I know that we did not get anything special (does a cookie and a glass of lemonade count?)

They are VERY low pressure, and I think I have heard that on occasion people have gotten a lunch at a Boardwalk restaurant out of the deal. But that was a long time ago.

Never hurts to ask them! :)

Do you at least get to tour the properties? I don't that I could buy into something just based on a slide show. Also, do they run a credit check or something before you can listen to their spill? I went one place that did that and it made me mad.

I only want my credit checked if I'm actually buying into something.

Hi Cheri: We just came back from WDW and they are now advertising on all the Disney hotel channels that they give you a free meal. They've always done that unofficially, but now it's official. They paid for our family of 4 to eat ..... I can't remember where. I know that we didn't have much time and we took a lunch quickie place. I know that also they used to give free fast passes. That was definitely worth it when we went on the tour.

As others have said, it is very low key. The salespeople know that the project sells itself. The main tour location still at BWV is built adjacent to a model of the one bdr and the studio (I believe)

No one did a credit check before hand. I would have walked right then and there. That's no one's business. In fact, they didn't have any details on us as we did our own financing.

They also provide free childcare for your children while you take the "tour." Sometimes, that is worth more to me then a free meal

They are very low pressure, and certainly do NOT do a credit check beforehand. I actually did finance with Disney. I put 50% down and financed it over only a year, and they did NO income verification or credit check. I'm very particular to whom I want to share that info with.

Now, all I have to pay is the maintenance fee and it is just done as an automatic bank draft each month. Totally pain free.

They have a model open at the Beach Club Villas that you can tour. :D

We joined ages ago, but we recently added on a VWL membership. Since we declined Disney financing, they didn't run any kind of credit check.

Hi Cheri,

We toured on April 16, 2003 and we got these awesome fast pass vouchers. Each of us rec'd a DVC credit card type card that was good for 48 hours and could be used for 2 "instant" fast passes anywhere in WDW.
This was as long as the fast passes were still being issued for that particular ride. This was a total surprise and not advertised.
We spent a good 2 hours with our rep and had a tour, computer time,
a lovely walk through presentation with pictures, miniature scale models,
and just a very fun time. Our rep was knowledgable and courteous.
There was no pressure to sell. He kept anwering all the questions we had.
He gave us all the information we needed and even sent copies to our attorney for review. No free meal, but the fast passes were really worth it. We used ours for The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh and Peter Pan, when the wait was 6o min. and the fast passes were not available until after 5 pm. We were there at noon. We were thrilled because those were the only 2 rides I really wanted to and we were going home on at 4.
Sorry it was such long reply. I just love those fast passes!

Thanks for the information everybody. Hopefully, we'll be doing the tour soon. We're still in the getting our ducks in a row phase. :D

LGC...
Don't forget to use one of your DVC member friends as a referral when you sign up for the tour. If you do decide to take the plunge, they will receive a thank you from DVC (provided their state allows it).

Cheri, we just took the tour last week, and we were given a great perk for touring the DVC. We got 5 quick and casual vouchers good for lunch or dinner at LOTS of places! These are like the Connections vouchers. They are good for a combo meal, side item, drink, and dessert!!! It was us and the 3 kids, so they gave us 5. We decided that they'd be best used for my trip in December since they are good until May 2004. :D

We had a great time touring the DVC. The kids had a blast and wanted to know when they could go back, and John and I enjoyed talking with our guide and getting more questions answered. I think you should take the time to check it out.
