We'll be leaving in a month for our cruise. The pirates night will be new for us this time. Does anyone have any tips for an enjoyable night?

Get some rest that day so you can stay up for the fireworks after dinner.

They had a buffet with it the week of our cruise. I think this is standard. I wouldn't skip my regular meal for the buffet, but it did look good if for some reason your dinner was light.

Try to get to dinner because they pass out souvenir bandanas. The kids will love them and they are a great cruise souvenir.

Don't be afraid to dress up as a pirate. Lots of people did and they had a great time.

The starboard side of the ship(as you are facing the front of the ship, the right side) is the best place to view the fireworks. Deck 10 is the best place to see the whole pirate show but it gets super crowded fast. Get there early and you might get lucky enough to get a chair next to the railing.

I'm so pleased for you that you have a cruise in just a month! :napkin: Have the best time! Disney cruises are a wonderful experience. :D

The dessert buffet is to die for!!! They have TONS of delicious treats to eat (right, Dave??) while they have the pirate dance party, complete with surprise guests and fireworks. It was a really great, but late, night - get some rest!

Also, if you have kids, you may want to pick them up a pirate costume before hand - they are sure to be invited on stage when they are dressed up like their fellow buccaneers!

We had a fantastic time!

When we went in Dec we LOVED the pirate night!! Both DS and DD had pirate costumes...and DD got pulled up on stage to dance BY HERSELF with the pirates!!:) She loved it!! DS is just too cool(I guess) at age 9 that while he was fine wearing the costume didn't go on stage until there were about 15 or so other kids up there. Anyways...it's not to be missed...can't wait till we go again in MAy!!

Say, what about adults?:D

I have a blast at Pirate night. Got some cool stuff from Pirates of the C store in Magic Kingdom. Also got those black "chains" like for prisioners and went in and kidnapped our server! They had a riot!

I have to agree with everone, Pirate Night is a rip roarin good time. The buffet looked wonderful, but we were too full from dinner to enjoy it as we had the late dinner seating. There were so many people dressed up and I wished I had brought a little something to dress up with. I will definitely not be shy and take something along next January.

It took me long enough to get a picture to post. We did dress up for Pirate Night, and it was wonderful. Unfortunately, Leia had a 24 hour stomach bug and couldn't join us. Not sure how to post the picture; however, here is the link.

Don't laugh at the lack of bells and whistles on the page. I'm not a web designer. I just try to accommodate the family with pictures. . .

Those are great fun! But I see no shots of Captain Shane - this confirms my vampire theory.

we loved pirate night!! my kids (13 & 16 at the time) had a blast. as others have said, they do supply bandanas, but a lot of people had their own pirate attire, it was awesome! my biggest tip would be, don't wait until pirate night to buy pirate gear if you're getting it on the ship. the store was PACKED that night. we went to castaway cay that day, so anyone with little kids may want to give their little ones a nap before the party. we had a late dinner & didn't get a good view of the party after. so we stood outside of aloft teen club & were able to watch a lot of the characters come out to go down to the stage. i posted before, i have a great picture of a pirate & me. he was standing waiting for his turn to go down to the stage & we asked if we could get a picture. he was very nice (cute too!). you are going to have so much fun, enjoy!!
