Basketball at Disney

My son was reading the 2004 Birnbaum's book tonight & saw that it said there were Basketball Hoops at Fort Wilderness, Contemporary & Old Key West. Anyone know where these may be & if so have you ever seen anyone shooting hoops?

I don't remember seeing any basketball hoops, but I do remember seeing a volleyball court at Fort Wilderness. My husband commented on how fun it would be to have a family reunion and a friendly game of volleyball.

I've never seen basketball hoops at either of those places. That doesn't mean for sure they aren't there, but I'm sure if I saw them I would remember since I grew up in a state where girls can play basketball. So I'm a grammy that can do a lay-up shot, something many other girls weren't even allowed to try until almost two generations later!

I've seen them at FtW. I probably only noticed them because someone was using them. As to exactly where they were I don't remember, but I know I saw them.

I just looked up the map on Jeff Spence's site and they show quite a few. They also list renting sports equipment from the Bike Barn and there is a court not too far from there. If you call Ft Wilderness, I'm sure they could tell you all about it.

It shows the location of several courts at Ft. Wilderness. And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe basketballs, tennis raquets etc. are FREE RENTALS for the asking at the bike barn.
