For you computer-experienced and knowledgeable folk: (That means you Tagrel, Moley, WillCAD, etc.)
Today, one of my business units began using a program for updating and keeping info in email address books called Plaxo. Since I'm not in their business unit, I don't have the scoop on it. I asked, but it seems neither do those using it!!
Does anyone have any experience with it? Can you tell if it's bad or has too much spyware or will instantly destroy my computer?
If it's fairly safe, this would be an incredible tool in my business. Heck, it would be wonderful for personal stuff, too!!!
Any help would be appreciated. www.plaxo.com

I've never heard of this one, HC. If you want to know about downloads and whether they have been associated with adware or spyware, put the brand name of the software download and the keyword "adware" into a Google search box and go. You will get lots of pages to discussion groups or Wired articles about whether or not the download has been associated with spyware.
What I saw in doing a search on it is that Plaxo doesn't seem to have a connection to adware so it seems to be a handy tool without being a nuisance. I also saw others discuss it who were skeptical of how Plaxo can be a good business if it gives its product away without some kind of commercial connection.
If you have large blocks of addresses you email regularly in a newsletter fashion, Plaxo looks as if it could be quite useful. I've not looked into it, but wonder if it is a message board forum that is personalized to your address book. It mentions contacting all those in your address book without having to email. It also says it works with MS Outlook or Outlook Express. Sorry I can't be of more help to you. If I were you, I would do some more research on it and look at forums where it is discussed by users of the download. Googling it is the best way to do this. Good luck! :)

Thanks, Moley, for you generosity with the help. I read quite a few reviews from techies and non-techies, alike. There were so many discussing how it was private/unprivate, etc. Unfortunately, not many were discussing facts.
I've asked the IT guys at one of the companies that I do work for to see if he has any idea about its credibility. Seems that, so far, it's not harmful from what I read. Time, I'm sure, will tell.
Thanks again!
