I just uploaded a few of my scrapbook pages from a trip with DH and DGDthen6 in May 2001.

Animal Kingdom - I took patterned paper that would have been a little too busy and cut out various leaves and flowers for accents. Note the two pics of Nicole on benches. I took a lot of bench photos that trip.

AKLodge - right after it opened. What a great place. I had a 50% off CM rate on a savanah view room. I adapted the pattern from the sign that DH and DGD and looking at for the border on the left.

Donald's Breakfastosaurus

We were the first at the gate and they took us in before everyone else. We had the characters all to ourselves for about 20 minutes as the gate ticket machines were down. Pluto was too funny! I love the pic of him kissing my DH. Grumpy Grampa is laughing!

I love taking pictures of Nicole on benches so did two pages just for the ones in Epcot. There's about 10 bench photos in the album.

MGM Start Wars weekends have lots of great photo ops. The Jawa came up behind Nicole and took her hat and put it on his head. I took the autographes, color copied and reduced them and put them on the tag.

I just love these photos. I only saw these ladies once in Italy. They were so beautiful. I miss the Venetian characters!

Thanks ladies! I would love to see more of everyone's pages. Scraplifting is always fun!

Linda - I saw a couple of yours you had posted a while back and noted our style differences. I just love that there are no rules and how different styles can bring out different features and emotions.

Hmmmm - I wonder if a scrapbook meet at MouseFest would work? Or a scrapbook Holiday swap? Maybe a card exchange? Oh, I have so many ideas!

I know you posted these a while ago kathleena (I haven't been around much lately), but I LOVE your pages. They are absolutely beautiful! If you don't mind me asking, on the AKL page (where you recreated the red, yellow, blue pattern down the left side), did you create those shapes by tearing? I have always wanted to try that method, but I'm afraid I will ruin the paper.

Very nice indeed!!!

Hi JennyAnne!

Yes, I did tear the paper. I love to tear paper for layouts and sometimes do it freeform and take what I get. But if I am looking for a specific shape, I lightly pencil the shape - backwards - on the back side of the paper. Then I tear along the lines. You just have to tear it the right way so you get the right effect on the other side.

For example, hold with your left hand and tear down with your right hard, and the top layer is peeled back, so it leaves a lighter color torn edge. If you are working on the back side of the paper, you just have to remember to do it the opposite way. Even though I have torn lots of paper, I still use a piece of scarp now and then to test out a tear and see the effect.

Another trick is to sew the shape or tear line with your sewing machine without thread and tear along the perfs.

So take some paper you don't need and get some practice tearing in!

Nancy

Along the same lines, you can take a qtip or small brush and wet the line you want to tear and then tear it.

I wish I had more time to scrap -but darn work gets in the way

I still think we can get a scrap meet or a scrap swap going at MF!

I won't be at mousefest 2006, because I didn't plan very well, unfortunately. We're there Thanksgiving week, and then cruising a week and then it's aother week until Mousefest because the cruise part of that comes first. But, if anyone's going to marathon 2007 . . .

I'm considering the Marathon. I should be able to decide within a couple of weeks!
