:mickey: Hi and WELCOME! :mickey:

I created this site for Disney fans to talk Disney, and for friends to enjoy each other's company.

Who can Play here?

Everyone that can follow our simple site rules! All past baggage is left at the door. We all start out with a clean slate. How you fill your slate is up to you.

All forums require registration before posting. If you are having registration problems please contact tagrel@tagrel.com for assistance.

Please do your best to make new posts in the appropriate forum (but we'll help you out if you make a mistake!) :)

What can I post?

Anything Disney related, and we even have forums for other happenings in your life! Personal opinions on hotels, restaurants, etc. are all gratefully accepted (both positive and negative). We need ALL the opinions to intelligently form our own. Even discussing Disney's faults/concerns/problems is completely acceptable. How can Disney improve if we can't discuss their downfalls?

What shouldn't I post?

Spam or pornographic text and/or images (grounds for immediate removal from the boards), adult oriented content over a PG-13 rating. Also - graphic depictions of violence are not appropriate in picture or written form.

This is a family site with members 13 years of age and older. As such, we strive to keep things 'Family friendly' but flexible. Keep the R-Rated material out of your posts and all should be OK.

Also, this is a sponsored site. Members are asked to refrain from posting personal business links in their posts, profiles and signatures without prior permission. This holds especially true for those in the same business as a site sponsor. If there is a problem, members will be contacted and inappropriate links will be removed at the discretion of the board administrators.

Also, on occasion we allow members to post about charity drives, races, etc. These also need prior approval before being posted. These may be limited at the discretion of the board administrators. Too many, and the entire membership starts to feel besieged with money/donation requests - and no one wants that!

What other site rules should I be aware of?

We try to keep them simple. Post your questions, opinions and have fun doing it. No personal info (full names, addressess, phone numbers, etc.) should be posted (use email or Private Messages instead), no vulgarity (kids could be reading) and no personal attacks of any kind will be tolerated.

We won't hesitate to remove posts that we find to be bashing, baiting or offensive in nature. Please state your opinions without passing moral judgment upon others who might look at things differently. It will be OUR call as to what is acceptable/unacceptable. I have a strong personal aversion to censorship, but this is a friendly, family site and I intend for it to stay that way. There are plenty of great sites that allow a more 'colorful' range of topics.

Play nice, respect each other and we'll have tons of fun!

Thanks and welcome to Tagrel.com!

Hi Tagrel,
I just stopped in to say Hello and Good Luck - I be stopping in when I have the chance. I sure would appreciate any advise you might have for a casual "adult" evening on the Boardwalk. Hopefully DH will make it back from Africa in time to leave for WDW with us on Friday March 28th, otherwise SIL will help me with the driving as her daughter will be going. I really like what you've started here- I hope you have a lot of success. I always enjoyed your comments and additions in the "alley". Have a Magical Day :D Bookwood

Hi Bookwood.

Thanks for stopping by! Best wishes for DH getting home as scheduled.

My wife and I are planning an 'adults night out' this July. We'll be at the BCV, and intend to have a nice dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and then head over to the Boardwalk to see what it has to offer. There are so many great restaurants in that area. We have always had the kids, so look forward to getting a bit more insight into the 'kidfree' offerings.

Still deciding if we should take the kids to the Sandcastle club or have the Fairy Godmothers come to the room... Anyone have any experience with the kids services at WDW?

Hi Everyone. Great website Tagrel! I hope I can spend a great deal of time here. Re your questions about nights out on the town.... We just came back from 6 nights at WDW last night. One of the nights, we went out to Shula's. I have to say we did not have a good experience. I'll post more under dining... Suffice to say, we did figure out that what we love more than eating without kids is SHOPPING without kids. After dinner, we ended up at Downtown Disney. Not Pleasure Island. We're much too sedate for that. We did serious damage at the World of Disney, etc.

Think about it. Otherwise, I can't wait to hear how Yachtsman Steakhouse turns out. And of course, you'll get that wonderful DVC discount!

Re Sandcastle Club vs. in-room Fairy Godmothers. I've had no experience with either. (Our 15 year old sister-in-law babysitted this time) I would chose which one based on what you want to do the next morning. If your next day is relaxing by the pool, low-key, etc - then I'd do Sandcastle Club. My girls LOVE places like that. If you intend on going to the parks, I would have the babysitter come to your room. I believe they are both around the same price.

Guest above is Margaret64. Tagrel, when I posted with my name, it said my name had already been taken. Yeah, duh, by me! Anyway, so then I left it blank and it prefilled with "Guest"

Hello all! :D Dave, the site looks great! I'm ready to talk Disney, as our next trip is only 60 days, 23 hrs., and 24 minutes away!!! We've fallen head over heels for WDW, and are so excited about this next family trip. See ya around the board. 8)

Welcome Margaret and Alicia! Its great to see people starting to show up around here! :-)

Margaret, thanks for the ideas. We do like shopping 'free' of the kids and their impatience! ;-) We have never done PI or the Boardwalk Entertainment, so I think this time we'll do those. We'll still do plenty of shopping, I'm sure!

And I forgot about the DVC discount at Yachtsman! Thanks!

Don't feel bad. I did this once already too. This is the only room that you can post in without registering. I wanted people to be able to say hi without registering if they wanted to, but it seems to cause this sort of thing! :)

I'm so glad you are here, and look forward to your super secret and talking Disney Sea!

See ya around the board!

Hi Everyone! Great site - thanks! I haven't been to WDW in almost 7 years! We're going in September with our two little ones. Can't wait! We're staying at the BCV - 1 bedroom. Can anyone give me a hint as to where a good room/section is? I don't want to be out of the way but I don't want alot of noise either! I'm not too picky!!!!!!

Hi wdwc2! We love YC/BC/BCV area! You will LOVE the 1 bedroom units. They are so spacious and the ammenities really make it special. Having access to all the ammenities of a deluxe resort while all the comforts of home.

I'm assuming you already saw my BCV and Stormalong Bay (SAB) slideshows? There is also quite a bit of DVC detail in our August 2002 Trip report. We asked for and received a pool view. It was very pleasant and the sunsets were wonderful. There is also the coveted Epcot and/or Illuminations view rooms. While few and far between, guests really seem to enjoy these too. No room views are guarenteed, but it never hurts to request your personal favorite and hope for the best. The way BCV is laid out, we didn't really see HUGE walks from any one area. The elevators seemed pretty centrally located, but we weren't too far away from them. The five minute walk to the Epcot International Gateway is the BEST!

Even if you don't get the exact view you hoped for, the INSIDE of the rooms is wonderful and spoils you for anything else. I'm sure your little ones will LOVE SAB. The beach area and sand bottom pool is HUGE, with many varying sections, and the kiddie slide and pool in the bottom of the shipwreck is a blast for the young ones.

Don't forget to try out Beaches and Cream (Yum!), and we really enjoy the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe and I really like the Clam Bake buffet that they host at night. Then of course, there are the YC restaurants and all those at the Boardwalk and Swan/Dolphin. It is a great place to stay.

Again, welcome, and let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi Will! Glad to see you!

As to setting up chats, absolutely! Anyone want to volunteer for some Chats? I know the lunch time chats are popular too. I'm completely open to ideas about how to go about getting these rolling.

The room is up and running. We just need to find some hosts and times.

Thanks and welcome!

For now, how about 12 - 1 p.m. or so and just a general what's up chat?

I think that is usually about the time most people take lunch. I'm home 4 days a week and it doesn't matter to me.

Thanks Tarel! [/quote]

I have a question though about your opening statement. Don't know if I did that right, but see below the quote from you. What do you consider personal info that you don't want us to post?

So happy to see some familiar names here. I've seen some of you on other sites to and I'm so glad to be able to connect with some of the people I have been chatting with!

I hope this site takes off and provides a nice community for us to share info in! :)

Hello everyone! It is so good to 'hear' you all again. I could say a little birdie told me about this site...but it was a little rodent. OK, it was our favorite Moley! LOL Thanks for sending me here.

Tagrel, thanks for opening your home to us. I also need to thank you for one other thing. In the page where you sign the code-of-conduct agreement we had to check 'over 13' or 'under 13'...thanks for not moving up the list, like 'over 30' or 'under 100'.

I was fortunate to tag along on a 'business' trip  with my better half to Orlando two weeks ago. Although we stayed outside the parks and dined along 192 in Kissimmee it was a great trip and we spent our time in MK, Epcot and AK really just wandering and sitting (I know Moley, you're rubbing off on me) and just seeing the 'hidden' DisneyWorld. If there's a place to review 'offsite' accomodations and dining, point me there and I'll give my .02 worth!

It's good to be here,

Nancy

Tagrel
03-27-2003, 08:57 AM
Thanks and Welcome Nancy!

I can't take any credit for the 'Agreement' - it is standard issue with this software! :) But it all seemed to make good sense!

Moley
03-27-2003, 09:12 AM
Yeah, smallworld Nancy!

I was quite grateful the "under 100" category was mercifully absent, too! I imagine posting your experiences in both the hotels section and the eating section will be much appreciated. Staying offsite is the way to go to save big dollars sometimes.

So glad I have inducted you into the Lazy Butt Hall of Fame! 8) You must now sit down and take the pledge. Read below.

Hi to everyone~ This looks like an awesome website!! Thanks so much Tagrel for having this Disney website for a disneyaholic like myself...

I am leaving for WDW 2 weeks from tomorrow. If anyone needs anything - postcards, etc. let me know. I hope to fit at least 2 days to the parks. We are taking our 2 teenage boys, who like to fish & go to the beach. We did the fishing trip from WDW last time - There were 5 of us. We caught over 50 fish in 2 hours. It was so much fun & the kids all loved it. Our guide was great & had a super personality! It was $$$ but worth every cent.

Will anyone be there at the same time?

Welcome Luvdisney!

Glad you came in! Feel free to pull up a chair and get comfortable!

Your trip sounds like a lot of fun. 50 fish - that is a lot of fish. Sounds like a great thing to do at WDW

It is still several months before I get to WDW, but I would love to hear more about you trip when you return!

Congradulations Tagrel on your opening! Thank you for all your effort putting this site together.

I've been feeling homeless, well, web-homebaseless of late. My pockets may be near empty because my son is getting married in June and he vacuums my pockets each month for wedding expenses. With no pennies in my pockets for the rent at MA, I've been searching for a new home.

I think I recognize a few names from the membership list. I've been looking for a friendly place filled with fellow Disney fans. Hi everybody, I'm home!

I am a DVC member since '97. I love reading about, talking about, planning and remembering WDW trips. Most of all, I like sharing my ever growning knowledge base with anyone who asks for help. I even tried giving my son and bride-to-be a Disney Honeymoon as a gift. They wanted a trip to Hilton Head instead, where's the magic in that? I guess we make our own magic, don't we?

Here's wishing magical days to everyone!

:D I am so glad to be in my new home. I know some of the neighbors from the old neighborhood and am anxious to meet the rest. I didn't post a lot previously in the old place because there were so many knowledgeable people ready with their information. Maybe I can be helpful here as well as learn something new. It's the sharing I enjoy the most.

A special thanks to Tagrel! Last September (02) I took my family: oldest DS, DDIL and my DGS 4yr & 2yr to WDW. We stayed at WLV's. I (we) used your CM appreciation cards on that trip with great reactions. I chose the Monsters Inc. and the Tinker Bell versions to hand out. My only regret was I didn't use a heavy paper or card stock. Maybe next time I'll paste the CM appreciation cards to a blank note card and add a personal note when something special happens. (It did but that 's a story for another time.)

Thanks again,

TwirlerGirl

Hi TwirlerGirl!

Thanks, and I'm glad that you got to use the Original CM Appreciation Cards (those were provided by Erin and Leia's Mom). I have a small laminator, and after putting the cards through that they look mighty professional! :) I also found that the CM's really liked them, and this last trip we ran into a CM that still had one with her that she had received earlier in the year! :)

Hi all, this is my first posting...I'm very excited about my first disney cruise next april. I won a 4 day cruise on the Wonder at Who Wants to be a Millionaire at Disney MGM. I'm taking my 3 sisters with me and we've expanded my prize to a 7-day land and sea. My younger sister and I have been to WDW 3 times together, plus I have made 4 other trips. We are anxious to show our other 2 sisters the world and experience the cruise for the first time together.

I've been scouring the internet for info and have found some great sites. I am obsessive planner because I love it!!!!

Hi Everyone!
Just found this site from someone on Passporter - always great to find more Disney fans to talk to. You know - people who don't respond "Why are you going there again?"

We're going on our third trip this year for our very first visit during the holidays. Really looking forward to seeing it 'snow' on Main Street. :D

Question: how do I add the counter? Love to see the days get less and less.

I look forward to chatting all things Disney with you!

Liz

Welcome Liz! :welcome: We love new members, and we all 'get' the Disney thing! You'll find no end of interest in all things Disney around here! :)

There are instructions on how to add a counter here: Adding a Trip Counter (http://tagrel.com/forum/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=243)

If it is too confusing, just PM me with your date and time of departure and I'll set it up for you.

Hi Boo, Welcome to our big family of Disney Lovers. I am a Ct. Yankee, but hubby and I have retired to sunny south Fl. and loving it We won't mention that we recently experienced two hurricanes that came ashore
about six miles north west of us, here in Stuart, Fl.
We were originally born and raised in New Milford where the film "Deeds" was made a few years back.
Our son and family live in Bloomfield. Scott worked as a Unix Manager System support at the Hartford Insurance Co. in Hartford.
We have just a few members from Ct. SusanL lives near Mansfield. Pockets lives in Milford. Not sure where Rosebud lives, but her daughter is a Disney cast member.
It's a little bit slow around here right now due to Mousefest at DW. I live two hours south and just arrived home today, with the bulk of them coming back on Mon. sorry this welcome comes a bit late, but just ran into you!! See you around the block!!! Figgy

Hi I'm Kelly, from Common Ground I had the pleasure of meeting Tag in December and I just love Alicia and some wild women named Moley who for the past few day just keeps making me cry everytime I read her posts.
I have 3 boys( 4 if you count my husband ) age 11, 4 and 2, I live In Pa , I think Cinderella and I must be neighbors because I too live between the cornfields and the cows.

The LYF stands for Love you forever , Moley the one that keeps making me cry said it to me one night in a cg chat and now that is how she signs all of her pm's to me so since I am visiting her home I choose to use LYF so she know I Love her forever also when she reads my posts here. Even though she thinks that Linnie is me
My Trip in December to Disney was trip # 50 something I lost track ,When I am not planning disney trips or going to the dr's i like to knit and read and sew .

Hi alicia!!!

:D HI
I followed a link here from the Disboards forum (re Tagrel's new points comparison calculator...great job  ).

Decided one can never belong to too many Disney Forums so I just registered!

I've been going to WDW since 1978, when my bf proposed at the Polynesian luau. Sadly, I am recently divorced from this same man and it hurts to think how many Disney memories will be adversely effected by it.
So I decided I needed to make NEW Disney memories and for that reason, I'm currently waiting to pass ROFR so I can own my own piece of the Mouse (at BWV).

I really have appreciated all the info gleaned from these forums and I'm excited to learn from this one too...and to share some of what I've learned in my 27 years of Disney visits!

So here's to new and better memory making!

Hello!

New to Tagrel, but been a WDW internet freak for many years. I partcipated in the rec.arts.disney.parks group until a few years back, and occasionally posted on the DISboards.

I was tipped off about Tagrel from some very good longtime friends (who I won't name incase I end up embarrassing them in some way ;) ) and I'm hoping I can find a new Disney forum "home" here.

I've been to WDW about 13 times, and DL 3 times. My next trip is in 2 weeks, 2 days, when I bring along a guy who's never been there before.

To catch up real quick: I like the hat in MGM, I'm sad the wand's coming down in Epcot, I hated the castle-cake for the 25th but loved the castle 'mirror' for the parks' 50th and when I retire I'd like to be the Fairy Godmother in the parades. :girlears:

Hello, hello...
Since DH and I met a few of you at Fred's awesome MagicMeet recently (I'm the laryngitis-stricken writer Fred asked to play reporter that weekend, by the by -- I believe I was introducing myself as "court reporter in the Kingdom of Fred"), and you all seemed so lovely, I thought I'd take the opportunity to climb aboard the Tagrel Train. Besides, since your mascot's a penguin, and I have a small penguin addiction, well, it seemed a natural thing to do!
Anyway, we'll also be attending the land festivities of MouseFest in December, and we're looking forward to renewing acquaintances and meeting even more of you there. (Side note to Tacey: count me in for the Small World meet!)
In the meantime, look for my byline and MagicMeet reports upcoming on Fred's official site, along with some nifty pix -- hopefully I can light a fire under my own hind quarters and get it done soon! We had an awesome time in Camp Hill and Hershey, and are looking forward to next year's meet...
Cheers to all,
Laura (the maven of all that is DoomBuggyBabelicious:yowsa:)

Hi everyone! :D
I am still new here, but have been reading for quite some time now. We, my brother Tom :boyears: and I :girlears: love everything Disney! We travel a lot every year and go to WDW once a year and visit DLRP several times a year. We started our obsession in the original park in Anaheim in 1992. Ever since we have been hooked!!
I am really looking forward to make some new Disneyfriends here!
