September 3rd, the final day.

I didn’t sleep well and we both woke up in plenty of time to get ready for our 8:00 PS at Boma’s. We called the Bellman to get our bags and went ahead and paid our room chages of a whopping 35 cents! Our friends from Germany, Norbert, Jutta, Lukas and Carolin drove us to Boma’s and LindaB, joined us too. Elayna was a little disappointed that Duchess was not there but soon her tummy reminded her that it needed nourishment and she changed her focus to what she wanted for breakfast. I have to say I love EVERYTHING about AKL. As soon as I walk in there my blood pressure drops and I immediately become relaxed. Back to the story. We had a wonderful breakfast and great conversation among friends. My friends from Germany speak outstanding English and even their youngest Carolin who has had no formal education in English does remarkably well It is really a blessing to get to spend time with them. I do not have an overly adventurous spirit when it comes to trying new foods but that is what I love about Boma’s. Because it is a buffet I don’t stray away from trying new dishes and it is amazing at how many things I do like! Elayna stuck to the basics, but had plenty to eat.

After a huge breakfast, Norbert took Linda, Elayna and I to her room at ASM and we changed to our swimsuits. Jutta and her kids headed to catch a bus to Typhoon Lagoon since there wasn’t room in the car for all of us(I told you they were a great family!). We made it to Typhoon Lagoon a few minutes before opening and got Elayna a life jacket and staked out a place near the wave pool and kept on the lookout for Jutta and her kids. Elayna LOVED the wave pool, but was getting a little too adventurous for Grandma Linda’s liking! Grandma Linda and I wanted to do the lazy river raft ride so we much to Elayna’s chagrin left the wave pool. Elayna was not to thrilled with the lazy river ride and asked several times when are we going to leave this ride! I don’t like it. I not too patiently told her I didn’t care if she liked it or not, I did like it and she needed to hush. Well, that worked for a few minutes, and then I just tried to ignore her. When we finally decided we had experienced enough of the ride, and told Elayna it was time to stop, then she got upset and wanted to stay on. Linda went to look for Jutta and kids and Elayna and I headed back to the wave pool. After just a few minutes in the wave pool, Carolin found us and showed us where they had put their stuff. They had gotten a covered picnic table! Unfortunately they had waited an HOUR for a bus to Typhoon Lagoon and had just arrived. I felt so guilty! Soon we all located each other and we all went up to ride the family raft ride. Linda decided at the last minute she rather take pictures of us and so we parted ways. I love this ride, especially when someone helps me carry the raft up all those steps! It is a really tame ride, but still lots of fun. I would have done it again, but the stairs had both Elayna and myself huffing and puffing. We headed back to the wave pool for a few and then right before time to leave Elayna got the courage to go down the slide. We were all sad to leave but it was 1:00 and Mears was coming to pick us up at 2:00 so we had no choice. The Haselman’s hospitality continued as they let us use their showers and fed us lunch before we went to meet Mears. This time we were lucky as we were the last people to be picked up and the first to be dropped off at the airport. Just my luck-the good luck starts on our way home, lol.The plane ride was uneventful and a friend was waiting at the airport to pick us up. We got home about 8 and was asleep by 9:00.

Coming up next-Summary of lessons learned(Serious this time).

Thanks for sharing breakfast at Boma's - felt like I was there with you - oooh I can't wait to try that restaurant and the AKL - I'm going to start looking for some special value - maybe we can stay there afterall

Poor Scamp always mentions the waterparks at WDW - and we tell him the same thing each time - 1. It's too cold - we usually are there Dec - May and 2. we did not come to WDW to go to waterparks

I do enjoy reading about the waterparks though - ackk I don't like carrying the rafts up the steps either - they need to put in tram cars for us : ) Maybe we'll hit one or two of them in the Summer when we go - we will be there for our first time in the Summer - so I guess that "it's too cold" excuse won't work : )

Isn't there one part of the raft ride where you go under a waterfall? I heard some folks talk about in a bad way - that it practically drowns them - did you have this experience?
