What is your earliest memory of Disneyland?
What is your fondest memory of Disneyland?

My earliest memory was when I was in early grade school I beleve. I remmebr we had to buy an admission ticket to get in then books with coupons to use titles A, B C D and of course the famous E rides.
My best memory is of two attractions. One is still there today. The storybook canal boat ride. They show you all sorts of disney places/homes from all the cartoons and characters. I love miniatures anyway so this is a very favorite for me.
The next best memory from my early child hood was the one where they made you beleive you was being shrunken as you went through a machine. I truely beleved when I was young they really shrunk me. I was very surprised when I went again as a teenager that I figured it out that I wasnt really being shrunk.
One last thing I remmebr from childhood memories there was the America Sings attraction. It wasnt there when I was small (at least I dont think so) but when I was a teenager it was there. I dont remember a lot about it except it had really up beat music.
I know progress is good and Im glad they have made so many changes but sometimes I miss the old.
How about others. Anyone else have an early memory for us?

Although I have never been to Disneyland (I WILL get there someday!!), my earliest memories are in black and white, watching newsreels of it on TV and wanting to go soooo bad. One neighborhood family was fortunate enough to go, and I can remember my friends wearing their Mickey Mouse ears while we would watch the Mickey Mouse Club and I was so envious!
Oh my, does this one take me back in time. Having been raised in Southern California, we started going to Disneyland in the early 60's.
My first memories of DL are:
Getting a free copy of the Declaration of Independance from the Main Street General Store every time we went.
Going through the MONSANTO house and thinking how cool everything looked in the future.
Having Small World open.
Getting a free sample of vitimins from the Upjohn store on Main Street (yes, they gave away Drugs!!!! :mickeyHalloween: )
Walking through the 20,000 Leagues exhibit
Being shrunk down small enough to go inside an atom in tomorrowland (it was real!)
FINALLY being old enough to go off on my own at the park, and meeing my parents on the bench at the circle in front of the castle.
Riding the Matterhorn and thinking it would be neat to be able to climb up the stairs that went up inside to the top.
Riding the Story Book Canal boats and then having tuna sandwiches at Capt'n Hooks (Hosted by Chicken of the Sea) for lunch.
Those are a few of the early memories, there are lots more but it would take forever to list them all here.
Thanks again for a great question Barb.

Its so funny how we really thought we was being shrunk when we was children. Its too bad that ride went away.
