Great portraits. I think getting decent portrait shots of people is the most difficult type of photography. Especially if they are at all shy and self conscious of themselves. Your shots are great and you must have a gift of making them feel at ease when they are having their picture taken.

thank you for the compliment. There is a simple trick I use for all these shots. Compose the picture in my head, then ask them to move into that location, focus and while directing them (or tell them NOT to pose), take one snap and that's it. Just be part of them (instead subject vs photographer, be 'in the same room' as the subject).
