Soarin' Meet hosted by kathleena and Topaz!

Time: 9:10am
Place: At the base of the entrance to the Land

International Gateway: Meet Nancy at or before 9am at the IG rope drop (inside the turnstiles). We will briskly walk to the Land immediate upon rope drop to meet up with the Front Gate Group.

Front Gate: Meet Topaz at the base of the Land

I wouldn't miss Soarin' but I rode Mission Space once and though it didn't make me sick it wasn't much fun either. Maybe Carrie can host a side-meet to a pretzel stand or something. :lol:

Nope I didn't forget. I just really wasn't impressed with the ride overall. The whole rider participation thing (Push the button now! You did it!) doesn't work for me.

It is a very pretty building though. :lol:

This was a great meet last year so please add Gary and I again for the Soarin meet. As for MS, not sure if I will have enough time before Brunch at the Ball but I wouldn't ride it anyways so just put Gary down for that one. (if you decide to do it after Soarin)

And the front row isn't any different than the other rows - except you don't see feet over you! It's really just a small bit higher and it's hard to notice the difference, you are so captivated by the film!

The boys aren't big enough for MS and hubby and I just do it occasionally through the single ride line, so I think we will pass on this one and maybe just ride Soarin twice (or ....sneak over and see Figment before the other meets later!)

Saturday looks to be busy, but I'm assuming this will be first thing in the morning again - and this time I have to race in from the International Gateway myself (unless someone with a car picks me up at the BW :D ). We can work on all the logistics over the next few months.

In the meantime, I've mulled over an Epcot version of Stop, Drop and Roll, except with Soarin' and Mission:Space (green or orange now, so we can choose our weapon!). I hope it could be squeezed in before Brunch at the Ball? What do you think???:confused: (ETA - OK so far most don't want to go to MS, so just note if you do want to go or don't and I'll keep track. Pretzels also optional! )

I'm also having a name the meet contest. :mickeyXmas: Honest to goodness prize awarded for the best name for either a Soarin' or a Soarin'/Mission:Space meet. Please submit your entries via PM.

I'm thinking we will have plenty to have two branches of the meet - one to stay at Soarin' for a second round and one to go to MS!

We are now at 40!! :D :D

I believe we have filled the first section and are now working on the second one! I think there are 10-12 seats in the first two rows and 8-9 in the third one. Not quite sure.........I'll have to count in October.

I have inner ear issues and rode MS Light once last May. Did just fine. What kinds of rides can you go on? I can't do spinning rides or Space Mountain or rides with flashing lights. But I can ride Splash, BTMR, RNRC and EE just fine.

There may be some folks who don't want to ride Soarin' twice, but they also may be heading over to the next meet Brunch at the Ball too. But it will be a play it by ear thing after the first ride on Soarin'.

Given that we were greeted with a long wait time last year, I performed a test run on Saturday, Oct 21st (was a very busy day at Epcot).

I got to the Land at 9:10 and went downstairs. The standby wait time was 10 minutes. I got my FP and went standby.

I was walking up the standby line by 9:20.

At 9:30, my flight was loaded into the waiting queue. I was off the ride and back at the entrance just in time for my FP time (I think it was 9:55). At this time, the standby time was 30 minutes.

So hopefully this year will be better, now that Soarin' is more established.

I am going to try to make the Soarin meet. I am doing the Pop breakfast meet at 7:30am for a little bit and then leave early enough to make it for 9:10 to find Topaz. (or should I call that a Scopa Towers meet)

There will be no Mission Space for this girl. At least not that early. I might go back and try the "wimp" side later in my trip.

And no, I don't do breakfast but since I'll be up and ready to go for 7:30 I might as well start Mousefesting.
