My son thinks we have to have dessert at almost every meal while at Disney so we can many times share a meal since he knows dessert is coming. Do you have suggestions for Fast Food places that have large enough meals to share?

I dont have your answer exactly but I can tell you I always share with my husband and so far I havent found anything too small to share. I suspect once you share the meal no mater what portion size then get dessert (which I find is always huge too) youll feel full. And if not you always have an excuse to eat again in a couple hours right? :-) If your going fast food you can always go back and order another meal if you feel the need for more. Or just order one adult meal and one childs meal from the start.
This is such a great idea to save money and not throw away so many left overs. I cant tell you how many times we wasted so much food before we began sharing.

We always share at Beaches and Cream...a double cheeseburger with onion rings and dessert being a No Way Jose...more than enough for 2 adults :eat: :eat:

My DH and I always share a combination meal in China at the Lotus Blossom Cafe. The food is tasty and very inexpensive.

My Dad and I like to split the salad at the Plaza Pavillion (lettuce, chicken, roasted potatoes, green beans) and get an order of breadsticks too(there are 2). Plenty for us, and leaves room for a Mickey bar in a few hours.

I'm with Pixie on the meals at Lotus Blossom. We purchased two meals for the four of us. My boys are young enough that it is still easy for us to split meals, and then at times they can eat more than Dh and I. I would prefer to share a meal and then order more or get dessert, rather than order to much food and not eat it. We've also shared meals at the Mxican fast food at Epcot (sorry, I can't think of the name). And also at ESPN, so that we could get dessert on the Boardwalk.

You know, this splitting meals sounds like an excellent plan, you guys! I'm definitely going to incorporate it in our plans this year. I always feel guilty when there's too much food left over. Needless to say....we NEVER get dessert! There's never room for it.
Splitting will now be "Plan B" for us.
I'll get back to you.............

We almost always split meals because that means we either get dessert or to try more places. We don't eat a lot of fast food, but at fast food we'll do a few small things or one bigger meal. For instance we might get an egg roll and then later split a chicken caeser salad or fish & chips or one bigger meal like the combo platter at Mexico (outdoors).
However, Margaret your son is getting older and from what I hear about teenage boys, you can't feed them enough! So before you know it he may be eating his and half of yours and still expect a couple of desserts!

Rosebud you are right I can not seem to feed him enough but the desserts at Disney really help to fill that hole. When we have shared meals I have gotten something small extra like a side salad. This usually helps. Of course he does like to snack inbetween. Last couple of trips he got hooked on Breadsticks they serve at the Resorts.

My husband has a large appetite, yet will still share most of our meals. Here are a couple of our favorites:
Pecos Bills: Double bacon cheeseburger with fries
Tangeine Cafe: Most of their combo platters (especially chix & lamb)
Cafe in Mexico: Combination platter with burritos and enchiladas
Flame Tree BBQ: Half BBW chicken plate with beans and corn
Breakfast Pizza at any resort cafe (big and yummy!)
OK, I'm hungry - gotta go! ;)

For some reason when I saw Suzy's post it reminded me of something someone posted once - I thought it was suzy. Anyhow, it was something about buying a double cheeseburger and ordering and extra roll. I think they did this at Cosmic Rays, but I would guess any place serving double cheeseburgers would do it. I'm not a burger fan so I don't really know where you could do this.
Also, at Cosmic Rays I think they have some family chicken meals.

I think I remember that post now Rosebud about ordering an extra bun. Maybe I need to post and ask how many people have done this.

Yes, I confess it was me. THey charge about $.70 for an extra bun and we have done it on a couple of occassions. I have also heard of others doing it as well. It is especially good when you are travelling with tots. Though, I'm sure that you could order this if you are ordering some sort of sandwhich.
