I querried this a few months ago and have since seen others ask the same. However, now that several of you have been to WDW and back, what was your mode of transportation from the airport to your resort and back? Were you satisfied with it?

I need transportation from the airport to my hotel in Kissimmee (Radisson Resort Pkwy) just one-way on my trip down. Is the shuttle OK or to slow? Is a limo/towncar for one a worthwhile splurge (how much?) or too expensive? Do they even have taxis at the airport and would that be a good option in between the other two?

Thanks,

Nancy

Hi Nancy,

A one way with a shuttle to the Radisson will cost you $ 22.00, and will take you betwenn 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get there (Mears Shuttle).
With our Towncar service it would be $ 50.00 and about 30 minutes.
A taxi would cost the same as a Towncar but you wouldn't have your driver waiting in baggage claim for you and helping with your bags...

For any further questions or concerns feel free to contact us.

Regards.

Gregory Nicolas.

Nancy-- I've used the Mears shuttle a couple of times with very mixed quality of service. The first time we used them, it was quick, cheap and efficient. The second time we used them, it took us over two hours to leave the airport (after signing in w/ Mears). Transportation with Mears from the resort back to the airport has always been fine.

We used a towncar service last January and it was worth every penny. Quite honestly, it's not that much more expensive-- especially when you consider the value of your time.

Something to keep in mind with a taxi is that the meter is running. If you get stuck in traffic, you pay more. A towncar is a fixed rate service.

Nancy, I must agree with Trixy that the Towncar is the way to go. We have used Mears before, but that will never happen again. The time it took to get from the airport to our resort just isn't worth it. And with 3 of us, it's almost a break even to do the Towncar, the time factor really does push it over the top.
