WillCAD kicked off a great thread talking about some new meets this year. Loved the new ideas.

How about we start trying to flesh out a schedule to help with planning? We want to avoid overlap, and since we'll be following the MouseFest schedule - meets should be in the park of the day (at least, during park hours!)

Thursday - (MK Day)
No dates announced yet, but it should be MVMCP night.
I'm sure there will be another Fireworks meet planned.
Other than that, what would we like to planFriday - (AK 9a - 2p) (remember travel time to MGM if switching parks)
Much talk of an Everest Meet. It would be good if it did not collide with Deb Wills Safari (assuming she has it again this year). Maybe we could grab EE Fastpasses and then run to Deb's meet? Open to any ideas.Friday - (MGM 2p - closing) (remember travel time from AK)
We NEED Stop, Drop and Roll. What time? Hosts? :)
Other meets? Fantasmic? Osbourne Lights?
Are we up for another Gift Exchange this night? (8 or 9pm?)Saturday - (Epcot)
Brunch at the Ball again this year?
Mega Mouse Meet (typically 1pm - 3pm)
others? Soarin? Mission Space? Test Track? Tree Lighting? CP? Illuminations?
Karaoke Meet? (After 9pm - ddoll and Geri)Sunday (MK)
Buzz Meet? Space Mountain? Dole whip? Pirates? Parade? Scavenger hunt?
nighttime meets?Monday (MGM)
Anyone still here? :)
Meets?:mickeyXmas::mickeyXmas: OK - lets start sharing ideas and thoughts! :mickeyXmas::mickeyXmas:

Geri and I will be there and will gladly host the karaoke meet on Saturday. It's become the highlight of our trip and something we look forward to doing.

We always have made the official time "after 9pm", as that's when karaoke starts.

Is there any interest in having a meet for the kiddos? I'd be happy to host it...

I'll be there through Wednesday, and hoping to meet up with all of you again this year! It was so nice tagging along with Kaycee last year and meeting everyone! Everyone was super nice!

There is no master list yet - that is what we are going to do now.

We can gather lists of meets and interested hosts, and then work from there.

I would also be willing to co-host one of the meets. Planning to make more meets this year since I won't be taking any tours this time.

How about if Susan and I host the Gift Exchange again this year?
We'll let you know where and when as soon as we figure it out :mickeyXmas:

I have never been to Mousefest before. I will be arriving at WDW on Saturday, 12/9. Don't know when yet, but am going to try for 1st flight out of Manchester.

I would be willing to help anyone out if they need it.

The kids gift exchange was fun. Tyler slept through most of it, but my niece Morgan liked it a lot.

I won't be bringing kids to MouseFest this time.:mickey:

I was thinking...

The Gift Exchange meet was great. I hope Susan and Christine do it again. What about having it at Pop or POR or POFQ since a lot of Taginators will be staying there and won't have to worry about transportation back to the resort after a late meet? I got this idea from BriarRose's trip report when she mentioned a lobby in POR being big, having a bar, perfect place for a gift exchange.

Carrie, as I was reading your post, I was also thinking that POFQ ahs Scat Cats lounge there also, with the food court being close by. You could get anything you'd need and there is quite a bit of room, anyone else think so?

Ooh-ooh, I want to try Scat Cats! Isn't that the place with the cool piano player?
:woot: Can we do that??

That's my favorite Lounge!!! Not that I know them all  but I really like Elliot - he plays Sax. Oh, ddoll, you're thinking of Bob over at POR..

Scat Cats would not be a great place for the gift exhange because it's not all that big and Elliot would be there on a Friday night. How about if we have a Scat Cats Meet just to enjoy Elliot's music? Or a meet over at POR to listen to Bob?

POR has a real comfy lounge, but Bob is right there in the bar area on Weds thru Saturday and draws a big crowd. Maybe we could have the gift exchange before Bob arrives?

Susan mentioned making a ressie for 50 at Whispering Canyon. Last yr I think one of the reasons we had such a big turn out was becasue we sort of combined 2 meets: Gift Exchange and WL Meet.

BriarRose is going to join Susan and I as hosts this year!!! :mickeyXmas:

It's going to be so much fun!! :mickeyXmas:

Carrie

Ooh, eating at Whispering Canyon would be fun if we were having that exchange at the WL. And I know just the waiter we should request. Does anyone remember the guy that came down and sang Rudolph with us? I remember it was a short name. Tom? Bill? Ben?

Oh, and I will be there on Monday, just not sure if I can participate as the whole gang will be there and I wouldn't feel right leaving them. Now if something enticing comes along - like a Stop Drop and Roll on Monday AM - then I would try to get them to go with me!

I would be happy to host a PoC meet. With all the refurbishments it may be the first time for many of us to see it after it reopens in July. I just love that ride..............Yo ho, Yo ho the pirate's life for me.............:happypirate: :jollyroger:

Carrie

Ya know, I had never been on PoC before until last MouseFest. I went on it and it was kind of neat. I only got the chance to go on it once, so I'll look forward to riding it again after the refurbishment.

Hi,

I co-hosted the Brunch At The Ball Meet with zakerdog last December 3, and would be glad to do that again. A POTC meet sounds wonderful. I think it's my favorite ride in all of WDW.

Jim, I with you for the Brunch at the Ball meet again this year if you want :mickeyXmas:

Last year we had an "informal" POTC meet after the Dole Whip meet, it was great fun.

Just a thought about the Gift Exchange meet - The back room at POFQ is vacant, I know they use it for pin meets, perhaps it could be made available. ( it used to be the full service dining room there)

I will be making my first trip to WDW during Mousefest this December and am very excited about meeting some fellow Disney fans!!
:mickeyXmas: I will be staying at the Pop Century for the first time, too.

I arrive on the morning of Friday December 8 & leave on the afternoon of Monday December 11, so if anyone would like some help with a meet during that time, please let me know.

Alicia,

Did you see that Disney is auditioning for a roaming Jack Sparrow character for the POC area??? You may actually get a photo with a fairly reasonable facsimile ;) . We will have to find him for the group meet photo!

Or what about an attraction based on Hook?

I'd love to see the Dustin Hoffman-style Hook, or the Robin Williams-style Peter, or the Bob Hoskins-style Smee.

Julia Roberts as Tink was kinda cute, too.

I would love it if you would co-host! Frogman is going to too. I don't think 3 is too many particularly when we're all newbies at the hosting game.

We'll have to exchange some ideas in PMs or something :) I want to know what park...

I'm wondering if there might be an "official" treasure hunt at Magic Kindgom? I think I remember that on the list of meets last year (and was bummed I couldn't go cause it was too early on Thursday). So about another park?? When are you and Frogman arriving Miss B??

Topaz
05-20-2006, 10:42 AM
There was a scavenger hunt put on by Mouseplanet. And it was a hoot. Thank heaven I was on a team, 'cause I'm not too good at spotting things. I think it was Thurs, MikeS would know. Maybe he knows when this year's will be.

So I hope Miss B does one too. I would sign up for both!!!

MissBianca

Frogman and I are arriving the Wednesday. I would most love to do an Epcot one, I wonder if we have a day when that would fit in.

I know they had Hidden Mickey hunts in each park last year. Wish I had made one! And there was that great one at the MK.

Definitely a team thing! Maybe something where you have to take a digital picture with some of the answers so it proves you were there?

How about after the "brunch at the Ball" meet before the "Mega Mouse meet" (or at least ending so hunters can still go to Mega mouse?)
