Cranky!!! :celebrate: It is always happy hour when you appear! I have made the Drink of the Day an art form onboard ship, but I lack the staying power to make it an all year event. Oh that I need your mentoring mind.

I'm not much of a crafty person, so this room doesn't get all my visits, but the title "Cocktail" made me look. I have truly missed your drink recipes, Kathi, and would love to hear some!

I'm not sure what the right place for Mother-in-Law stories is, but I always love those too.

I see it as a craft Kathi but since my gut is messed up I can't enjoy them anymore. Of course collecting the and trying the lesser known regional ones seems a fun way to practice the hobby.

Sounds like a hobby to me! :eat: We don't imbibe too often, but once in a while its great to have a new recipe to try.

this is my kinda topic. Kathi knows i like a cocktail or 6!!! over the holidays I had a great and simple drink! Just add pineapple juice, cranberry juice and ameretto stir and add some ice! I don't know portions I just test as I go along, however I DID use a whole bottle of ameretto in the pitcher I made...but it was a small one :P

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I can't promise drink of the day (I am a mother now after all) but drink of the week is definitely doable. I also think my buddy SueV can help come up with some great ones too. (And as luck would have it, she lives close enough to me that we can probably get together and test them out once in a while!!)

This week, as some of you know - has NOT been a good one. So the drink of this week is most definitely single malt scotch...neat. But maybe next week I will be in a more festive mood!!

Looking forward to lots of fun over here with all of you!

This could be a VERY interesting topic in this forum. For those Non-consumers, there is always the non-alco versions. Hey, does wine-making tips fall under here as well?

We tried to make Moley proud on our recent Disney Cruise--drinks of the day are great (but we didn't get pictures of all of them). Here some of the libations we enjoyed on our recent trip. Enjoy!

Ooooh, AliKat - I can tell we are going to get along very well!!! Not only do you appreciate a good drink...you take photos of them!!!

Now - do you also photograph food? (I will admit that we do.)

Thanks for sharing the excellent photographs! Looks like everyone is having a fun time (and you are very lovely- BTW).

Hmmm....sure wish I had some frozen concoction right here now! (Hey - it's 5:00 somewhere!)

Kathi,

Let's do up a special pitcher of margaritas. You can make them frozen if you like! To the traditional recipe (tequila, lime, etc), let's add a shot of Cointreau. :shots:

And maybe a cabana boy, too.

Ohhh, that sounds perfect Sandar! I like my up or on the rocks....I like frozen pina coladas and daqueris.

I like strawberry margaritas with some ameretto tossed in (like SueV, measuring isn't all that important to me!)

Definitely will go with the cabana boy serving up the drinks!

Isn't that why Mimosas were invented, to begin with?

kathi

Exactly Kat!!! I don't really worry all that much about the 5:00 thing anyway..but mimosa don't count at all.

My mom bought a lot of champagne for Christmas (we do have a ton of guests). We get up and start drinking mimosa's at about 7 am when we start cooking. Our goal is to have at least a slight buzz before my MIL shows up. (She makes my mom a bit batty also - but really she is much better than she used to be.)

A friend of ours made the most wonderful drink concoction on NYE. It was called Parrothead Punch and was made with Cpt Morgan's Parrot Bay, Chambord, and some juices and other yummy things.

He told me he got the recipe on idrink.com, but I couldn't find it myself. I'm gonna have him fork the recipe over Friday when I see him.

But that website is quite the treasure trove of drink recipes!
