Looks like through Expedia.com I can get a compact car for 16 days for just under $400.00 -- I think that is a great price. It is with Thrifty.

I normally would not rent a car for a trip to WDW but we have this relative meeting obligation and we need a car for that. We are staying at the All Stars and several people are making me nervous about the buses from there. We switch to AKL for the last few days and I really don't think we need a car then.

I usually use a towncar to and from the airport! So HELP!

What to do- What to do!

You could try renting from National onsite for just a few days when you need a car instead of the whole trip.

You could try the trip without renting a car at all. Since you are used to that, it wouldn't hurt you much except for the meeting relatives part. You can explaint things to them ahead of time and I'm sure you could arrange your meeting to work around your lack of wheels.

You could probably get an even cheaper rate from Thrifty if you use the cupons available from Sams club; you'll get a discount and also a free upgrade from Economy to Compact at time of pick up.

I ALWAYS rent a car when I go to Disney, so I'm spoiled. If you usually don't, then it won't be such a big deal for you. But try it this once and see how you like having your own wheels.

Gosh for that length of time I think I would want a car. However like Will said you could just rent for the days you need. If I get to go you know you can always get a ride with me. I usually don't drive to the 4 Parks but always drive to Downtown Disney & will probably drive to the Fort Wilderness Meet.
