21:04:45 [Suzy-CoHst] Hello Pixie and WillCad - welcome to Pressed Pennies, Free Disney!

21:04:46 [WillCAD] Howdy folks.

21:04:53 [MJ*Co-Host] Hi Will

21:04:58 [JennyAnne] OK...I'm trying to type and eat a rootbeer float at the same time. Howdy WillCAD!!

21:05:06 [Suzy-CoHst] No prob, gals, we can always take over for ya!!

21:05:07 [MJ*Co-Host] You guys ready to start

21:05:13 [pixi] yum jennyAnne!

21:05:14 [WillCAD] Free Disney... if only!

21:05:18 [JennyAnne] Sounds good to me!

21:05:35 [WillCAD] Think STRAWS JennyAnne.

21:05:36 [Suzy-CoHst] All set!

21:05:39 [JennyAnne] It is yummy...don'

21:05:39 [MJ*Co-Host] We all love Disney but we all know Disney can be expensive.

21:05:50 [BetsyAnn] You got to win one of those contests Will!

21:06:12 [MJ*Co-Host] Tonight we will talk about things to do at Disney that are FREE - Park Admission is not required.

21:06:17 [JennyAnne] Sorry...I meant to say don't tell the other Healthinators BetsyAnne!

21:06:31 [JennyAnne] Sounds great MJ!

21:06:51 [BetsyAnn] JennyAnne> My lips are sealed! LOL

21:07:27 [MJ*Co-Host] For those with Park Hoppers having a Free day can stretch your Disney vacation.

21:07:34 [BetsyAnn] So does resort hopping count?

21:07:49 [Suzy-CoHst] That is the truth, MJ!

21:07:53 [MJ*Co-Host] Yes Resort Hopping is big

21:08:06 [JennyAnne] What do you mean "free day"?

21:08:18 [WillCAD] Resort hopping is my favorite free thing at WDW.

21:08:20 [MJ*Co-Host] I love visiting the other resorts

21:08:45 [Suzy-CoHst] In our Feb trip, we spent a whole day resort hopping. It was a ton of fun and inspired us for future trips. And it was free!

21:08:46 [MJ*Co-Host] By Free Day I mean not having to spend the money to go to a Park or not having to pay for the activities you do that day.

21:08:51 [pixi] which resort has the most FREE activities

21:09:04 [JennyAnne] OK...gotcha MJ!

21:09:19 [pixi] fort wilderness?

21:09:26 [MJ*Co-Host] One trip we simply tried to go to all the resorts & take pictures. This helped in deciding what resorts we wanted to stay at.

21:09:43 [BetsyAnn] I would think hanging out at AKL could get you some animal seeing options -- are they still doing the story telling at AKL?

21:09:46 [MJ*Co-Host] Fort Wilderness has lots of free activites but so does Animal Kingdom Lodge.

21:09:48 [Suzy-CoHst] Pixi, the Poly has a lot of activities throughout the day, jewelery making, lei making, torch lighting. . .

21:10:33 [MJ*Co-Host] Now we did not do a lot of these activities but at check in at AKL the map they give you has about 15 activities listed on the back

21:11:01 [Suzy-CoHst] Staying at a Boardwalk resort gives you lots of opportunities to walk around and take in a lot of free entertainment.

21:11:07 [MJ*Co-Host] I loved the Torch Lightning at Polynesian. It was fun & the Torch Lighter was easy on the eyes.

21:11:23 [MJ*Co-Host] Boardwalk does have lots of

21:11:26 [MJ*Co-Host] things.

21:11:45 [MJ*Co-Host] I love watching the Juggler at Boardwalk - I think his name is Randy

21:11:51 [WillCAD] Do they do the torch-lighting every night?

21:11:51 [pixi] i'm making a list guys

21:11:54 [BetsyAnn] Suzy - have you all done any of the activities at the Poly? They sound great!

21:11:54 [pixi] keep going

21:12:15 [BetsyAnn] LOL MJ

21:12:20 [MJ*Co-Host] Here is a small listing of some of AKL's Free stuff -

21:12:22 [Suzy-CoHst] Will, when the weather is good (i.e., not thunder/rain) they do torch lighting.

21:12:26 [pixi] can we go 1 resort at a time

21:12:33 [Suzy-CoHst] So, pretty much every day

21:12:42 [JennyAnne] Am I understanding correctly that these activities are only for those who are staying at the resort? ie I am staying at CBR, so I wouldn't be able to do things at the Poly? Correct?

21:12:46 [MJ*Co-Host] Yes pixi good idea. Lets do AKL first

21:13:05 [Suzy-CoHst] Oh Good! I love AKL!

21:13:30 [BetsyAnn] The resort that calls my name - AKL!

21:13:41 [BetsyAnn] one year I might even get to stay there! LOL

21:13:52 [MJ*Co-Host] Flamingo Feedings, Spirit of Africa Tour, Storytelling, Cultural Safari, Animal Viewing with Night Goggles

21:14:14 [WillCAD] Some things are for everybody JennyAnne. I've heard of the torch-lighting at Poly, and anyone can see that, all you have to do is go onto the grounds.

21:14:26 [MJ*Co-Host] Cooke Decorting, Culinary Tour of Africa, Pelican Feedings.

21:14:48 [MJ*Co-Host] oops sorry bad typing tonight.

21:14:53 [BetsyAnn] I don't know JennyAnne - good question and Will has a good answer!

21:14:54 [Suzy-CoHst] "Cooke Decorting" what's that?

21:15:11 [MJ*Co-Host] Cooke = Cookie Decorating

21:15:14 [JennyAnne] Thanks Will! Just didn't want to show up for something that I wasn't supposed to be at!!

21:15:30 [BetsyAnn] anyone else have the chat moving slowly tonight?

21:15:33 [pixi] is the night goggle thing for anyone?

21:15:42 [pixi] my son WANTS a pair LOL

21:15:49 [MJ*Co-Host] They did not ask for Resort ID

21:15:55 [MJ*Co-Host] so I guess so pixi.

21:16:09 [pixi] cool!

21:16:24 [MJ*Co-Host] What is another Resort that has lots to do?

21:16:24 [Suzy-CoHst] BetsyAnn - I just got cable and it is not seeming to be much faster than when I did dial up . . . so perhaps it is slower tonight???

21:16:37 [WillCAD] What is the schedule for these things MJ? Nightly, weekly, or not set?

21:16:49 [JennyAnne] Not me BA...we have DSL...I don't know if that makes a difference.

21:16:54 [Suzy-CoHst] MJ, WL/Fort Wilderness.

21:17:02 [MJ*Co-Host] Remember we are looking for Free things.

21:17:25 [pixi] what about FtW

21:17:33 [BetsyAnn] Alright then it is just me --

21:17:33 [pixi] i know the campfire...

21:17:43 [MJ*Co-Host] Most look like they are daily Will

21:17:47 [Suzy-CoHst] FW: Petting zoo, boat rides, campfire/marshmallows

21:17:51 [BetsyAnn] Is the petting zoo free?

21:18:12 [MJ*Co-Host] Yes I believe it is Betsy

21:18:16 [pixi] boat rides are free at FW???

21:18:28 [BetsyAnn] cool - maybe get that on the list for next time

21:18:32 [pixi] oh you mean Disney transp.

21:18:47 [MJ*Co-Host] There is also a Blacksmith shop & of course the Electric Water Parade.

21:18:48 [WillCAD] The boat rides TO FW from MK are free.

21:18:52 [BetsyAnn] I think the boats to the resorts are a cool why to get around -- nice to do - no extra charge

21:18:56 [Suzy-CoHst] There are also tennis courts at FW (for those who are inclined)

21:19:05 [WillCAD] The WaterMice at FW are not free.

21:19:05 [pixi] i LOVE boats!

21:19:26 [BetsyAnn] Never seen the Electric Water Parade -- where would the best place to see it?

21:19:28 [pixi] can you see the EWP from FW?

21:19:37 [MJ*Co-Host] WL right next door also has a cool tour of the Resort & you can try to be the Flag Family. Of course this one you have to be a guest of WL>

21:19:44 [Suzy-CoHst] Good call with the Electric Parade, MJ! Love that!

21:19:50 [WillCAD] Resort boats are my favorite thing at WDW! Expecially the Epcot boats, but I also love the FW/WL boats.

21:20:21 [BetsyAnn] I love the PO to DD boat - very relaxing!

21:20:25 [Suzy-CoHst] Yes, Pixi, from the beach area. Really fun - bring a blanket in the winter months, though as it is slow moving.

21:20:27 [pixi] WL tour- is that for guests only?

21:21:01 [MJ*Co-Host] I am not sure on that pixi - my guess is maybe for Disney Resort guests not just WL>

21:21:04 [WillCAD] I've been meaning to try that one for a while BA, but it doesn't run all the time.

21:21:10 [Suzy-CoHst] It's fun to go the MK, get on a boat to WL/FW, stop off and look around and boat over to Contemp, Poly and GF.

21:21:37 [MJ*Co-Host] We talked about the Poly a bit already so how about Grand Floridian?

21:21:50 [BetsyAnn] Maybe in December -- Can you see it from FT Wilderness?

21:21:55 [Suzy-CoHst] Do they still have the ladybug thing at GF?

21:21:58 [MJ*Co-Host] I love the Band they have in the afternoon.

21:22:29 [MJ*Co-Host] I was just going to mention that Suzy. The Lady Bug release at GF looks like it would be lots of fun.

21:23:09 [MJ*Co-Host] Each Disney Resort has so much to offer. Does anyone have any other activities they like to do for Free at a Disney Resort?

21:23:18 [WillCAD] Where is the afternoon band at GF? Lobby or out on the grounds?

21:23:39 [Suzy-CoHst] I was reading in my Passporter that there was a storytime? Anyone seen this or heard of it at GF?

21:23:47 [MJ*Co-Host] It was Lobby when I have seen it Will

21:23:57 [Suzy-CoHst] The band in the lobby on the 3rd floor (?)

21:24:10 [MJ*Co-Host] Have not heard of that Suzy

21:24:22 [Suzy-CoHst] They have their own little alcove that they play in.

21:24:30 [BetsyAnn] And I am trying to find if resort activites are just for guests staying at the resorts - LOL Suzy

21:24:35 [JennyAnne] Along the same lines MJ, I was just planning on taking time to get on Disney transportation (monorail) and ride around looking at other resorts.

21:24:39 [MJ*Co-Host] I love seeing the pools at the other resorts - I know you can't pool hop but I like seeing the theming of them

21:25:05 [pixi] are there places to see fireworks without going into the parks?

21:25:10 [MJ*Co-Host] That is a great thing to do JennyAnne - especially easy are those on the Monorail Line.

21:25:18 [pixi] well i know there are...

21:25:28 [MJ*Co-Host] Yes you can see Fireworks at the Poly Beach.

21:25:29 [Suzy-CoHst] Yes, Pixie, my fav: The Poly beach . .

21:25:29 [pixi] but what are the best places?

21:25:46 [JennyAnne] I thought it would be fun-but not free-to snack at the resorts. A drink here an appetizer there...

21:25:53 [pixi] we saw Epcot's at CBR over the trees

21:26:01 [pixi] on the beach in the hammock :-)

21:26:03 [WillCAD] Whenever I resort-hop, I also love to check out the gift shops and look at the restaurants.

21:26:04 [MJ*Co-Host] Used to be able to go to the top of the Contemporary but I think that has been changed.

21:26:12 [JennyAnne] From where at CBR pixi?

21:26:28 [JennyAnne] Ooops...just saw your answer. :-)

21:26:29 [pixi] at Martinique 26 we stayed

21:26:30 [BetsyAnn] Kind of like a progressive dinner JennyAnne - great idea!

21:26:42 [Suzy-CoHst] Yeah, Will! Shopping is FREE if you don' buy anything! We love to shop!

21:26:42 [pixi] it was the sandy area right near the main building

21:27:01 [pixi] HEY does anyone know if they still have the stuffed french toast at ASM?

21:27:06 [WillCAD] MJ, you can still go to California Grill and just order a desert and coffee, then see the fireworks after. Much cheaper than a meal, though it's not free.

21:27:07 [Suzy-CoHst] We saw the Epcot FW at CBR from their beach outside OPR.

21:27:11 [MJ*Co-Host] Shopping is Free but I have a hard time not buying.

21:27:14 [BetsyAnn] Looking is free - sampling does cost! ;)

21:27:26 [pixi] same one, Suzy.

21:27:52 [MJ*Co-Host] Any other Free things at Resorts that you can think of?

21:28:01 [WillCAD] I rarely buy anything in the resort gift shops, though I have found some nice stuff in Contemporary.

21:28:21 [MJ*Co-Host] Contemporary has some great shops.

21:28:22 [Suzy-CoHst] Well, there is always a DVC tour!

21:28:32 [WillCAD] Walking or jogging the various paths and trails is free and can be very relaxing.

21:28:51 [pixi] what about the boardwalk

21:28:53 [MJ*Co-Host] BRB

21:28:58 [pixi] or downtown disney

21:29:15 [BetsyAnn] I think you said this MJ - but just looking around -- I think it would be cool to get a map from each resort

21:29:41 [WillCAD] I like wandering around taking pictures of the resort grounds. Not exactly free if you have to develop pictures, though...

21:30:05 [pixi] which resort can you go on the roof?

21:30:26 [pixi] you could Videotape instead :-D

21:30:40 [Suzy-CoHst] Boardwalk: Watching the street musicians, entertainers, strolling, Epcot fireworks from the promenade . .

21:30:49 [JennyAnne] Is it the Contemporary pixi?

21:30:52 [WillCAD] Oh, Big Tip I picked up some years ago: You don't have to be a resort Guest to get PS or ask questions at the Guest Services counters.

21:31:04 [Suzy-CoHst] Sometimes, there is no admission to Dance Hall. . .

21:31:07 [BetsyAnn] Boardwalk would be very cool place to hang out and watch people

21:31:09 [MJ*Co-Host] I like that idea Betsy. I had forgotten to bring our map home from the Boardwalk in December so got another map in May.

21:31:23 [BetsyAnn] Great Tip Will!

21:31:46 [WillCAD] Pixi, Contemporary has an observation deck on the roof next to California Grill, but they started limiting it to resort guests.

21:31:53 [MJ*Co-Host] Boardwalk is a fun place at night especially although it can get noisy.

21:31:55 [pixi] maybe JennyAnne

21:32:05 [pixi] thanks Will :-(

21:32:12 [WillCAD] You can also get on the roof of WL if you are selected to be the Flag Family (also for WL Guests only).

21:32:27 [Suzy-CoHst] You don't have to be a resort guest if you want to grab a chair at the BC or YC and sit on the beach.

21:32:28 [MJ*Co-Host] What about just taking the Monorail?

21:32:44 [pixi] I LOVE the epcot loop

21:32:44 [BetsyAnn] Great time Suzy

21:32:53 [BetsyAnn] Which resorts have hammocks

21:32:55 [MJ*Co-Host] I love riding the Monorail from Magic Kingdom to Epcot

21:32:58 [JennyAnne] I don't mind noise...I think Boardwalk at night would be a lot of fun!

21:33:04 [WillCAD] Remember that riding in the front car of the monorail is free, you just have to ask.

21:33:21 [MJ*Co-Host] Coronado Springs, Polynesian, Caribbean Beach Resort have hammocks

21:33:23 [JennyAnne] Sorry pixi...what is the EPCOT loop?

21:33:28 [WillCAD] Boardwalk is always fun Jenny.

21:33:29 [Suzy-CoHst] BetsyAnn: CBR, Poly (only a few there) . .

21:34:08 [BetsyAnn] Thanks - think that sounds like a great thing to do

21:34:14 [pixi] the monorail loop that goes thru Epcot, JennyAnne

21:34:35 [JennyAnne] Gotcha pixi...thanks!

21:34:40 [BetsyAnn] JennyAnne - you can ride the monrail from Epcot to MK and then Back - or start at MK to Epcot and Back

21:34:42 [MJ*Co-Host] JennyAnne the monorail thru Epcot allows you to see pretty much all of the Park. It is so neat.

21:34:45 [Suzy-CoHst] Back to the boat trip from POR to DD, that is a great one!

21:34:46 [pixi] what about free stuff at DD?

21:34:57 [pixi] my kids loved the new toy store

21:35:00 [WillCAD] The Epcot monorail loop actualy goes THROUGH the park before letting you off outside; great way to see the park without going inside.

21:35:15 [Suzy-CoHst] You can ride from DD to POR or FW and walk the grounds or even, sometimes, there is live music near the bar areas.

21:35:17 [MJ*Co-Host] Suzy the boat ride from POR to DD is one of my favorite things to do.

21:35:29 [BetsyAnn] I love all the logo creatures at DD. Great photo ops there -- If

21:35:30 [WillCAD] Lego playland at DD is pretty cool.

21:35:53 [MJ*Co-Host] Will we did this in May. We left MK, & rode the monorail to Epcot then caught our bus back to AKL>

21:35:59 [BetsyAnn] the Lion you can stick your head in is great fun and the sleeping tourist

21:36:30 [MJ*Co-Host] DTD is a great Free place if you can not spend money.

21:36:33 [BetsyAnn] POR sometimes has a great piano player in the lounge

21:36:36 [Suzy-CoHst] Playing with the toys (Mr. Potato Head) at DD.

21:36:49 [MJ*Co-Host] I love walking around the gift shop at Rainforest Cafe.

21:37:09 [pixi] my daughter went in the back of the toy store & they had a coloring station

21:37:10 [Suzy-CoHst] DD: watching glass blowers at the glass place (name??)

21:37:21 [BetsyAnn] I think I made it once through DD without buying anything other than food -- but only once lol

21:37:21 [pixi] RFC I love the thunderstorm!

21:37:22 [MJ*Co-Host] Oh yes that new Toy Store is so neat pixie & Suzy.

21:37:41 [Suzy-CoHst] Those glass blowers are really great - they explain what and how they are creating the beautiful statues.

21:37:52 [WillCAD] I like walking through the shops on Pleasure Island during the day, especially the Art of Disney. It's like an art gallery.

21:37:53 [pixi] where are the glass blowers?

21:38:02 [MJ*Co-Host] It makes me laugh to watch grown people try to gram so much in those little boxes for Mr Potato Head

21:38:13 [BetsyAnn] One of my favorite activites at DL when I was a child - I could watch the glass blowers for hours

21:38:30 [Suzy-CoHst] The glass blowers are at this glass shop kind of behind Ghirardeli.

21:38:38 [MJ*Co-Host] Suzy they are Arabi Brothers or something like that. Matt buys my Christmas presents there every year.

21:38:44 [BetsyAnn] The art of Disney store is great Will, I almost forgot about it!

21:38:51 [WillCAD] Kids love playing in the fountains at DD.

21:38:56 [MJ*Co-Host] gram = cram

21:39:02 [pixi] is there still a magician

21:39:14 [BetsyAnn] lol, mj

21:39:20 [MJ*Co-Host] Sometimes there are free samples at Ghirardelli's

21:39:37 [pixi] i read about that somewhere... magic show or something

21:39:43 [Suzy-CoHst] Eurospain! That is the glass place!

21:39:56 [MJ*Co-Host] I have never seen a magician.

21:39:59 [WillCAD] Free samples... gotta remember that!

21:40:07 [JennyAnne] I think it's Eurospain.

21:40:52 [MJ*Co-Host] I love watching the vendors. There is a stand that does this Asian Art called Angel Art. It is so cool. They will paint your name with this art form in about 20 minutes.

21:41:09 [JennyAnne] I'm sitting looking at my lovely DD map that Ana Maria sent me.

21:41:23 [pixi] ooooh I remember the guy at POR doing the sketches of people- they are awesome to watch

21:41:43 [BetsyAnn] Good tips MJ and Pixi

21:41:58 [BetsyAnn] I love to watch people! DD is a great place to do that!

21:42:03 [MJ*Co-Host] Yes you don't have to buy to watch the Vendors at various Resorts & DTD

21:42:55 [WillCAD] I used to like getting a Frozen Sundrop from Forty Thirst Street (it's gone now), and sitting outside looking out over the water.

21:43:10 [WillCAD] Now I'll just sit with a bottle of water, I guess.

21:43:23 [MJ*Co-Host] If you are into Pin Trading there are usually Big Time Traders there that will give you tips at DTD

21:43:36 [Suzy-CoHst] Hey! At least water is free!

21:43:42 [BetsyAnn] The water views are a good place to sit and watch Will!

21:43:46 [MJ*Co-Host] Anything else you like to do for Free at DTD?

21:43:54 [pixi] if you have pins, you can always trade- that's free LOL

21:43:58 [WillCAD] I use that time to make trip notes.

21:44:05 [MJ*Co-Host] The Bird Show at Rainforest Cafe is fun.

21:44:12 [pixi] what bird show?

21:44:24 [BetsyAnn] me, too Will -- lol

21:44:48 [WillCAD] Sometimes animal trainers at Rainforest bring out exotic birds to the front of the restaurants.

21:44:53 [MJ*Co-Host] In front of RFC they have an area where they have a little Bird Show. This is usually at night when lots of people are waiting for a ttable.

21:44:54 [BetsyAnn] Out front of RFCafe - another great tip MJ

21:45:17 [WillCAD] It's pretty cool Pixi, keep your eyes out for it and ask when they will have it.

21:45:22 [MJ*Co-Host] I know we talked a bit about the boats but they are great fun.

21:45:35 [BetsyAnn] Night - RFC - dinner -- really bad combination!

21:45:40 [MJ*Co-Host] The boat from DTD to POR is so nice at night.

21:45:49 [Suzy-CoHst] Love the boats! That is my number one fav FREE thing to do!

21:45:54 [pixi] that is a great ride

21:45:57 [BetsyAnn] One of my favorite things MJ!

21:46:02 [MJ*Co-Host] You can also take a boat to Old Key West.

21:46:07 [WillCAD] I will NEVER eat at the DD Rainforest again. Lousy service, mediocre food, long waits.

21:46:08 [BetsyAnn] Where does the boat from MGM go?

21:46:18 [MJ*Co-Host] Have any of you take the boat during December.

21:46:26 [pixi] hey what about swan & dolphin, do they have anything to do there

21:46:26 [BetsyAnn] I hear you Will -- but good drinks! lol

21:46:34 [WillCAD] But I like browsing the gift shop and listening to the thunderstorms.

21:46:34 [Suzy-CoHst] The POR/DD boats are totally open, so you can really enjoy the nive breezes on the summer nights.

21:46:48 [Suzy-CoHst] that would be niCe breezes :)

21:46:53 [MJ*Co-Host] I was so surprised at the Christmas Decorations people had up on the Tree Houses.

21:47:20 [Suzy-CoHst] Swan/Dolphin have boats to MGM that loop back and go onto Boardwalk.

21:47:30 [WillCAD] The boat from MGM is on the Crescent Lake loop... MGM, Swan & Dolphin, Yacht & Beach Clubs, Boardwalk, Epcot.

21:47:46 [MJ*Co-Host] The boat from MGM is nice also. It goes from MGM to Swan/Dolphin, Yacht & Beach Club, Boardwalk & then Epcot

21:47:54 [BetsyAnn] Might have to try that one -- open boats?

21:48:06 [BetsyAnn] Thanks everyone

21:48:14 [MJ*Co-Host] I will have to admit the boat is not the fastest but it is very nice to ride from MGM

21:48:25 [pixi] i like the lighthouse

21:48:35 [Suzy-CoHst] Open boats = boats that are not enclosed (i.e., heat or AC)

21:48:42 [WillCAD] No BA, they are Friendship Launches. A/C and tinted windows with a small open are on the back.

21:48:57 [MJ*Co-Host] No the boats at MGM are enclosed & air conditioned.

21:49:08 [BetsyAnn] ok - thanks Will and MJ

21:49:08 [WillCAD] The Crescent Lake boat loop is the best one at WDW.

21:49:14 [MJ*Co-Host] I have to admit this next idea Alicia gave me & she does not even know it.

21:49:21 [BetsyAnn] Sometimes slow is very good at WDW!

21:49:24 [Suzy-CoHst] The open boats are only the ones at Poly/WL and DD/POR

21:49:26 [MJ*Co-Host] How about the DVC Tour.

21:49:38 [WillCAD] Takes about 30-45 minutes to go all the way around, depending on how busy they are.

21:49:48 [pixi] oooh yeah, where can you take that MJ

21:49:50 [MJ*Co-Host] But the boats at POR go pretty fast so there is usually a breeze.

21:49:57 [Suzy-CoHst] We may try a DVC tour this coming trip. I hear that sometimes they give you free food vouchers.

21:50:26 [MJ*Co-Host] Yes Suzy I heard that too. I am not sure where the tour is now. It used to be at the Boardwalk.

21:50:32 [JennyAnne] I might take DH to do DVC tour, but only if we have enough time. I would love to see what it's all about.

21:50:34 [WillCAD] Yuck, I hate time-share tours. Even if it is a Disney time-share.

21:50:57 [MJ*Co-Host] There are stands in the Parks & at DTD so I am sure they can tell us what we need to do.

21:50:57 [pixi] must you have your spouse with you?

21:51:01 [BetsyAnn] added that to list for next trip

21:51:20 [JennyAnne] So you wouldn't want to go with us Will (hee hee). Tell us how you really feel!! :-)

21:51:23 [Suzy-CoHst] I hear that they are really low-pressure. That would be the only way we would take one, though doubtful we would buy in.

21:51:24 [MJ*Co-Host] But there is not pressure at Disney. We took the tour at Vero Beach & it was awesome. They were showing the 3 bedroom home.

21:52:01 [JennyAnne] I wouldn't think you would have to pixi.

21:52:09 [MJ*Co-Host] This next idea is for those who have their own transportation.

21:52:09 [Suzy-CoHst] Did ya get anything for taking the tour, MJ? (since we're talking free and all) ;)

21:52:32 [MJ*Co-Host] They had free food!

21:52:57 [MJ*Co-Host] How about a side trip to Celebration?

21:52:58 [pixi] I have a question

21:52:59 [Suzy-CoHst] Food aint nothin' to sniff over! I love free food!!

21:53:04 [MJ*Co-Host] sure pixi

21:53:17 [pixi] would they allow tours of resorts that you're not staying at

21:53:29 [pixi] i mean, like to see where rooms are

21:53:42 [Suzy-CoHst] Other than WL, I'm not sure of any resorts that do tours.

21:53:49 [pixi] not DVC i mean

21:53:57 [BetsyAnn] Sorry bounced

21:54:02 [WillCAD] That's the whole point Pixi, so they can attract yo uto stay there or buy into DVC.

21:54:04 [pixi] ok

21:54:05 [MJ*Co-Host] They might if they are not crowded.

21:54:13 [pixi] hey is fishing free at FW

21:54:25 [WillCAD] You can wander the grounds of any Disney resort.

21:54:28 [pixi] i know you have to rent a pole or something

21:54:36 [BetsyAnn] Pixi -- you can always stroll around the grounds at the resorts and do a little scouting on your own

21:54:46 [MJ*Co-Host] No body stops you from walking around the resorts & hey if the door is open they who is to say I can not look in as I slowly walk by.

21:54:51 [Suzy-CoHst] I would imagine that if you asked the FD/concierge about a particular room/request, they may accomodate you. We usually we show people rooms if needed when i worked for Hilton.

21:54:56 [pixi] can you stroll the halls?

21:54:59 [BetsyAnn] Celebration would be a great side trip --

21:55:14 [MJ*Co-Host] Yes we do pixi

21:55:14 [Suzy-CoHst] I have yet to get over to Celebration!

21:55:16 [JennyAnne] That's funny MJ...sounds like something I'd do!!

21:55:32 [WillCAD] Probably Pixi, though I have never tried.

21:55:34 [MJ*Co-Host] I think Celebration would be a great place to raise a family

21:56:01 [WillCAD] I did once go out onto the emergency stair at Contemporary to take monorail pictures. Great view.

21:56:17 [BetsyAnn] The moderates are all outside hallways - so that would not be an issues -- the others I don't know

21:56:17 [pixi] oooh

21:56:25 [MJ*Co-Host] JennyAnne I can't help it if I walk slow down Resort Halls.

21:56:25 [pixi] someone said something about the elevator

21:56:48 [pixi] having voices when you push the buttons, where was that?

21:57:01 [JennyAnne] MJ - me neither, being so exhausted from park touring and all (LOL)

21:57:02 [BetsyAnn] Contempory?

21:57:17 [WillCAD] Elevators at Contemporary tell you what floor you are on when the doors open.

21:57:17 [MJ*Co-Host] We walked all over AKL & noone ever asked if we were staying there. We were but was never questioned. Also wandered the halls at Contemporary looking for EJ4Disney's room

21:57:43 [MJ*Co-Host] Yes Contemporary have cute character voices.

21:57:51 [BetsyAnn] LOL MJ - I thought the same thing

21:58:01 [MJ*Co-Host] Well our time is almost up & one thing we did not mention that was free was......

21:58:07 [JennyAnne] That's pretty neat, I never really thought about walking within the buildings.

21:58:18 [Suzy-CoHst] OH! I just remembered another great free activity! Looking for hidden mickeys!!!

21:58:32 [MJ*Co-Host] Good one Suzy.

21:58:38 [pixi] i still want to know about French toast at ASM!!!

21:58:49 [BetsyAnn] always fun Suzy

21:58:56 [MJ*Co-Host] I don't know that one pixi

21:59:07 [WillCAD] They had it when I was at ASSP last September Pixi... whether they still have it, I dunno.

21:59:09 [BetsyAnn] Will - was the french toast at AS one of your favorites

21:59:10 [MJ*Co-Host] We did not mention Pool Time!!!!

21:59:27 [pixi] oh yay the pool!

21:59:37 [BetsyAnn] I was thinking pool time -- always a great way to relax

21:59:42 [MJ*Co-Host] I think we could fill up a day or 2 at Disney with things for Free.

21:59:47 [WillCAD] Never tried it BA. I'm a bacon-ham-potatoes-eggs kinda guy for breakfast.

21:59:55 [JennyAnne] ooooh yeah...pool time; my favorite (except having to get into a bathing suit)

22:00:12 [WillCAD] Better you than me, JennyAnne.

22:00:16 [BetsyAnn] Opps - now who was talking about that!

22:00:31 [MJ*Co-Host] The good thing about Disney Jenny Anne is that no one knows you - so who cares.

22:01:00 [pixi] i heard it was one of the few places that had the stuffed french toast betsyann

22:01:03 [MJ*Co-Host] Plus believe me there are lots of people who sure be better covered then they think.

22:01:12 [BetsyAnn] But water is so inviting when it is soooo hot there -- got to just do it JennyAnne!

22:01:23 [JennyAnne] This is all true! I just wear my cover-up until the split second before I jump in!!!

22:01:23 [MJ*Co-Host] sure = should

22:01:44 [BetsyAnn] me too - pixi -- and someone said it not long ago -- memory very bad! lol

22:01:51 [MJ*Co-Host] Well I think we pretty much covered the Free Disney.

22:02:17 [Suzy-CoHst] Gotta run - we need to hand out some invites to our neighborhood (bbq) before it gets too late (7pm here)

22:02:18 [BetsyAnn] Thanks MJ, and SuzyQ - great chat as usual!

22:02:22 [WillCAD] One more free thing to do at most Disney resorts:

22:02:25 [Suzy-CoHst] Great job MJ!

22:02:27 [MJ*Co-Host] One more thing that is Free is Mini Meets. If you have not done one you are missing out.

22:02:30 [JennyAnne] Thanks for hosting MJ and Suzy...too bad LGC had to leave!

22:02:35 [WillCAD] Just take a good book, sit in the lobby, and read.

22:02:41 [pixi] and talking to CM's

22:02:49 [MJ*Co-Host] Nite Suzy thanks for co hosting with me.

22:02:53 [BetsyAnn] Both of those are great - Will and MJ!

22:02:54 [Suzy-CoHst] Great one, Will - very peaceful and vacation-like!

22:02:56 [WillCAD] Cool, nice place, people watching possibilities, and you can usually find a quiet spot.

22:03:03 [JennyAnne] Good call Will! Love reading...I think I may do it tonight before I go to bed!

22:03:05 [Suzy-CoHst] See you all later!

22:03:05 [MJ*Co-Host] Good one Will. I have done that at AKL many times.

22:03:29 [WillCAD] I did that on the Disney Wonder last year and had a great time.

22:03:31 [JennyAnne] On that note, I think I will go get ready for bed...I work early in the AM.

22:03:36 [WillCAD] Bye Suzy

22:03:42 [MJ*Co-Host] Thanks for coming guys & thanks for all the great ideas for a Free day at Disney.

22:03:44 [WillCAD] Nite Jenny

22:03:54 [JennyAnne] Thanks all!! See you soon!!

22:04:02 [WillCAD] MJ, you saving the chat for Dave to log it later?

22:04:04 [BetsyAnn] Good night Jenny, Suzy

22:04:05 [pixi] bye thanks guys!

22:04:06 [MJ*Co-Host] Nite JennyAnne

22:04:13 [BetsyAnn] I got it Will!

22:04:18 [MJ*Co-Host] Nite all I have to run also.

22:04:36 [MJ*Co-Host] Thanks Betsy

22:04:56 [WillCAD] This was a great chat. I think once it's logged someone should list all the ideas and put them on the boards.

22:05:27 [BetsyAnn] Great Idea Will

22:05:45 [WillCAD] Guess I'll head out too.Nite guys.

22:06:00 [BetsyAnn] Good night Will

22:06:19 [WillCAD] Live the Magic!

--------- The messages that have been sent today start above ---------

21:00:21 [WillCAD] Hi Cheri

21:01:06 [LimeGreenC] Hi Will

21:01:10 [LimeGreenC] Hi Betsyann

21:01:10 [BetsyAnn] Hey Will and LG

21:01:28 [LimeGreenC] I'm ready to blisterproof ;)

21:01:34 [WillCAD] Hi BA

21:01:38 [BetsyAnn] LOL

21:02:22 [LimeGreenC] I made PS for the Garden Grill for next Monday

21:02:25 [WillCAD] I've been lucky. I've only had 2 or 3 blisters in 12 trips to WDW.

21:03:07 [WillCAD] I've never eaten at GG. Been there a few times, but never gone inside.

21:03:09 [LimeGreenC] I usually get one blister on the same toe or at least I used to before I discovered moleskin

21:03:15 [BetsyAnn] Only two here too

21:03:29 [BetsyAnn] moleskin, baby, moleskin

21:03:30 [LimeGreenC] Hi JennyAnn

21:03:33 [WillCAD] Hi JennyAnne

21:03:50 [LimeGreenC] GG is so good, my DH is actually the one that suggested it

21:04:01 [BetsyAnn] Hey JennyAnne

21:04:01 [JennyAnne] Hello all!

21:04:26 [BetsyAnn] Garden Grill is a must do for us!

21:05:11 [WillCAD] I have some faves when I go to Epcot, and I tend to pass over trying new places.

21:05:46 [LimeGreenC] We tried GG at the last mintue last July when Sunshine fair was packed. and it was such a good decision

21:05:51 [BetsyAnn] I think GG is a favorite because it was the first character meal we ever did!

21:07:00 [JennyAnne] Is GG still a character meal now?

21:07:06 [LimeGreenC] what are your faves Will?

21:07:21 [LimeGreenC] Yes JennyAnn, I think Chip and Dale and Mickey will be there

21:07:31 [BetsyAnn] For lunch and dinner, JennyAnne -as for as I know

21:07:55 [WillCAD] I like Akershaus and Marakesh. And I eat counter-service a lot, fish & chips, and Electric Umbrella.

21:08:37 [BetsyAnn] I like Akershaus - have they changed that to a family style now?

21:09:02 [LimeGreenC] Electric Umbrella was trashed the one time we went in there, so we headed to Sunshine Fair

21:09:06 [JennyAnne] Cool...I think GG is someplace I would like to try. I don't know much about Akershaus or Marakesh.

21:09:46 [LimeGreenC] sorry I got us off topic :(

21:09:57 [WillCAD] We're not ON topic yet.

21:10:02 [BetsyAnn] Food the number one topic in all chats :D

21:10:23 [WillCAD] JennyAnne, Akershaus is in Norway, Marakesh is in Morocco. Both are excellent!

21:10:32 [BetsyAnn] And with 3 healthinators in here too! LOL

21:10:44 [LimeGreenC] oh, ok, then, sorry anyway LOL :)

21:11:03 [JennyAnne] Yup...and I'm not telling you what I'm snacking on tonight!!

21:11:23 [JennyAnne] Sounds good Will, maybe we'll give one a shot. Will my picky DH eat there?

21:11:53 [WillCAD] Depends... does he like fish? Lots of fish at Akershaus.

21:12:16 [LimeGreenC] like fried fish or fish in weird sauces kinda fish?

21:12:21 [WillCAD] Lots of chicken, lamb, some beef, at marakesh.

21:12:23 [LimeGreenC] Hi John

21:12:28 [JennyAnne] He does but I don't...I can usually find an alternative though, unlike him!! He is SOOOO picky!

21:12:34 [JennyAnne] Howdy John!

21:12:36 [WillCAD] Mostly salmon.

21:12:42 [BetsyAnn] I thought there was a pretty good variety there - not a ton of options but enough to satisfy most people

21:12:42 [WillCAD] Hi John

21:12:43 [LimeGreenC] Welcome to our open Mic chat

21:12:46 [John] Howdy

21:12:51 [BetsyAnn] Hey John

21:13:15 [John] Tonight was a salad, Healthy Choice Duo, and fruit later

21:13:31 [John] Boring.

21:13:41 [JennyAnne] Good eats John!

21:13:52 [JennyAnne] Healthy anyway!

21:13:55 [LimeGreenC] John that is a healinator kinda meal, you fit right in! :)

21:14:12 [John] Yup...Doesn't help though

21:14:28 [WillCAD] My favorite dish at Akershaus is the venison stew.

21:15:04 [John] I'll be eating at WDW soon.

21:15:09 [BetsyAnn] * BetsyAnn eating salad dreaming of cheesecake

21:15:18 [JennyAnne] That sounds good Will.

21:15:33 [LimeGreenC] I can never remember which is the norweign place and which is the morrocan place

21:15:45 [LimeGreenC] When are you going John?

21:15:46 [WillCAD] They also have great cheeses and breads at Akershaus.

21:15:50 [John] I have only been to Akershus once. I guess I am not adventurous enough for it

21:15:56 [JennyAnne] BA...I have an awesome recipe for chocolate chip cheesecake covered in a layer of chocolate. Not Healthinator approved though. :(

21:16:00 [WillCAD] Morocco is Marakesh. M-M.

21:16:11 [John] The Moroccan place hass the Belly Dancer

21:16:23 [John] We're going on July 26

21:16:28 [John] Has

21:16:33 [John] Oooppss

21:16:55 [JennyAnne] Of course...remembers the belly dancer!! :)

21:16:55 [BetsyAnn] Cool John

21:17:06 [LimeGreenC] M_M got it!

21:17:33 [John] I'm ready. We traded some DVC time for Branson in June, and it didn't do it for us

21:17:51 [BetsyAnn] One day I may ask for that reciepe JennyAnne

21:18:11 [John] Got extra Bonine for the Mission Space Preview

21:18:19 [JennyAnne] BA...I'll keep it safe until then!

21:18:34 [LimeGreenC] I'm going shopping for sunscreen tomorrow, do you all have one that is sweat proof?

21:18:47 [LimeGreenC] lol John

21:18:52 [WillCAD] I won't be going on MS till December. Hopefully they'll have worked out the bugs by then.

21:19:37 [John] I will be taking double Bonine on AP preview. My son wants to know if we can go on multiple times

21:19:44 [WillCAD] Last couple of trips I used Panama Jack SPF 45. Lasted thru the sweat pretty well.

21:20:05 [John] Maybe he can...It's yet to be seen for me, but that have a pretty good Nausea Cocktail at first aid

21:20:15 [LimeGreenC] I'll look for that Will, my kids are who I'm really worried about

21:20:16 [WillCAD] I also use Coppertone SPF 45, also lasts thru the sweat pretty well.

21:20:28 [John] I haven't even thought about Sunscreen...Guess I better.

21:20:34 [WillCAD] Panama Jack smells better. Kinda like bananas.

21:20:42 [WillCAD] Less greasy feeling, too.

21:20:45 [LimeGreenC] John, I didn't know they had nausea medice at First aid, that is good to know

21:20:54 [John] My son needs it. Other than my neck, I fare pretty well

21:21:03 [John] Yup

21:21:13 [WillCAD] Which leads us into tonight's official topic: Burns and Blisters: Common Ailments at WDW!

21:21:25 [John] It is a combo if Liquid Benadryl with Liquid Maalox

21:21:32 [John] Free, and works fast

21:21:37 [LimeGreenC] My DB got all the Cherokee Indian trates and browns so well, my DD she got all the Irish and burns like crazy

21:21:54 [WillCAD] Sunburn, of course, is near the top of everyone's list. Besides sunscreen, what other tips do you have for avoiding sunburn?

21:22:06 [John] Stay in the room

21:22:16 [John] Wear a hat

21:22:24 [WillCAD] NOT AN OPTION!

21:22:27 [JennyAnne] Hats? I always wear a baseball cap.

21:22:36 [WillCAD] Hats are good.

21:22:39 [LimeGreenC] I think people also forget about how important sunglasses are

21:22:43 [John] Watch the amount of time spent out vs in shade

21:22:56 [LimeGreenC] the eyes are also very prone to melanoma

21:23:01 [John] It's generally easy to find shady areas at the world.

21:23:03 [JennyAnne] Especially for DH with his big bald spot. He burns there easily!

21:23:27 [John] I didn't know that. I guess I better find son some clickon sun glasses

21:23:28 [JennyAnne] I didn't know that LGC.

21:23:32 [LimeGreenC] lol Jennyanne, put sunscreen on his head and don't forget his ears!

21:23:52 [JennyAnne] Good advice LGC!

21:24:09 [WillCAD] I found out the hard way last weekend, when you put sunblock on your face, put it on THICK.

21:24:25 [WillCAD] I put it on too thin and got burned on my face, neck, and ears.

21:24:30 [LimeGreenC] If I can find the website I read that on, I'll post it. It's been a while since I researched melanoma

21:25:07 [John] FInd sunscreen that won't burn your eyes...I hate it when I sweat and the sunscreen gets in eyes

21:25:09 [LimeGreenC] also put on an extra amount around the sock line

21:25:32 [JennyAnne] Thanks LGC...younger sister was at-risk for melanoma and had some iffy spots removed last year. She has to go for 6 month check ups.

21:25:42 [JennyAnne] She's only 23.

21:25:45 [LimeGreenC] I saw this poor woman with sun poisioning around her ankles, horrible blisters, first aid told her she need to go to the ER

21:26:13 [LimeGreenC] my SIL died of melanoma at age 39, that was 3 years ago

21:26:19 [WillCAD] Forget the sock line... push the socks down and put the block on as far down as you can get.

21:26:36 [LimeGreenC] i'll keep her in my prayers JennyAnne

21:26:48 [LimeGreenC] good advice Will

21:26:57 [JennyAnne] That is so young, LGC. We are not even a beach or outdoors family at all. I don't know what happened to cause this with my sister. Thanks for the prayers LGC!

21:27:06 [BetsyAnn] sorry back

21:27:17 [LimeGreenC] WB Betsyann

21:27:31 [JennyAnne] Howdy BA!

21:27:38 [John] by 1 or so

21:27:47 [BetsyAnn] You are correct on the sock line - Will - put the sunscreen on to your toes then your sock on and more sunscreenn

21:27:49 [LimeGreenC] I'm really worried about mosquitos...some folks lately have been eaten alive with them at Disney

21:27:49 [John] DUH

21:28:07 [BetsyAnn] Worst sunburn I ever got was the the tops of my feet

21:28:12 [John] I was saying...Go early, and avoid the afternoon sun if possible

21:28:34 [LimeGreenC] that is a good hint John

21:29:00 [WillCAD] I haven't ever had a problem with mosquitoes at WDW, but if you do, hydracortisoen cream will help the itch.

21:29:02 [BetsyAnn] John> I like waterbabies sunscreen - does not burn eyes and works well

21:29:04 [JennyAnne] Avoid any fragranced lotions or hairsprays LGC. (Like B&B Works type stuff).

21:29:07 [LimeGreenC] I'm thinking there is sunscreen that has bug repellant in it has anyone seen that?

21:29:29 [WillCAD] I've heard of it Cheri but I don't know where to get it.

21:29:47 [John] We open the park we are going to, then head back to resort after lunch. For naps and TV

21:29:49 [JennyAnne] DH is saying yes LCG, but doesn't know the brand.

21:29:53 [LimeGreenC] oh shoot JennyAnne, I won't know what to do if I dont' smell like sun rippenend raspberries. LOL ;)

21:30:07 [BetsyAnn] If there is a biting bug within a 100 yards it finds me and bites - no matter what -- so like Will said - hydorcortizone

21:30:23 [John] Skin So Soft??? do they have sunscreen now??

21:30:29 [BetsyAnn] mid day breaks really help, John

21:30:32 [LimeGreenC] I'll be buying out walmart tomrrow with sunscreen. LOL

21:30:44 [JennyAnne] My is green tea LCG. Love the smell!! :)

21:30:57 [LimeGreenC] I think they do John, but I'm going on Thursday, no time to call the avon lady

21:31:10 [LimeGreenC] ;)

21:31:22 [John] John is almost 10, so he won't nap, but the midday breaks are required.

21:31:36 [LimeGreenC] want to hear a really bizzare home remendy for sunburn?

21:31:36 [John] He is heck to live with if we don't break...Heat or not

21:31:42 [JennyAnne] Skin So Soft does have one, my boss ordered it the other day.

21:31:55 [WillCAD] Mid-day breaks are a good way to avoid another common ailment: exhaustion.

21:32:00 [BetsyAnn] sure, LG

21:32:13 [John] True

21:32:16 [LimeGreenC] mayonaisse takes the "fire" out... it's messy, but it works!

21:32:24 [WillCAD] But here's a question: What do you do to feel better AFTER youve been burned?

21:32:32 [BetsyAnn] Yes it is Will

21:32:52 [JennyAnne] Does salad dressing work too LGC?!? ;)

21:32:52 [John] YIKES!!

21:32:56 [LimeGreenC] however, I prefer that green slimy aloe gel to the mayo LOL

21:32:58 [John] Solarcaine??

21:33:10 [WillCAD] I use Solarcane.

21:33:15 [LimeGreenC] if it does, I'll take bleu cheese please

21:33:29 [BetsyAnn] Cool bath, then 100% aloe vera gel, and drink tons of water

21:33:39 [JennyAnne] Will...I take a really cool bath.

21:33:40 [John] I don't get burned. Son does some

21:33:49 [LimeGreenC] home remedies is what you get when you are raised by a grandmothere LOL

21:34:05 [John] He is about 3rd generation Norwegian on Mom's side. Fair

21:34:22 [JennyAnne] No LGC, not THAT kind of salad dressing. I mean like the kind that's the low-fat alternative to mayo (like Miracle Whip!) ;)

21:34:25 [John] Aloe Vera is good. I like the smell of Solarcaine

21:34:27 [WillCAD] Cool bath only helps for a few minutes JennyAnne. After you dry off, you feel the burn again.

21:34:41 [BetsyAnn] Solarcane is good too, Will - Aloe can help take down any swelling done if that is part of the burn

21:35:03 [LimeGreenC] lol JennyAnne

21:35:14 [JennyAnne] True Will, I use aloe and then sleep with only a light sheet on top of me!

21:35:29 [John] Well, I am going to run. Will talk to you all later. Stay out of the sun.

21:35:29 [WillCAD] Solarcane is tough to find at WDW. I had to go off-site to find it at Walgreens.

21:35:42 [WillCAD] Bye John.

21:35:46 [LimeGreenC] I hate those rough towels after a sunburn. ouch!

21:35:47 [BetsyAnn] John> I burned a lot as a child with sunscreen -

21:36:12 [BetsyAnn] Nothing touching a sun burn - no towels, no sheets

21:36:28 [LimeGreenC] bye John

21:36:48 [LimeGreenC] ok here is another question, since I'm packing

21:36:58 [LimeGreenC] what kind of drugs do you all take with you?

21:37:04 [JennyAnne] I got burned so bad in college one time I actually slept on the beach on a towel overnight so I would have nothing but the cool breeze on my skin...very sick afterward.

21:37:23 [WillCAD] It's also tough to find SPF 45 sunblock at MK. I only found it at the front of the park where the lockers are.

21:38:01 [JennyAnne] LGC...Tums, immodium (can you tell we're prone to tummy issues?), Excedrin (PM and Migraine), aspirin.

21:38:11 [WillCAD] I always take allergy meds, Tylenol, and Zantac. I also carry Rolaids with me... I have heartburn that would lite up a small city.

21:38:23 [BetsyAnn] I have to have 45 sunscreen or better

21:38:38 [JennyAnne] Also, DH and I each have our own prescriptions...make sure to take those.

21:38:41 [LimeGreenC] we have tummy issues too, but no more heartburn for me thanks to nexium

21:39:03 [WillCAD] I also pack a few bandaids, some lip balm (Chapstick), and a tube of Anbesol, just in case I get one of those cold sores.

21:39:12 [BetsyAnn] not really a drug - but epxson salts for those tired muscles

21:39:12 [LimeGreenC] allergy meds! I forgot those

21:39:21 [BetsyAnn] neosprin

21:39:27 [WillCAD] Bandaids are a good tool for blister repair.

21:39:43 [LimeGreenC] never used anbesol

21:39:52 [BetsyAnn] MOLESKIN, and scissors to cut it

21:39:53 [JennyAnne] Make sure your chapstick has SPF in it.

21:39:59 [LimeGreenC] neosporin and moleskin are packed

21:40:05 [LimeGreenC] true JennyAnne

21:40:21 [BetsyAnn] Did we cover footcare yet?

21:40:29 [LimeGreenC] ok scissors, will security give me hassle about blunt tipped child scissors?

21:41:00 [WillCAD] Don't know Cheri, be safe and put it in checked bags.

21:41:10 [WillCAD] Moving onto foot care now...

21:41:11 [BetsyAnn] getting into WDW? I don't think so - you could per cut a few strips if you want

21:41:21 [WillCAD] How do you PREVENT blisters?

21:41:31 [LimeGreenC] I'm not flying, I'm talking about security at the theme park gates

21:41:32 [JennyAnne] OK...STUPID question but I don't know what moleskin is.

21:41:52 [BetsyAnn] Sorry -I was not asking to move just did not want to repeat if already covered

21:42:05 [BetsyAnn] Moleskin - a foot saver

21:42:38 [BetsyAnn] It is a soft cushy side and adhesive on back -- great for hot spots on feet

21:42:51 [LimeGreenC] it has a flannel like cover Jennyanne and really protects your feet, you cut it into the size you need

21:43:26 [LimeGreenC] what do you do to prevent blisters will?

21:43:29 [JennyAnne] You put it on after you already have a blister or where you think a blister could form?

21:43:32 [WillCAD] I just use fabric bandaids to cover blisters.

21:43:53 [BetsyAnn] Foot powder spray, lots of changes of socks, and moleskin when need - have helped with feet care

21:44:17 [WillCAD] I wear snug socks and shoes. Too tight will hurt your feet, but too loose rubs, causing blisters.

21:44:37 [LimeGreenC] fabric bandaids? I thought they only came in scooby doo and bob the builder. LOL, that comes from having children

21:44:45 [BetsyAnn] You should put it on where you feel heat - I have used it on a blister a couple of time - it usually makes them pop

21:45:00 [BetsyAnn] I agree Will

21:45:03 [JennyAnne] Gotcha BA...thanks!

21:45:38 [LimeGreenC] I got some expensive socks that"keep your feet dry" well, those socks, made my feet feel like they were on fire

21:45:45 [WillCAD] Also wear white cotton socks and breathable shoes to alleviate sweaty feet. Sweatty feet will also contribute to blisters.

21:45:51 [LimeGreenC] I think they have teflon or something in them

21:46:04 [BetsyAnn] Do you all take more than one pair of good walking shoes

21:46:30 [LimeGreenC] I've heard changing socks can help with blisters

21:46:41 [JennyAnne] Yeah LGC we sell something like that at Eddie Bauer...they're supposed to "wick" the sweat away from your feet but they're about 3 inches thick! I would think they would make your feet so HOT!

21:46:50 [WillCAD] I have always taken only one pair of shoes. A good pair can last a whole trip if you are careful.

21:46:59 [LimeGreenC] I take more than one pair of shoes, in case one gets wet

21:47:38 [BetsyAnn] I have been taking more than one pair but usually just use the great walking shoes

21:47:48 [LimeGreenC] these socks were thin JennyAnne, but they made my feet beet red enough so that I left work, and went to walmart to buy a new pair

21:47:54 [WillCAD] I'm careful about not getting my feet too wet.

21:48:02 [BetsyAnn] I also have slightly paded socks - white and cotton -- they can help

21:48:29 [LimeGreenC] I try to be careful about my shoes getting wet, but sometimes in those FL thunderstorms, you can't help it

21:48:53 [WillCAD] Besides burns and blisters, the other most common ailment at WDW is exhaustion/dehydration.

21:48:53 [JennyAnne] I just bought athletic socks from Adidas and they are nice. Really comfy and padded but not too thick.

21:49:11 [BetsyAnn] I have been known to throw Uncomftable shoe way in the resort room! lol

21:49:18 [BetsyAnn] Very true Will

21:49:59 [WillCAD] Everybody knows you should drink lots of water, but what are the symptoms of dehydration?

21:50:05 [LimeGreenC] if you are actually thirsty, you've waited too long to get water in you

21:50:27 [BetsyAnn] I think people forget about drinking water and drink to much pop or beer or whatever

21:50:39 [JennyAnne] I'm afraid I will have dehydration probs with DH. He drinks SO MUCH soda and not enough water.

21:50:47 [BetsyAnn] Light headedness?

21:50:49 [LimeGreenC] headache, dizziness, passing out or "falling out" as we call it where i work LOL

21:51:15 [LimeGreenC] POP? what in the world is POP? LOL

21:51:39 [BetsyAnn] At the point of all of those - it is really time to get out of the sun, and get some fluids in you

21:51:50 [BetsyAnn] Oh - excuse me ;) Coke

21:51:52 [WillCAD] The most common symptom of dehydration is simple fatigue. If you feel tired and it's only 10:30, you're dehydrated.

21:52:12 [LimeGreenC] now your talking Betsyann ;)

21:52:13 [BetsyAnn] Good tip Will!

21:52:14 [JennyAnne] I must be dehydrated every day! ;)

21:52:24 [WillCAD] No, BA, if it's not pop, it's SODA.

21:52:40 [BetsyAnn] :D

21:53:01 [BetsyAnn] The amount of water you should drink everyday is really high -- most people are not even cloes

21:53:20 [BetsyAnn] So then you add heat, humidity and excerise - really bad

21:53:21 [LimeGreenC] No Will! It's COKE! LOL

21:53:27 [WillCAD] After you get dehydrated, water alone is not enough. You should drink some Powerade or Gatorade.

21:53:47 [BetsyAnn] I try to drink at least 16 ounces before we head out the door and then every hour at least that much more

21:53:48 [JennyAnne] BA...especially being out in the sun, you should probably almost double your water intake.

21:54:02 [LimeGreenC] I noticed that they are selling Poweraide at some of the kiosks

21:54:09 [WillCAD] Sweating makes you lose salt ans otehr minerals along with water, and sports drinks like Powerade help put them back.

21:54:10 [JennyAnne] Will, have you ever brought Gatorade mix and used it in a Brita bottle? Does that work?

21:54:38 [JennyAnne] Hey Pam!

21:54:42 [DisneyPam] hi kids...sorry I'm late.

21:54:43 [WillCAD] I like Powerade better than Gatorade. Gatorade has too much sodium and can make you sick.

21:54:48 [WillCAD] Hi Pam.

21:54:49 [BetsyAnn] Good point -- I hate the taste of most sports drinks YUCK

21:54:58 [BetsyAnn] Hey DPam

21:55:12 [LimeGreenC] Hi Pam

21:55:29 [JennyAnne] Does Powerade have a mix Will? I guess what I'm asking is is there anyway to have this without having to repeatedly buy it in the parks?

21:55:44 [BetsyAnn] Will - which flavor is the best for Powerade?

21:56:01 [WillCAD] I haven't tried the mixes in the Brita bottle.

21:56:17 [DisneyPam] but the sports drinks have too much sugar which also is bad. I prefer Propel which is a mineral enhanced water.

21:56:27 [WillCAD] I like the orange or lemon-lime Powerade BA.

21:56:38 [LimeGreenC] Propel is good!

21:56:39 [BetsyAnn] Does Propel have the electrolites

21:57:03 [BetsyAnn] Thanks Will

21:57:21 [DisneyPam] I'm not sure, BetsyAnn.

21:57:26 [WillCAD] Ah, but there is a trick to it Jenny. Drink lots of water through the day so you won't need the Powerade. Just get the Powerade when you;re very tired and dehydrated.

21:57:34 [BetsyAnn] ok

21:57:58 [DisneyPam] I just can't drink the Powerade or Gatorade crap...it makes me sick to my stomach. :(

21:58:13 [WillCAD] I don;t know if Powerade has mixes like Gatorade, but it might.

21:58:37 [DisneyPam] LGC - what is your favorite flavor? I like the lemon best and then the kiwi-strawberry.

21:58:40 [JennyAnne] Gotcha Will...not a huge fan of the sports drinks...maybe I will have the towncar service stop and I'll pick up a bottle or two for the hotel room, just in case.

21:58:40 [WillCAD] Pam, it's meant to be drunk when you are exhausted and dehydrated, so it tastes funny if you're not.

21:58:47 [LimeGreenC] I'm not really a powerade or gatorade drinker,

21:58:50 [LimeGreenC] Hi Linnie

21:58:57 [WillCAD] Hi Linnie.

21:59:03 [JennyAnne] What's up Linnie?

21:59:15 [Linnie] hi everyone

22:00:11 [DisneyPam] Hey Linnie! :)

22:00:48 [WillCAD] Anybody got any other WDW ailments before we end the scheduled chat?

22:01:16 [BetsyAnn] lol Will

22:01:23 [DisneyPam] so whenever...my cell will be on

22:01:31 [JennyAnne] I've gotta run guys...I have another load of laundry to do with my work clothes in it. :( Thanks for the great advice everyone!

22:01:58 [LimeGreenC] bye Jennyanne

22:02:02 [WillCAD] Nite JennyAnne.

22:02:20 [Linnie] laundry yuck!

22:02:35 [LimeGreenC] I've got to run too, have a goodnight everybody

22:02:39 [DisneyPam] I've got to run too...just wanted to say hello. TTFN

22:02:43 [JennyAnne] Yeah, I know...and I let it go all day. :( G'night all!

22:02:48 [LimeGreenC] thanks Will! You always do such a good job

22:03:15 [WillCAD] Nite Cheri

22:03:24 [LimeGreenC] nite

22:05:16 [WillCAD] Okay, I think I'll go watch Miss COngeniality now... just watched While You Were Sleeping... I defy any man with to watch that movie and not fall in love with Sandra Bullock!

22:05:24 [Linnie] I always manage to wander in on the tail end of things, lol

22:05:39 [Linnie] see you all later

22:05:56 [WillCAD] Nite Linnie.

22:06:26 [BetsyAnn] Thanks Will for doing this chat

22:06:32 [BetsyAnn] It was great!

22:06:42 [WillCAD] No worries.

22:06:58 [BetsyAnn] Have fun watching the movie

22:07:03 [WillCAD] Good topic... too bad I had to get burned to give me the idea.

22:07:20 [WillCAD] Nite BA.

22:07:24 [BetsyAnn] LOL - burns bad Will
