View Full Version : Heads Up on Flight Changes

I got a call last night from Delta telling me that my flight had been cancelled and they needed to reschedule me. We were able to find a flight that was just as convenient as the previous schedule. So, this wasn't a problem.

I asked them to fax and email the confirmed changes.

This morning, I looked at the fax and it had the old flight info on it. The email had the new flight info. So, I called Delta and they told me that, although the reservation had been changed, the ticket had not been changed. She made the appropriate changes and I now have a confirmation that the ticket is changed.

I have no idea what would have happened if I had just assumed that everything was taken care of and had shown up for my new flight when the paperwork wasn't handled properly. Maybe it would have been ok. But, maybe it would have been a huge nightmare.

Moral of story: If your airline changes your flight, make sure that the person making the changes knows what they're doing.

We have gone through this with Frontier. We were contacted that our flights were rearranged a bit from our original itinerary.

Fortunately, it seems that everything is all set (we got both email and verbal verification). We have to leave Disney an hour earlier than expected, but we get there an hour early as well!
