I would have loved to have been at this meet, but with 2 kids along on this trip didn't think it was a good idea for them to come along with us.
It looks like everyone had a great time!!!

I am SO sorry I missed this meet! I had all intentions of being there, but ... well. the ole grey mare, ain't what she used to be (at least energy wise).

Everyone told me it was hilarious!

Hopefully next time!

I was afraid of this -- photos from the Kimonos Meet! Yikes! Thankfully, it's only my back(side) -- and there's no VIDEO! :embarassed:

You all had some *wonderful* singers in your midst -- I was very impressed!

Thank you for allowing me to share in your fun at Kimonos, and at other events during MouseFest!

It was terrific getting to meet the Tagrel folks that I had a chance to, and I hope that you all don't mind if I occasionally stop by here to get to know you all a little bit better.

And please, anyone who saw me at Kimonos, don't think I'm always like that -- I really am pretty shy. You all must have brought out the latent extrovert in me. I know... It was all MikeS's fault!

I usually run in the opposite direction when someone says "karaoke" but I wouldn't have missed Saturday night for the world! You guys can SING! And to find out that a friend I've known for such a long time had such talent :-)

It was great to meet so many of you!

dcdeb, you made my trip! :lmbo: You got skills, girl! You guys were great. All of you have enhanced our enjoyment of WDW over the past few years. Thank you for that. I look forward to seeing you around the boards. :)

Well... let's just say that I was inspired by something I saw at my niece's wedding not too long ago... Not that I've been rehearsing and waiting for the right moment or anything... :coolDance:

But if there IS any video of the evening's events, it just better NEVER see the light of day, or I won't be able to show my face or my BACK, here, or anywhere, again! LOL!

That's for sure! She sang... I can't remember -- was it a Melissa Etheridge song? -- it was just fabulous.

And amymouse, singing that song from the Little Mermaid, nearly had me in tears!

Welcome dcdeb, maybe next year we can get some dancing lessons from you, you've got the moves!

ddoll thanks for a wonderful meet. This was one of the highlights of the trip for me. You are an awesome singer & so were so many others. You, Geri, Amy, Timon, Mike & Moley were just great. I think there were others from our site but I believe these were the only I had the priviledge of hearing. Deb Martin Koma was awesome!

OK, I've just learned that my so-called "friend" (whose son was my lovely co-star) DID take some video of the, um, event... Even though she's currently on the Mousefest cruise, she's been sending me blackmail emails!

My only hope is that she loses her camera on some shore excursion!

I don't know how I let myself get talked into this -- our original plan was to sing "I Just Can't Wait to be King." How did we go from that to what we ended up with??? LOL!

By the way, another friend of mine who was there took pix of the Taginators singing -- when I get them, would you like to see them here? Or how shall I post them?

Sure Deb, we'd LOVE to see more pictures. You can either host the photos somewhere else, or go to the photo gallery and there's a forum in there to host photos you want to link into your post.

And I can't tell you how much we all enjoyed your show. It was a blast. I'd love to see it again.

BTW apparently Paracetamol = Acetaminophen in the US!!

Did you bring any meds home with you? Too bad.

I thought the "acetam" part meant acetaminophen, that's Tylenol here. But I thought it was just one ingredient in a cold preparation. No wonder it didn't help your colds! :(

Thank goodness for Alicia being able to get up first at 5:25 on Sunday morning, if it were up to me we would not have made it. I'm so glad I did get there, as it was a great meet and a nice send off to go home. This whole weekend was worth not getting much sleep!

I did not make it to Kimonos, but I did ride in a van with a lot of bright-eyed, laughter-filled ladies who were at Kimonos the night before. It sounds like they had a lot of fun. They must've been running on adrenaline, because I sure wouldn't have made it to breakfast on that little sleep.

Hehehe...as I said to Deb, my little digital camera makes a great little .avi file. It'll be up on eBay later this week. ;-)

That young handsome man doing the vocals was my son, btw. (Just thought I'd throw that in.) It was supposed to be a "duet" but how can anyone catch their breath to sing when they're shaking their butt so vigorously? :)

He missed dcdeb in Diversions on the cruise. He had to entice a few random women onto the stage for a repeat performance, but they couldn't hold a candle to Deb!

I sure was impressed with the "real" singers who got up at Kimonos. There's a lot of talent in this group!

Hi,

This meet was one of the highlights of my trip! We have some truly talented singers! Ddoll was great as usual as both hostess and songstress. Amymouse--you're kidding, right? You're a PHENOMENAL singer! Dole Whip at Aloha Isle--$2.89. Seven Dwarfs tie-dye tshirt at Mouse Gear, Epcot Future World--$24.00. Seeing Deb Koma shake her shapely booty at Kimono's on December 3--priceless! As for me, I got over any stagefright by imagining that it was church and I was singing in choir.

I can't wait to do it again next year!

*sigh* Maybe someday they will expand their repetoir to include country music... *I* couldn't believe they didn't even have Garth Brooks! :yikes: I am not even a fan, but you'd think if they were gonna toss in some generic country for us red-necks, he and Shania Twain (not a fan of hers either, lol) would be in there  Personally, I prefer Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban :wuv: But I digress...

Anywho, if I want to get some songs I remotely know in there, it looks like I have some writing to do, lol...

Let's start a letter campaign, Belle. They don't have any good songs there, IMO.

I asked the MC if she had "You'll Be In My Heart" somewhere in the back.

It seemed there were some obvious Disney songs not listed in that book.

Here's the snail mail address:

Kimonos Restaurant Manager
WDW Swan Hotel
1200 Epcot Resorts Blvd
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Or you can address an email to the Kimonos Restaurant Manager at swandolphin.com

We can tell him we went in a large group and found the karaoke song choices to be too limited.

You all get "Friends in Low Places" and I believe there will be a group Karaoke sing along for sure!

Amen to that, Betsy!

Thanks for suggesting the campaign and giving us the address and info too, Ddoll! :grouphug: You guys are the bestest! I am going to get a letter written tonight and shoot it off tomorrow - before the postage goes up  Hey, maybe if we put the date of our return appearance, maybe they'll surprise us with a few new discs! Ok, I won't hold my breath, but it couldn't hurt to let them know we'll be back... again! lol.

Personally, I think all song selection problems would be solved if they allowed us to bring our own CD's. DH can make any CDG that anyone requested.
