Everytime I go to the DS here in SE MI, I'm frustrated when I leave. There's a CM there that never cracks a smile and is never friendly. I wonder why Disney would hire these kind of people. Yesterday I purchased my annual passes, and I mentioned the finger scanning to her. She looked at me like I was crazy and proceeded to say that she has never heard of that before and doesn't know anything about it. She made me feel pretty stupid, but then a lady who was there, piped up and said, "they require your ticket and fingerscanning". She used to work at WDW. I was glad she said something so the CM didn't think I was a total nut. I feel like I should call and complain, but who would I call?? Is there a customer service number for just the DS?? I just feel that a place like Disney or the DS should exude happiness all the time. When I'm in that store, I'm constantly smiling from ear to ear, that's what it's all about.

Call the store and ask to speak to the manager. Explain the situation to them, if you don't get a satisfactor reply ask for the regional managers phone number. That will normally take care of it, you need to go up the chain of command. Only once have I ever gone futher than this over honoring a sales promo for coupons and DVC discounts. If this is as upsetting as you say, the Disney Store will be grateful to hear about. They won't want to offend any of their loyal customers.

The problem is she is one of the managers. I looked at her nametag and I noticed her title. I also noticed a couple of other girls had managers on their nametags as well. I wonder if maybe there is a dayshift, evening and weekend manager.
I'll probably just have to go directly to the regional manager. I really hate to do this, but I'm tired of being frustrated everytime I leave the store.

I have noticed some 'not so pleasant" CM's at our Disney store too. While I realize that dealing with the public can be hard, I at least expect the DS to be an extension of "the happiest place on earth'.
I hate to hear that. I am a Disney Store Cast Member and hate to hear of your treatment. If I am having a bad day I leave it at the front door, I hope that you get a satisfactory answer. I always love selling Disney passports, our guests are so excited about their trips, it is catching!

I'm as grumpy and gloomy a person as you will ever meet (outside fo a mental hospital), but in all the jobs I've ever had where I had to deal with the pulic, I made darn sure to be as polite, friendly, and helpful as I could. I expect no less when I walk into a McDonalds or Disney Store, and I tried my best to give that kind of treatment to all of my customers.
Wanda, I think you should definitely talk to the regional manager in your area. What happens when a first-time Disney vacationer buys passes from that rude woman? Not only will her attitude sour them on the first part of thier experience, but she's obviously not very knowledgable about WDW in general and may be giving out bad information! We Disney veterans have an obligation to protect the unsuspecting newbies from bad info that could ruin thier trips or make thier kids miss out on some Magical experience.

Thanks for all your advice, I think I will go ahead and call the regional manager. Hopefully next time I go in there she'll have a smile from ear to ear!!!!
