I start buying things that I know I will need for my Disney Vacation months before I leave. Things like Sun Tan Lotion, Toilitries, Film, Camera Batteries, Gum etc. My question to you is: Do you include these little extras when budgeting your trips?
Nope .....that WOULD blow the budget LOL...and I might not ever go...if I ever talleyed what the trip actually cost, I would never go.....such a practical guy here :confused2:

I tend to buy some toilitries in bulk normally. When I see things like shampoo, contact cleaners, face washes, razor replacement blades, shaving cream, and such on sale I'll buy a bunch and store them in a closet. So then I always have them on hand. I also buy bug spray and suntan lotion when I see it on clearence at Target. That way, I don't feel like I'm spending a fortune right before we go away.

I don't as I usually have all I need "in stock" at home. I might have to buy gum, but sunscreen and toiletries are always around-I'm a bulk bargain shopper too!

As I take ALOT of pictures at WDW, I include the cost of film, batteries and film developing in my budget. I don't inlcude toiletries and such, because I too buy them when they are on sale, and stock up.
When I do my trip budget, I subtract out how much I would have spent on food and entertainment if we had stayed home, because this is money we would have spent anyway.
We have put ourselves on a very tight budget to be able to afford the kind of trip we enjoy at WDW, without going into debt. To me, it's worth it to skip a few extras now, so we can "go all out" on vacation! This year we will have everything payed for before we leave home! No fat bills to worry about when we return. Yahoo!

I also purchase things on sale and just use what we have for the trip. I also wouldn't count emergency items bought on the trip (new car tire last trip) a sthose are things we would have had to get and will use not "just for Disney". In fact unless you go hog wild on eating out lots of the food budget is everygay expenses as well. I'm pretty sure we all eat everyday.

Since most of these things are things I need and use anyway, I don't budget for them. However those last minute trips to the drug store right before we leave can really add up!

I don't budget for these things either as I too purchase on sale and in bulk. These would be regular items my household would stock anyway so they would be included in the regular household budget.

Most of the toiletries we use are things that we would use anyway - so no. Though, like said earlier, we budget film (except for this upcoming trip where we are not budgeting for film, but for a digital camera!)
