Thursday I'd like to have a Stop Drop and Roll meet (sometime before 3) I'd say rope drop but am not sure everyone will be up so. . . What time???? I get to sit behind GHJohn or somone that puts their hands up though! LOL

That's simply a tradition we can't drop, Bookwood.

DH is pretty tall. Not as tall as GHJ, but close. I'm sure he could safely obliterate your face for the photo, Pam. I'm sure we could make it to a Stop, Drop and Roll meet. DS may be a bit difficult to convince to go on ToT, but we'll be there.

Well should we have a SNORING meet at CoP for ummmm SHERYL :D

Bookwood
12-18-2005, 05:13 AM
That sounds like lots of fun to BR. I hope CoP will be going! We tried to see it again this summer and got about half way around and had to exit, "oh it's a great big beautiful tomorrow . . ."

I'd love to do Soarin' or Space Mountain. SM, especially, as I usually have to do that one alone.

So nothing specific decided yet, besides the meals. I'm leaving tomorrow night, so I'll try to check again before I go, but otherwise, I'll see you all at 'Ohana.

If I get up early enough, maybe I'll do a French Toast Loaf at the Bakery on the 6th, and check on you guys before you eat at CP.

What MGM/Food court meet? I never even heard rumbling about that. Saw a lot of talk about meeting in WS, but don't see anything about that either. The only food thing I signed up for was 'Ohana, but if there was a casual fast food meet, I would go. I just don't want to commit to any more full meals.

Food Court meet at MGM Thursday evening after we have picked up our race packets! Time is still kinda "up in the air" (we're thinking sometime between 5 and 6 ish) if you PM me your cell I can call you either when we leave WWOS or when we arrive at MGM depending on how much time you need to get there to meet us!

I'll just add that DH and I will be at Kimonos at 9pm on Saturday night if anyone's feeling up to joining us.

Ok, I give up. Where is there a food court at MGM?

Bill,

Perhaps they're referring to the ABC Commisary.

AliciaG
12-23-2005, 07:40 PM
That's right. Since Prime Time was going to be closed, we decided on gathering someplace like the ABC Commisary or the Backlot Express. That way we can go at a time that works for everyone, and anybody can feel free to show up since we won't need a PS. I think the kids will enjoy it more too, since they can congregate and be a little more rowdy. :)

I think we're for sure planning to Drop & Roll that night, and maybe see the Osborne Lights too.

ETA: Oh, and Pam may have been thinking about the Sunset Ranch Market as an option too. That's kind of like a mini food court as you can get food from several locations and sit anywhere. The place might depend on the temperature.

Rosebud
12-23-2005, 09:38 PM
Now I'm more confused about the MGM food court. Really the only food court is the Sunset Ranch Market, since the other places are just fast food places. But I guess if it is cold, sounds as if you plan to go indoors. Well there will be a crowd so if I go, I'll find you in one of those places I guess.

Rosebud, do you plan on being in Epcot on New Years Eve? If so, maybe we'll see you there. Have a safe trip!
Most likely place for us on NYE is EPCOT. I believe Val said she got the day off, so we can plan on it. I'll keep an eye out for you, but EPCOT is the craziest crowded place on NYE, because they have the most special stuff going on. Unless of course it rains like it did 3 years ago and then it gets pretty dead.

Is anyone else going to the Expo on Friday?

Bookwood

Ddoll I am planning on going Friday too! because John Bingham and Jenny Hadfield are speaking 2-2:30 ish if I rmemeber correctly. I'd be happy to go a little early and help you get done at the Expo what you want to do! (I just really want to hear Bingham speak!) I'd even meet you at the Expo before or CP brunch if we have time!

FLSharon

Unless traffic is an issue, I'd really like to hear Bingham also ..so we'd be there too. and GHJ always knows where the not to be missed freebies are... I'm wondering how early we need to be there.. That room was small at CMM and i really liked that front row.

Why thank you Pam. I'll need to pick up my packet. I was hoping not to have to drag DH and DS over there.

Should I just have someone pick it up for me on Thursday, or is it something I really need to do myself?

Deb, I think you have to do it yourself... they required a DL as I remember.. If someone remembers differently, we could def pick it up for you. Its probably in our booklet, but who reads directions..

The last email contained detailed instructions on how to have someone else pick up your packet. Maybe that's new this year.

I just wasn't sure if the Expo was something I really needed to see and experience, or if it was okay to pass it by. Our park time is so limited this trip, and I would be missing the trip over there with the rest of you guys. How much fun would I have going alone?

I just remembered, I 'll have a car until 4 pm on Friday, so I can take 4 from the Polynesian to WWoS in time for the Bingham talk - no Question, Sharon - that front row was PRIME! Does that mean we'll need to go over there shortly after Brunch?

Sheryl

We're planning on spending the entire day at MGM on Thursday except to run over to WWOS. I had originally planned on leaving MIL and boys at MGM, but now they (all three) are expressing an interest of going to WWOS also. I'm wondering if there will be abus available to go from MGM to WWOS and back? Anyone know?

Our plans for Friday are to spend the day at MK, but to also go to WWOS to see Bingham speak, well Terry and I plan to go, but will leave MIL and boys at MK.

Ddoll, if you were planning on going to WWOS on Friday to register, why don't you go to get singed up a little before Bingham speaks and we can meet up before he speaks to catch it all together?

I was rather impressed with WWOS last year, and am really looking forward to going there again. For me, it is all part of the experience, and you might really enjoy it. Don't know what your DD and son have planned, but maybe they can meet up with our crew at MK, if they don't want to go to WWOS. My boys always love to meet new friends at Disney and would love to have another guy around. They loved spending time with Alicia's son Eric last year, and are excited to see him again.

I would love to arrange to meet up with up with anyone who's planning on going to WWOS on Friday. Thank you!

We will be at the brunch at CP, so maybe a trip over before or after would work. My DH and DS are very used to meeting up with my Disney friends too, Sheryl. Thank you for the offer. I know DS would be happy to find some other boys.

I just thought everyone would be all done with it by Friday, so I'm relieved to hear some of you will be going back.

How much time do you think we need to spend there? Can't say going to listen to a speaker thrills me though.

Ursulinda
12-26-2005, 04:53 PM
Deb, you haven't HEARD John Bingham!

At Nashville, I was like - let's sit in the back row so I can sneak out - what do I want to listen to this guy for? But Nooooooo! Front row all the way, and I'm SO GLAD!

He's a terrific speaker - Good enough that I will leave the Magic Kingdom and make my way through the mayhem that will be WWoS on Friday afternoon to hear him again.

OK, I can probably do the Thursday events and Crystal Palace on Friday. For Crystal Palace, do we have a PS? Is it too late to join in?

My flight arrives at about lunch on Thursday. I will have a small rental car so I can probably drive two people over if that is easier than the bus. . .

Let me know what the final plans are. I'd love to join in.

Can't wait to see you, Amy!

ddoll, I wouldn't miss the Expo. To me it's just a really neat part of the whole experience. Just going in the entrance where is says "runners only" was a thrill to me. Bingham is worth hearing! He's got a risque sense of humor (which I love!) and is the one who coined the phrase "medal ho". I think Sheryl's got a great idea to head over from the MK a bit early to pick up your packet and then see him if you want.

I hope the weather warms up a bit for swimming. I think Chase (?), Nicholas, and Eric are all the same age. My Kristen, and LGC and BR's DD's are all the same age too.

We're leaving Saturday! Can't wait! :yahoo:

Sheryl

Chase is 11, just tall for his age. And as much as he likes to have other boys to play with, he's crazy about girls! (Too much time spent with his teenage brothers)
But as for swimming, we're staying at the Swan, while the rest of you are at the Poly.

Okay, you guys have talked me into giving the Expo a chance. I may even be convinced to stay and hear some of the Penguin's talk. :D

I think we need a Friday afternoon Polynesian Pool Bar Meet, directly after the penguin pitch. The kids can swim and who'll be counting . . .

Bookwood

Sounds good to me. . . Bethany is a very mature 17 so she can count the "kids " so we don't have to LOL, and I'm betting my girls would love to swim at the Poly. (we'll come over from the Swolphin to join if we're doing it! ) Friday night EMH is at EPcot so we can even bus home!

I wasn't planning on EMH at Epcot- but it always pays to know where the late nights are for Disney Transportation- also the girls (who won't be running- just working- and are ever so much more inclined to sleep in than I am) could go!!

Thanks for the ride offer Ddoll- I may take you up on it!

Ursulinda

Pam, are there explicit paying directions for this meet as well? I like the pre-prepared envelope idea mentioned on the Ohana thread.

Bookwood
12-28-2005, 08:13 AM
I posted prices (with and without DDE) in the Ohanas thread. Here they are again!

Crystal Palace Breakfast
For adults: $17.99 + 6.5% tax $19.16. = 20% without DDE $22.99
For kids $9.99 +6.5% $10.64 = 20 % without DDE $12.76

right now it looks like Alicia, Sheryl, Luvmedisney, and Ddoll have DDE which should wqual 40 people if we can use it for CP breakfast!

AliciaG
12-28-2005, 10:39 AM
T.Mom, you deserve pampering. :hugging:

I love the idea of a Friday afternoon pool meet. We're in!

Now, for the most important meet of all... Meet at the "T" tent after the race. We did this last year. There are what they call family reunion tents after the finish line. We all decided to meet at the "T" (for Tagrel) tent and find each other after the race. It was great to hear how it had gone for others and get some photos and share some hugs. Let's plan on it, runners and cheerleaders both. :)

Sheryl

I think Friday, Ter and the boys (MIL too) will head back to the Poly pool while, I head over to the Expo to hear Bingham talk. That will give them plenty of time to swim with all of the friends, and I won't get any trouble when it is time to go to dinner at 5:30. Anyone who needs to use our room is welcome.

Another thought I had, was since there will be so many of us there, is if anyone wants to meet nightly for a nighttime cocktail whether it be a frufru or soft drink. You don't ahve to be staying there to join in, just who ever shows up, shows up.

We can get drinks and watch fireworks on the beach or just hang out. I'm not much of an early to bed person when at Disney, and love to wander around the resorts, right Margaret.

Speaking of Margaret, maybe we'll need to give ehr a call at night, so she can be a part of it. I bought a scratch off today Margaret, and if I had won the $5555 you would be going! Except I only won $5  not enough.

What sounds like a good cocktail time?

I might be up for an "late night???" cocktail (or soft drink) Thursday or sunday but the early hours Saturday and Sunday are gonna be killers to the late nights the day before!
