I'm home now for a few days and Disney withdrawal hasn't hit me yet thankfully. Writing the reports has prolly delayed it a bit. That and I'm waiting for my package to arrive from DTD. Despite the injury I had a great time. Meeting up with Dar, Heidi, Carol-Anne & Steve C made the trip worthwhile.

My final time at Disney was a half day. My good luck tradition is alway to go into the MK and go on Pirates as my last ride of the trip. It's my way of saying I'll see you again some day WDW. The 10 AM opening of Adventureland is still a pain. I'd of been able to hit Pirates once on the way to HM and another time out of the park had it been open. I wonder how many other family's plans this has messed up. I'll tell you though the ECV this trip has been a blessing and sort of an E-Ticket ride in itself. Not that I want to ride one next trip to Disney if I could walk the parks but I'd never be hesitant about it if I needed too. Too often I've seen my family members not wanting to use one but being so tired after walking a while, returning to their room and not budging. Plans would be cancelled, shows and restaurants not done and usually this person would remark they didn't have a good time. Stubborness can spoil vacations. I was darned if I'd let an injury ruin mine so I burned a bit of plastic to do it. My next trip to Disney I'll budget for an ECV is all and if I find I can walk without problems........well that much more dollars for gifts .

After POC my original plans were to have lunch at Crystal Palace but the Adventureland late opening ate up the margin of time I needed to turn in my scooter & return to the hotel. Getting back to Music worked out better than if I had planned it. I met Heidi & Carol-Anne getting on their bus to the parks as I got off mine. What a happy accident We wished each other well and said our goodbyes Then a quick lunch in the food court and I killed a few minutes before FTC arrived to take me back to the airport. I used Song's curbside check-in which took less then 5 minutes. Security Check Thru inside the terminal took a little more then a half hour.

A few other things before I close. I didn't mention Heidi & Carol-Anne joined me for breakfast one morning at Chef Mickey's. We took a cab there since we'd be eating at 7:30AM. It was fun, the food was adequate but not spectacular and the wait staff tip top. Would I do it again? Unless I was hosting a do there or my own family on their first trip to WDW prolly not again for breakfast for a while. There's a lot of other breakfasts character or "normal" I haven't seen yet. Another thing I'll mention is I used Netgrocer.com to ship breakfast and snack items to All Star Music. It was convienient because it saved me time and the expense of taxiing to Goodings or having FTC stop off. One other thing. A Gypsy Driver tried to pick me up at Music saying he was from FTC. When I said I prepaid the ride he said "I must be waiting for another driver". When Ken, my FTC arrived as scheduled (IN HIS FTC MARKED CAR) I asked him about this. He'd said he'd seen him around but unless he was brought in specially he wasn't a FTC regular driver. So always mention you prepaid for a ride and let the driver tell you what service he's from first at your resort. I've been reading more and more about the Gypsy pickups on different boards that's why I was suspicious.

Any Questions about the trip?? Fire away

Thanks for the great trip reports. This trusting soul did not realize that there were gypsy cabs around WDW, so thanks for that tip. Learned something from each of your reports. Heal that leg, and I hope you are back up and running soon!

The Gypsy's are at the airport too. But since your towncar's first contact and payment for services is usually on the first leg of the trip they'll rarely be late.

The knees coming along Bookwood. There's some pain but Aleve generally is all I need. Walking my "normal" distances around the house and food shopping I'm doing ok. I doubt I could walk themepark distances yet though. I'd still need an ECV if I was at WDW.
