The Hundred Grand episode of Trading Spaces just wrapped on the East Coast showing. I won't spoil it for those who have still to see it. However, it was a fun episode and I loved most of what was done for the homeowners. Wish they would do a special like this more often.
Really am interested in the rest of your reactions to this one. :)

This was great fun! The designs where interesting, and I thought they did a nice job in both houses!
What seemed to be missing was the "labor of love" that seems to happen when the friends are doing most of the work or at least seem busy most of the time.
I would love to see a few more of the big bucks designs so we can see what the other designers could do!

I also caught this last night. I found it quite enjoyable! It was nice to see what the designers came up with on this large budget. I thought both rooms came out very nice. I only wish someone would come in and redo my kitchen! I was wondering how the couple liked having their tile covered despite their wishes it was not touched. Funny--they showed the homeowners discussing it in the beginning and nothing was really said the rest of the show. Though I did like the Pergo floor. I also enjoyed the fact the homeowners had $1,000 of the budget to go with Paige and spend it on their choice of items! I don't think, however, the one couple was as thrilled with their home video library--maybe it was just me. It was touching to see the homeowners show the emotions they did throughout the episode. I only wish they had really showed the reveal in detail especially the kitchen/dining/family room combo. I was really hard to catch everything that was done and take it all in.
Just a reminder, it is being reaired on Friday evening I believe at 8:00?

Will, I know I saw a commercial yesterday and they said they were rerunning it this Friday night. I think it was either 7 or 8:00. I know yesterday it aired at 8:00 and again at 11:00. Hope you get to see it. You will definitely enjoy it.

I thought that it was great. It definitely was nice to see what the designers and the carpenters could do with a real budget!
I loved to see Paige tease Laurie about her paint colot! When DH and I saw that she was going to be one of the designers, one of the first things I said was that she'd just use the money to buy more yellow paint!
Disneyfanatic: I didn't think that the homeowners were so wild about their DVD collection either. But then I wouldn't be so enthused about it either- not even my DH could really pick out the movies I'd want to see, really. Plus, they'd gotten them all those nice high-end applicances- stuff they wouldn't get for themselves, and in return got a bunch of DVD's that they very well could have (and would have) gotten for themselves.
I liked the Pergo floor better than the tile that was there before! Somehow I think that knowing that they were getting high-quality flooring instead of cheap carpet, painted cement, or peal and stick linoleum helped them change their mind about their precious tile!
Will: They're re-airing it Saturday night at 7

I liked both of the room which made my daughters think the world was ending- I never like Dougs stuff- it's all too Doug and not the homeowners tastes. Come on now $125 a yard for curtian material :( and ugly curtian material at that. I expected more of Laurie. Doug sounded like a comercial most of the time I saw it.(we were flipping between the World cup/ the Cubs game and Trading spaces)
I thought they wasted alot of money just for the sake of "expensive stuff"

That is exactly what i thought about those curtains - that was not worth $125/yd @ all!!!
& the room seemed cluttered w/ all that furniture - very nice furniture but cluttered!
Doug did a fabulous job on the kitchen - & i LOVED how that table turned out w/ the ebony stain - it was a black & white table just like the homeowner said it would be & it was great!

I too think the curtains were terrible.

There was a remark made about the tile floor near the end - it was doug, right? said he hadn't touched it, he'd covered it with the pergo, so if they didn't like it, they could pull up the pergo - which is true, because it's a floating floor covering.
