Since we are getting prepared for our December trip - I was wondering where the rest of you going in December will be staying?

Why did you choose the resort you did?
Have you stayed there before during the holidays?
What are you most looking forward to with your resort choice?

I'm staying off-site at an AmeriSuites I found on the web:

http://www.valuetrips.com/AMS/FL/ORLB.htm

I chose it because it was very cheap for that week ($49 a night for a TCB suite with king bed), and because I know the AmeriSuites name as a good quality national chain catering to business travellers.

Never stayed there before, holiday or otherwise. But I've stayed at hotels cold in the past, and I'm not worried. I'm sure I'll enjoy the place.

I'm looking forward to staying there because I'll be getting a two-room suite with a king-size bed, executive desk, fridge/mocrowave/coffe maker, continental breakfast, snacks, and a few other perks, all for less than the the price of a room at the All-Stars.

I love the location, too, right off Oceola Parkway, not much farther away from any of the WDW parks than AKL.

We have stayed at the Contemporary before and loved being on the Monorail, so we are staying there again in December. We also loved the Polynesian, but our checkbook couldn't handle it this year.

Hi, Kathi! We've stayed so many times at the Beach Club that I'm a little nervous about switching BUT we're going to try the Poly this time! Yep! Concierge, view, we're going to have it all! We wanted to try the island feel and be at a monorail resort for a change, but I know I'm going to miss the BC and its fabulous access to the World Showcase.

Miss B.

I'm sure you are going to LOVE poly concierge!! My friend Sheri has stayed there a number of times in concierge and speaks very highly of it. What view do you have? Castle? That's my dream - to someday stay at the Poly and be able to lay in bed at night and watch the Castle change colors!!

Give us a full report when you get back!

Arriving very late on Dec 4th, and spending that night at the All Stars Music. Next day we move over to the VWL DVC for our first stay in a studio. Just Kristen and I this trip, and really looking forward to that wonderful WL theming with all the Christmas decorations. LOVE it there! :)

Last year stayed at POFQ, really loved it. This year it is POR Dec 13-18. Would have liked to stay at WL, but my frugal DD pointed out that we could eat at nicer restaurants for the difference. Also want to make use of our renewed AP's, so we will beging twice more in the next year. Right now it's quantity for us, several short trips. Someday I WILL stay at the Poly, Contemporary, and WL.(have already done GF). Actually I would someday like to stay at all the Disney properties, but so far I can't seem to hit that lottery!!

Hi,

I'm staying at the All Star Music from December 3-14, 2003. I don't think my checkbook can handle a moderate, let alone a deluxe. In 2000 I stayed in All Star Sports, building Surf 1 room 1121 which was smoking optional. I wanted to do a different All Star, and though I could've had Movies, I told my travel agent that I was more of a music fan than a movie fan. I'm looking forward to meeting many of you!

Hi Kathi,
I am staying at Boardwalk Villas(my home resort with DVC), We were there for Christmas last year and it is beautiful. Could not believe they plant the poinsettas in the ground and there are so many of them. Also the resort has a Christmas scene made out of chocolate in the lobby which was really neat as well as it smelled wonderful. I am looking forward to meeting as many of my Disneyholic friends as possible. I think I am about 50 days to go now(will know for sure when I post this) I hope we get a chance to meet too. I love your picture!

Hi! This trip we are staying at GF and then moving to BCV. First time at GF. We typically stay at the Polynesian for the MK portion of our trips. Since this is a "try something new" trip we decided GF because we liked their Holiday look and of course monorail location. We love Beach Club/Epcot area and always stayed there. Now with DVC, BCV is our Home so we of course need to stay there for holiday visit.

I will be at the Allstar Music. It was the cheapest rate I could get and when booking thought I'd be travelling alone. Now I have a co-worker joining me, but the low room rate was part of his attraction to coming along. He's a WDW newbie who never before had any desire to go to the House of Mouse. Who knew such people existed?

RAMSON.....HELLO it's so good to see you!!! I've missed you (and our food discussions!).

Glad you are getting to Disney at Christmas. I think you may be there the same time as Brian and I (haven't done the countdown thing yet. I may be too stuipid to figure it out).

Well, I'll be wishing I was at WL again. Spent last year at holiday time there and fell in love with the gigantic Christmas tree in the lobby *sigh* Who knows, maybe Santa will come through?

This long-time dvc member is venturing to the Swan for our first non-dvc stay since 1994. We rented our OKW points(first time for that also, went very smoothly) and decided after last NYE that being in Epcot area would be very convenient. Got a great teachers rate for Club level. Can't wait.
Connears. We will be there 12/28-1/02/04 :D

We will be staying Nov 30-Dec 6 at Poly Concierge garden view. We've never stayed at the Poly before, but I've always wanted to. :mickeyXmas:
Since this is our 25th Anniversary trip we decided to splurge (a good rate didn't hurt either).
I'm looking forward to meeting many of you!

(Miss Bianca, I think our times at the Poly overlap!)

WL here, Kathi. Our first time.

Also our first time for the holidays. We usually rent pool homes when we go to WDW, but we'll only have one of our boys with us this trip so we can fit in a hotel room.

Hi Kathi, we're staying at the WL from Dec.8-16th. I've never stayed there before, but hear it's beautiful; especially at Christmas. I would love to one day stay at the Poly with a view of the castle. Maybe in a couple years, we'll see.....

We'll be staying at Allstar Music. This has been a long process. I invited my inlaws to go and we were going to stay at FW cabins. Then, I decided I couldn't stand the thoughts of 6 people and only one bathroom. So, then we changed to Allstar Movies, and got 2 rooms. Much better! Two bathrooms, and I can close myself off from the inlaws if needed. Then, the AP rates came out. I couldn't get Movies, so I switched to Music.

Even though Music is my least favorite of the Allstars, I'm glad I chose it, because it looks like there will be a lot of us Taginators there! I'm thinking we can have cocktails in the Jazz courtyard, looking at that great fountain and getting to know each other!

We will be at the Wilderness Lodge - yeah! We picked it while on our Valentine's trip this year. It just seems so beautiful for a Christmas stay. We would never be able to afford it, but we got it for the come-back rate in Feb.

Can't wait!!!!!!

I was just thinking the All Stars Music will be Party Central with all the Taginators staying there

We will be there most of this trip - then moving to AKL for the last few nights!

We are lucky enough to get to stay at the AKL. This will be our first trip. I can't believe it is almost here after having planned for it for over a year and a half. My biggest fear is that I will get there and forget everything that I have read and just stand there not knowing what to do. :?

Will be at the Poly for this trip. Have stayed at 10 other WDW resorts and just realized this is my first stay at a monorail resort! Will be attending MVMCP twice during my stay and the Poly is so convenient. Looking forwar to meeting you all (and re-meeting for some)!

We'll be coming in Dec 6th (DH) and Dec. 8th (me) - it's a convention/business trip. We are already booked at the Radisson Resort Parkway in Kissimmee. Deluxe king room w/pool view. Didn't get the Mousesavers rate, but pretty close on a corporate booking. The special rates would 'try', but not 'guarantee' a king room. I need that guarantee!

Tonya,

You will be just fine! Have two or three things in mind as your MUSTs for each day and the rest will flow quite naturally from there. There is nothing like the excitement of discovery during a first trip -- you're going to have a wonderful vacation. I bet you'll really enjoy the AKL, too. :D

Sandar is right, just have 2 or 3 main things planned and the rest will flow as the magic takes over. One big thing to remember is............. YOU WILL NOT get it all in, that is what the next 100 trips is for , so don't rush, relax and enjoy :tink:

we're staying at the Polynesian 12/08-12/28 thanks to being POFQ refugees so are getting to stay there at a very reasonable rate (well reasonable for the Poly that it!!!!!... it still gives me heart failure when I see the amount outstanding!!) Hey, what the heck, it's a one off after this it's back to All Star Movies for us!!!

Hi Val,

That's awesome, 19 or 20 nights at the Polynesian? I've never even seen it (except in pictures) and will probably never be able to afford to stay there unless I hit the lottery.

Welcome to Tagrel.com! We all love Disney and welcome new Disneyholics!

I'll be staying in All Star Music from December 3-14, 2003.

Jim

I think I'll hang out till my arms get sore.

I just realized that I didn't answer my own question!!

We are staying at the WL from December 3rd - 7th. My mom and dad will be with us for part of the trip. My mom fell in love with WL last December so there was no talking her into a different resort! We have stayed at WL before, and really liked it, but were hoping for an Epcot resort this trip for convenience. Currently our favorite resort is AKL.

My dream is to stay at Poly Concierge and have a view of the castle from my bed. I want to lie in bed in the middle of the night and watch the castle change all the beautiful colors....someday (after we accumulate a bit more wealth!).

Linda -- This is an old, old thread, from 2003 planning days.

MandM -- you might want to hunt up a more recent thread in the Mousefest planning forum to find out who's going to be at WDW in December, where they're staying, and their dates.
