

The wood is obviously a permanent structure and a food booth makes sense. When I look at the pipes, it makes me think of the kind of structure than is only enclosed in tarp. Like the the temporarly structures Epcot uses in WS. It seems a shame to block the view to the lake there.

May be Fastpass machines, We all may need is to wait and see.

I would think the scores are shown at the end of the ride, like they do at WDW with Buzz. I would also think those computers would need to be better protected.

The Fastpass machines are usually in the open and they have canvas covers to protect them.

I love trying to guess. Even if I'm wrong. :lol:

DCA is not open.

TSMM opened here in California on Tuesday; I stopped in to DCA yesterday after work and was able to slip in just before they closed the line, only waiting about 40 minutes! (apparently on tuesday the line stretched all the way out to the front of the park - almost 5 hours long!!! :o)

All I can say is -AWESOME!!! When I first got in line I asked the CM what he thought, and he told me it was 10x better than Buzz . . . he was completely right! I worked up a legitimate sweat trying to pull that cord as fast as I could! Definitely a job well done by the Mouse.
