DAY 3
Up and at ‘em! Although we’re headed to the Animal Kingdom for early entry this morning, we decided to have a lazy breakfast at the resort before we start the day. The high is only supposed to be 64º, but it sure is clear and beautiful outside, although chilly. We arrive at AK around 8:30 and see ITTBAB first. Then we head to Africa for a wonderful safari. The animals are all extremely active today, since it rained yesterday and is nice and cool today. Then, we walk the Pagani trail. The apes were everywhere! Never have we seen them play and interact so much! After the Pagani trail, we head over to the Maharajah Jungle—again extremely active animals! The tigers were simply amazing! We grab a snack of popcorn in a bucket (what DO you do with the buckets afterward?) and head over to see the Tarzan Rocks show. We often skip this show on trips to AK, but after watching it I have no idea why! It was great! After the show we get a Fast Pass for Primeval Whirl and then ride Dinosaur with a short wait. Over H & C Dinorama to ride Triceratop Spin, then its time to use our FP. We love Primeval Whirl and giggled our heads off! The small breakfast at WL was catching up with us, so we headed over to Tusker House http://www.worldisround.com/photos/1/341/309.jpg for lunch and split a rotisserie chicken dinner. Yum! Another thing we noticed about Tusker House is that the water is really good here and not swampy tasting at all—definitely will refill water bottles in here next trip! By now it’s about 1:15 and we head back to WL to catch some sun. After about two hours we head to the room and get ready to head to… umm… where could we go around 5? Epcot!
We get to Epcot and ride Spaceship Earth, M:Space (no sickness for us here!) Universe of Energy, and Test Track. Around 7:30 we decide to head over to Downtown Disney, so we take the monorail to the TTC, only to find out that you can NOT get to Downtown Disney from there! OOPS! We decide to take the monorail to the Poly and catch a bus from there. We are surprised to find that the bus stop is quite detached from the resort and without much overhead protection. This is a definite deterrent from staying there in the future. We arrive at DTD after over an hour of transportation. It’s been about 9 hours since our shared meal at Tusker House and we are HUNGRY! We spit a Margarita Pizza and Tortilla soup from Wolfgang Puck Express—mmmmm! http://www.worldisround.com/photos/1/341/313.jpg But they are not joking when they say there is little indoor seating, although we DO happen to find a table. After filling our bellies, it’s time to SHOP. And shop we did! J After making substantial damage to the credit card (and holding lots of bags), we get a Frozen White Chocolate Mocha from Ghirdelli’s (Why we got a frozen drink when it’s in the 40’s outside, we’ll never know), and catch the bus back to WL. Yawn… it’s been a long day, and we fall in to bed just after midnight.
DAY 4
What?! It’s going to be 80º today?!?! We wake up around 6:30,l eat bagels and coffee on the bus, and head to MGM for EE. The rope drops and we make the dash to ride RRC (on the first train). WOOHOO!!! Nothing like waking up to loud Aerosmith music and going 60 mph! After a fun ride, we walk on to ToT, the Great Movie Ride, Star Tours, Muppet Vision, and make it to Indiana Jones minutes before showtime! Since there is a wait for Millionaire, we go through the Haunted Mansion exhibit. It was very interesting, but they did not give you nearly enough time to explore after the video presentation. We head over to Millionaire, then to the Little Mermaid. Since this is the best day for pooltime during the trip, we head back to WL around 1, eat a quick lunch at Roaring Fork, and then soak up the rays until about 4. Ahhh, this is what Florida weather should always feel like! We go up to our room, but it is still not made. We are beginning to feel that our Mousekeeper is a little less than what we usual expect. But we can’t be too disappointed—MVMCP is tonight! Yay!
We head to the MK around 5 and ride Aladdin’s carpets and the Tiki Room (we MUST go to DisneyLand and see the original! We do so miss it). Our PS at Liberty Tree is for 6:15, but we arrive at 5:30 to see if they have anything earlier. As we sit outside on the rockers waiting, we see a woman who we think is Twirlergirl… and it is! We have hugs and hellos with Sandy and her DH Dave and get to chatting as we wait for our PS. http://www.worldisround.com/photos/1/341/449.jpg http://www.worldisround.com/photos/1/341/447.jpg Finally around 6:50 we are seated, but our table of two becomes a table for four and we share a wonderful meal with them! The characters (Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Meeko) were great, and Minnie even tried to dump Mickey for Dave! It was great! http://www.worldisround.com/photos/1/341/316.jpg We talked and talked, finding out that she had been to our little town and new someone that we knew, and finished our meal just as the first parade began. We said our goodbyes and watched the Parade. It was great, and we were thrilled to notice that it was different than the previous year’s parade. Drip… drip… uh-oh—after a beautiful day of sunshine, the skies opened up, we donned our ponchos, and continued our fantastic evening. During the party, we only rode Pooh, Buzz, and Pirates, but we did catch almost all the shows! We saw Wishes, The Night before Christmas, Belle’s Storytelling, The Snowflake Special Storytelling, and Celebrate the Season. Thank goodness the rain let up around 10, so none of the shows got cancelled (only slightly delayed). Around 12:45 we leave the MK and head over back to WL, again falling in to bed after a fun-filled day!
Part 3 still to come! :)
