Just saw a followup post on radp, citing an Orlando Sentinel article about the possibility of Cypress Gardens (or part of it) becoming a state park. I hope something comes of this possibility, as it would be a shame to see the whole thing get turned into condos and QwikEMarts.

Anyway, here's the link in case you'd like to read more:

Florida has some of the loveliest state parks I've seen. They maintain them very well. This would be a good way to preserve an important part of Florida touring history. Hope it works out! :)

I read that on CNN this morning, but didn't get a chance to report it yet. Hope it works out, it would be ashame to ruin the property.

I've read most of the articles on CG.. It seems that it'll probably stay open, but not sure in what manner. IT's quite doubtful if it remains as is.. with all the attractions.. even tho i wish it could. In all probably the original gardens is what will stay. However Keep hoping. maybe they'll rescue the entire attraction. Sat was a real treat to be there, but so many sad faces. So keep hoping..!!! Sharon
