View Posts Since Last Visit

Anyone else have problems with this feature lately? It seems of late this feature only works about 50% of the time for me. My last visit was last night around 821p & this morning when I tried to use the View Posts Since Last Visit it gave me the following response.

I find that if you hit reload, or bring the site up in multiple windows, OR close all other windows after displaying the site, this can occur (but not always). The date/time of your visit is stored in the database, but I'm unclear on exactly WHEN it saves this date/time.

The View Posts Since Last Visit then creates a search using that time/date. If you CLOSE all browser windows, and then return to the site, the date will be 'resaved', and now you will only see posts that were made between just a few minutes. Typically very few or none.

Somehow you are updating that date/timestamp to the current time, and then it isn't finding the new posts. I've done this to myself on many occasions. The trick is figuring out what you are doing to cause it. I try to leave my window open to the site so that I don't 'lose' the new posts.

I generally find that the little orange Square next to the unread posts to be my best way to find them. Then click the arrow and it automatically goes tot hte next unread post in that string. Its not your answer but maybe a solution when the other is failing you.

Hmm still not sure why this happens as I find it occurs the 1st time I open up the site. As soon as I open the site I click on the View Last Posts. Thanks anyway.
