I have only stayed at All Star Sports for one night so did not get to see much of this resort & find out which buildings are best. We are not paying for the Preferred Building so can anyone tell me what building they would request or if they have a favorite building here?

On both of my stays at Sports, I was in Building 9 of the Home Run Hotel section. I was on the end of one of the wings neea the parking lot both times.
I liked it there because it was deserted. Most of the rooms in that part of the building were empty, making things not only quiet, but making the parking lot empty so I always got a great parking spot for my rental car. I was close to the lot, but not terribly far from the pool or the food court. I'd certainly stay in that area again next time I stay at Sports.

Good building if one is using only Disney transportation? And I remember once hearing about someone who actually got out at a different resort stop in All Stars because that place was actually closer to the bus stop than the actual bus stop for the resort in which the room really was. Anyone remember this?

DrBabe once when we stayed at Movies we were in the Mighty Duck Section. It was closer to walk to All Star Music Bus Stop then the Movies Bus Stop.

MargaretJ,
We stayed in the Touchdown section, building #7. I don't remember the exact room number, but it was on the second floor, first blue door to the right of the big red helmet. I thought this building was perfect for location. It was a quick walk to either pool, and a very quick walk to Stadium Hall (food court/guest services/gift shop). Our room was closer than some of the rooms in the back sections of the preferred buildings. Another suggestion about being at the Sports. You can walk to Music and onto Movies for some sight seeing, then catch a bus at Movies to go to whatever park you wish to go to that day.
Sometimes when they are busy, they can't honor every room request, but the CM told me they usually try their best to honor your first request. so I asked for the Touchdown section, rather than chosing a particular floor. The room was near the elevator and it was in a great location. Don't forget to fax your room request to 407-939-7333.
Hugs,
Carrie

My favorite Sports building? Easy:) That'd be Touchdown. It's close to the main theme pool, Stadium Hall & close to the quiet pool & laundramat there. Gotta luv the football field in the courtyard too. Especially if you've got young kids :mickeyXmas:
