do we need a passport to cruise in june, 2006? i wasn't sure if we only needed our birth certificates. thanks in advance!

You don't need a passport to cruise until 12/31/06. Before that you just need your license and original birth certificate.

That being said we got our passports last year before we went on the 3 day cruise because I think that as it gets closer to the end off the year the government will be overwhelmed with people getting passports.:yes:

I'm going to Bermuda:hammock: at the end of May & Hubby & I got our passports anyway....they're good for 10 years,so why not get 'em now & beat the rush?:letsgo:

You don't even need your b/certificate right now - BUT if you have it, even better. Just proper driver's license and possibly another ID.

Am I wrong??

Not sure if you are wrong.....I thought I remembered from our Dec cruise that you needed the birth cert???:confused: I guess I will know for sure in a week or so when I get our cruise doc's for our 7 day May 13th!!:D

I'll update then...unless someone else knows for sure whether or not you need it???

Yes, you are wrong. Just went in March and my parents both needed their original BC with a raised seal and were concerned because they were old NY BCs (we're talking born in 1929 and 1939) and mom wasn't sure if the seal was raised until she pulled them from the safe deposit box. I would go ahead and get passports now because you will need them in the future and it will be easier to get them now than later.

okee dokee - I stand corrected. wasn't sure, as I have always had my passport
