Did anyone else participate in an on-line survey to help determine the future "shape" of DVC offerings? I am not sure how they picked up my name, but the survey was very interesting and offered a range of scenarios - room size, quality of amenities at the resort, level of service, etc, with varying minimal buy-ins and annual costs. Each scenario listed three room/resort/price options. You picked one, then indicated whether you would be likely to add on points with that option and if so, how many.
At one end of the scale were rooms about 30% smaller than current rooms, with roughly the amenities of a moderate resort, plus a bare bones kitchen. At the other end were rooms larger than those currently offered, with concierge services, espresso makers in the room, bathrobes and a choice of bed linens. It was very interesting.

Roodad,
How did DVC survey contact you; on vacation, by phone, when you called MS --- ?
The options are interesting, especially if you could mix with the current resorts. I can see myself doing a bare bones for a few days but the deluxe package with concierge services and espresso makers in the room peaked my interest.
I luv to hear more details.

I honestly don't recall how they initially contacted me, but I believe it was by telephone. I indicated I would participate in the survey and they then sent me an e-mail with a link to the survey itself. It was very well done and took about 45 minutes to complete.
I think the survey had several goals - to identify potential add-on customers from existing members; to determine what features current owners consider important in existing properties; to determine what future dvc units might look like.
At the high end, the service/amenities package sounded like concierge plus and at the lower end it sounded like conversion of moderate resorts to DVC. Not that conversion of mods was ever mentioned - just that the size, beds, etc sounded more like a moderate resort.

I had heard about this survey, but was never chosen to participate. Would have loved to have seen it. You can get a pretty good idea of where they are thinking of going by the 'leading' questions they ask in these surveys! ;)
Interesting tidbits that you shared Roodad, Thanks! I like the DVC's current level, but giving people more options (both bare bones and extravagant) could prove pretty interesting. I love options! :)

There is a thread on this survey on page 2 of pete werner's DVC forum (wdwinfo.com).

An espresso maker?! Now that would definitely get me moving in the morning.
It will be interesting to see if it impacts the direction of future DVC resorts.
I didn't get contacted about this survey, but I did get the one that was sent out a few years ago that included adding a slide to the main pool at OKW.
