I'm considering at stay at All Stars Sports during my Spring Break for I'm planning to take my grandson since it's his birthday time, too. The plane fares during this time to Florida are enough to give one heart failure, so All Stars will help balance the budget a bit. I'd very much appreciate hearing people's experiences here. Thank you.

Hey DrBabe,

What a cool Grandma you are taking your granson. I'l bet he is excited.

We've stayed at All Star Sports before and thought it was pretty good. We needed two room for two nights in November 2001 and got a great price of $49 for the room. I was a little nervous as we had never stayed there before and we were takiing my inlaws. My inlaws can be a little snooty and I was afraid the All Stars would not be up to her standards. I will tell you my inlaws loved it, and so did we. We were in the tennis section, had adjoining rooms that were spotless, and they felt roomy enough for us. My sons loved the pool and everyone enjoyed the food court. My inlaws did enjoy there stay there, in fact, my MIL said the food court there had the best quasadia(sp?) she ever had.

I will mention though, that there was something going on with tons of teens while we were there, and they were running around until about midnight. It did not bother us that much, because we tend to be up late while away.

I would stay there again.

You are a great grandma!! I've stayed at the Allstar Sports many times. Normally, we stay in the Surf's Up building which is a preferred building. The rooms are themed great, and as a family of 4, we find it roomy enough. My kids love the pools there and the food court is one of the best I've tried on Disney property.

I've found bus service to be very good. The busses come quickly although at park closing, plan on standing.

Another good building close to Stadium Hall is Touchdown building. I love all of the Allstars. There is just something about all that hustle and bustle that just screams Disney to me.

Have a great trip.

Also, you might want to consider Pop Century. We are thinking of that for Spring Break ourselves.

I have stayed at all of the All Stars many times but only one night at Sports last December. The room was very clean & in good condition. Bus Service at these resorts tend to be crowded but efficient. You very rarely have to wait long for a bus but you will always have a full load. Sports is usally the 1st stop. Food Court at All Stars is a big hit with my son, lots to choose from.

Thanks for the responses. I had thought about Pop Century when I was just thinking of going alone, but thought a soon to be 5 year old would better understand and enjoy All Star Sports. Both the kids are staying with me this weekend, and I'll ask him what is favorite sport is. I'm betting he is going to say football, because his dad has played college football and semi-pro football. Thanks again.

I just remembered that there is a review of the All Star Sports in REVIEWS. You might want to check it out also.

Unless you Grandson is really into sports consider All-Star Movies also. All the above can be said for that resort (except it's last on the bus route). And the theming is wonderful for that age group. I love it myself.

I've stayed at ASSP twice (and ASMU 3 or 4 times, lost track). I love all the All-Stars; to me they are the most Disney-esque of all the Disney resorts. They have bright colors, huge icons (like Buzz and Woody and Herbie at ASMO, musical instruments at ASMU, and sports equipment at ASSP), two big pools each, and great food courts. The rooms are smaller than the moderates, but perfectly fine for a solo traveller like me or a couple with one or two small kids. Beware the Turbo-Flush toilets, which sound like an airplane taking off; they may initially frighten your grandson unless you warn him ahead of time and make a game out of it.

Sheryl, your MIL and I are of a mind about the chicken quessadillas at the All-Star food courts. I think they're great and I get one any time I stay at an All-Star resort. I also like the breakfast platters.

Personally Will, I loved the philly cheesesteaks they served there. Got one to split with my Dh and he ended up going to get his own. We thought the food court there was very good.

All Star Sports are the best! We've stayed there 3 times and my boys loved it. AS Sports is the first resort on the bus line, so you get all the first buses and are first dropped off at night. Go, fight, WIN!!!
