The regular price has gone up this year from $185 to $200, but They've dropped off Knott's Berry Farm and replaced it with Universal Studios. :mickey: Costco members can get them for $15 less, but they don't have the new passes out yet, as the 2005 ones are good until Mar 30th

For those unfamiliar with them, you get a 3 Day Hopper to DL and DCA, and 1 day passes to Universal, Sea World San Diego, and your choice between the San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park. The DL Hopper also includes 1 EE admission into one of the parks, the same as AAA offers. They expire 2 weeks after the first use, like all DL tickets. Since regular 3 Day Hoppers are $169 (although there's usually some kind of deal running) if you're looking to do any of the other parks while in S California, the city passes are a real savings. Santa wanted to put a couple in my stocking, but unfortunately there's no way we could have gotten there before the 2005 ones expired and the 2006 ones didn't go on sale until Jan 3rd. :x

Is Universal Studios in the Anaheim area? I assume it is. Do you think it would be worth a day or 1/2 a day trip if you were at DL for a long weekend?

Ummm... Mapquest puts Universal exactly 35.9 miles from DL (I-5 to 101)

And SeaWorld San Diego exactly 92 miles from DL. (straight down I-5)

Reality makes that about 45-60 minutes to Universal and 2-2 1/2 hours to San Diego, depending on time of day, traffic, how fast you're willing to drive, etc.

yes mile is off but the traffic is heavy on week days and weekend it is spots. I tell you map say hour for universal but it take me one half to two hour start at noon from disneyland. LA fwy are bad with traffic.

Universal is fun and if you like to do all the rides you would probably spend the whole day. It just depends how much time you have and how much of that you want to devote to DL and DCA and of course how busy the parks are.
